Luke Humphries salutes Phil Taylor's role in Premier League win as Luke Littler has eyes on his own records

Cool Hand defeated The Nuke at London's O2 to complete the Triple Crown as he joins trio in prestigious club.
Proud Luke Humphries joined Phil Taylor in the Triple Crown club and immediately thanked The Power for surging him to success.
Cool Hand breezed to the Premier League title after a stunning fightback blew away Luke Littler.

The World No.1 cast aside issues with wind across the stage to storm back and dump The Nuke in front of 14,000 at London's O2.

Humphries pocketed the £275,000 winners cheque by beating Nathan Aspinall 10-7 and then silencing the Littler Army in London to win 11-8 and claim the cherished trio of elite prizes.
He followed Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson in winning the World Championship, World Matchplay and Premier League in his career with the success over his big rival.
Afterwards, the champ confessed Taylor has been helping him and explained: 'Honestly, that means the world to me. That was the one I was missing. That was the one I wanted. I've done it now.

'If I don't win another title ever, I'm happy because I've done the three hardest ones to do. I've joined the elusive group of me, Gary, Phil, Michael.
'I must say to Phil, thank you so much because he's been giving me loads of support the last few weeks, really helped me out a lot.
"Gave me a lot of advice and he gave me that extra boost. That was a struggle between me and Luke. It wasn't our best game, but I'm really, really pleased with it.

'I love him to bits. Honestly, he's one of my best mates on tour. He's so good. He wasn't his best, nor was I, but I managed to get in front of him. Well, I'm just going to go and retire now and that's it, I'm done! No, I want to search for more. He makes me want to be a better player.
'But right now, I'm doing okay. I've won eight major titles now, the most important ones that I can dream of, so now it's important that I go and finish this end of the season well and try and regain that World Championships.
"I said to him: You'll probably get me back a few times, but I'm glad I've got it. One time or 10 times, one's good enough for me.'

Littler dodged an object flung onto the stage and was hit by a foam finger prior to his 10-7 semi win over Gerwyn Price, but he couldn't get away from Humphries and lost out in his bid to go back-to-back.
He said: 'I had a little bit of a thing after the game, as I do. No one likes losing, but I'm fine. Glad to say it's over. It's been a tough 17 weeks, but I'm very happy it's over. Came runner-up, I'll be back next year.

'I've set many records. Personally, I don't think they'll be broken because I'm going to go next year and try and break my own records. But a little bit of a break now.'
The pair will team-up at the World Cup next month and Humphries said: 'I've won it before, Luke's going to want to win the World Cup and we're both really good friends, but we're good players, so if we connect, then we're going to stand a great chance of winning.
"I know the pressure's going to be on us, but we believe that we can win it and if we do play our best, I don't think anybody's going to touch us, but we'll see.'
Littler added: 'I can't wait, obviously. He won it last year, so now he can lead me to victory.'

Saudi Pro League eye Andre Onana transfer as Barcelona make Marcus Rashford call

Manchester United are hoping to bounce back from a poor season and they are already making moves in the transfer market, having signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves Manchester United are set for a busy summer as they look to revamp their squad after enduring their worst ever Premier League campaign. United finished 15th in the league and also missed out on Champions League qualification after losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final. The Red Devils have already finalised a £62.5million deal for Matheus Cunha and plenty more incomings and outgoings are expected. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are set to complete permanent exits, while captain Bruno Fernandes could also leave. ‌ Al-Hilal are hoping to tempt him to Saudi Arabia with a hugely lucrative £100m contract offer and it remains to be seen whether Fernandes will accept. With all that in mind, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest news and rumours around Old Trafford... ‌ Onana exit Reports have claimed that Andre Onana is a target for newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Neom SC. It is claimed that United would be opene to selling the goalkeeper, who made several high-profile errors this season. However, it has previously been reported that Onana wants to fight for his place at Old Trafford. "Andre's plan is to stay in Manchester and he wants to knuckle down and get United back to where they should be," a source was quoted as saying last month. "His sole focus is on United and nothing else. He's a confident person and wants to prove the doubters wrong. He knows he has made mistakes but he sees proving people wrong as a challenge." Barcelona's Rashford call Barcelona have been linked with a move for Marcus Rashford and the club's sporting director, Deco, has delivered an update on their transfer plans. "We have been focusing on renewing contracts, after that, we'll discuss players to come," Deco told BBC Sport. "Of course, these two players, like you mentioned, they are good but have contracts in their clubs, so we won't speak because it's not fair. But when you decide to go to the market, for sure, we find some names. In my opinion, we don't need to bring many players. ‌ "When I speak with the agents of the players, everyone wants to come or stay. So this is important. The image of the club is still good. We are proud because Barcelona is still such a big club, and the way we are playing football makes players want to come." Man Utd eye Udinese star According to Italian outlet Messaggero Veneto, United are interested in Udinese defender Oumar Solet. Solet has impressed since joining Udinese from Salzburg in January and the likes of Napoli and Bournemouth have also been linked with the 25-year-old. The report states that Udinese are planning to cash in on Solet this summer, having set a price tag of around £30m.

Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Barcelona in Partey talks EXCLUSIVE, ‘green light' for Gyokeres deal, Sesko latest

Arteta on Guard of Honour Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says Liverpool 'deserve' their Guard of Honour. Arne Slot's champions were BOOED by Chelsea fans as they walked through the tribute of Enzo Maresca's team last weekend. Arteta doubled down on his assertion that Arsenal were 'the best team' in the Champions League and should have now been preparing for a Munich Final against Inter Milan. But the Spaniard, who admitted his side had taken a 'step backwards' this term, promised his team would show Anfield a display of dignity and use it as 'motivation' for next term. Liverpool deserve that. They've been the best team, they've been the most consistent. What Arne Slot and the coaching staff have done has been fascinating, it's been really good and they fully deserve it. And that's the sport, when somebody is better you have to applaud and accept and try to reach that level. Something that has to drive you, motivate you, and pain probably is a good one to use. When you don't really want to do something but it's the right thing to do, usually it is a motivation for next season. Mikel Arteta

Pep Guardiola confirms two Man City transfer decisions before Club World Cup

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken about the club's squad planning ahead of next season amid speculation over stars about to enter the final year of their contracts Pep Guardiola has confirmed Manchester City goalkeepers Ederson and Stefan Ortega will remain with the club next season. The Catalan coach revealed the Premier League side appear unlikely to dip into the market to improve their options in net. Ederson and Ortega have shared the net at the Etihad Stadium for a number of years, with the former taking the no.1 slot for Guardiola's side. The duo are both set to enter the final year of their contracts however, increasing speculation that a change could soon be on the cards in goal at City. ‌ City have little time for rest before they are called upon for Club World Cup duty. Their first match takes place against Wydad AC on June 18. ‌ There is an opportunity to move for new players, with a transfer window open until June 10 but Guardiola appears content with his options for the moment. Though goalkeeper was an area of discussion with the club's hierarchy. "We have spoken about the situation regarding squad planning and the two goalkeepers we have will continue," Guardiola told reporters at a golf event in Catalonia on Monday. That did not prevent the ex-Bayern Munich boss being taken to task over Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia. The shotstopper saw an approach by Arsenal last summer, while Barcelona appear to be in pole position for his signature this year, despite reported interest from the Gunners and City. "Joan Garcia is a really good goalkeeper, but City are linked with 500 players in every transfer window," Guardiola said. "He's an Espanyol player and I don't know what happen, but I'm told by the Espanyol guys [playing in the golf event] he's an extraordinary goalkeeper. The references we have are very good." ‌ City are already intending on leaving at least two bodies at home for their Club World Cup adventure in the United States. Midfield star Mateo Kovacic is to undergo surgery after nursing a heel injury. The Croatian will miss the tournament and be unavailable until the start of next season. Guardiola had hinted that the club were trying to manage the player's injury when he left him out of the FA Cup final squad as a precaution. The Manchester club are also said to have opted against including James McAtee in their squad. The 22-year-old will instead join up with England's pre-tournament training squad ahead of the under-21s Euros in Slovakia.
