Bristol in Pictures: Rovers, St George's Day and rising stars
Twice this week Bristol Rovers have been supported by about 9,000 fans at the Mem. Sadly it didn't help them on the pitch with two disastrous defeats.Elsewhere in the city, the next generation of musicians have been showcasing their talent at the Bristol Beacon, while a popular bakery chain was effectively handed over to its staff to run.Special masses were celebrated at Easter, and flags were flying proudly to celebrate St George's Day.
Ones to watch: The Bristol Beacon Next Level showcase saw multiple young artists performing at the end of a writing, production and rehearsal camp. The group will now be supported by Big Team & Bristol Beacon over the next 18 months to help them take the next steps in their musical careers.
Stepping forward: A new permanent audio trail is being launched to tell the stories of the Christmas Steps in the city centre. Performers from the Invisible Circus will be returning to bring the tales to life on 3 May from 19:30 BST.
Keep the brolly handy: Easter Monday didn't bring much in the way of sunshine to Bristol, whereas the forecast for this coming week is a bit more promising.
Blessed: Clifton Cathedral was packed for the annual Chrism Mass, where the oil of the sick and the oil of catechumens were blessed by Bishop Bosco ahead of being used throughout the diocese in the coming year.
Locks of love: Pero's Bridge over the harbour is weighed down by many hundreds of padlocks, which often bear the initials of couples as a way of showing their affection for each other. The bridge is named after slave Pero Jones, who lived in the city.
Rising to the top: Parsons Bakery, which began in Clevedon in 1926, has moved to an employee ownership meaning the family business, which has branches all over the West, is now effectively owned by its 400 staff.
Flying the flag: In the week of St George's Day, you can rely on the Three Lions pub on West Street to show a bit of patriotism.
Play on: Cricket fans were back at the Seat Unique Stadium in Bristol to watch Gloucestershire take on Leicestershire this weekend.
Top deck: Sometimes the best way to see the murals of Stokes Croft is from the seats at the front of the 75 or 76 bus (other buses are available).
Never forget: An exhibition highlighting the impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine is on in the city centre. Erased from the Face of the Earth can be seen at the M Shed until 20 July.
Taking over: Adam Flint has been named as the new chair of the Bristol Hoteliers Association. Mr Flint, general manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton in the city centre, has taken over from Raphael Herzog.
All in a good cause: Law firm Burges Salmon transformed its Bristol HQ into a fine dining venue to raise more than £10,000 for various charities, helped by celebrated chef Josh Eggleton MBE.

Claire Hughes MP was gifted ticket to the BAFTA Games Awards
Ms Hughes, who was elected last July, has declared the ticket on her register of financial interests. This states that, on April 8, the UK Interactive Entertainment Association Ltd gifted the ticket, valued at £700, which she accepted the same day. The BAFTA Games Awards, which were this year held on April 8 and hosted by comedian Phil Wang, celebrates achievements in the video game industry in the last 12 months. Ms Hughes' Labour colleague, Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols, was also gifted hospitality at the event, also worth £700. Ms Nichols stated in her own register of financial interests that this was 'in my capacity as chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on video games and e-sports". Ms Hughes is not a member of this APPG. All of the other items on Ms Hughes' register of financial interests date back to last year. These include a £10,000 donation from Labour Together Ltd, which was 'to support campaign activities leading up to the general election'. Ms Hughes was approached for further comment by the Pioneer. She posted on her Facebook page this afternoon: "Wales is starting to become a significant player in the global gaming landscape. But I want North Wales to have a much bigger slice of the pie. "At the start of Easter recess, I attended the BAFTA Games Awards celebrating the best of the UK games industry with UK Interactive Entertainment. "I'm not a gamer myself. As someone who previously worked in the sector, though, I recognise the massive value of the sector and opportunity for growth; the video games sector is bigger than the music and film sectors combined, contributing almost £7bn a year to UK GVA. "Recent growth in video games in Wales is thanks partly to support from Welsh Government including the Games Scale Up Fund for Wales, which last week announced a total of £850,000 funding support for Wales-based developers via Creative Wales. "But with the creative industries highlighted as one of the key growth areas in the UK Government's upcoming Industrial Strategy, we could be doing much more to encourage young people to consider a career in immersive entertainment, and to support up-and-coming businesses to thrive. "We have brilliant opportunities for people to gain the skills to build a career in the industry in our area - Coleg Llandrillo have long offered highly respected courses in 3D arts and games development, and the recent investment in a state-of-the-art new campus in Bangor makes it clear the Welsh Government is serious about putting pounds behind promises. "I hope that in future years, we will see games made in Wales featured at the gaming BAFTAs. More than that, though - I want more young people in Bangor Aberconwy knowing that a career in video games is up for grabs. "I'll be doing more on this over the summer, including workshops for school-leavers and an industry roundtable. If this is something you're interested in being part of, get in touch."

Mum-of-22 Sue Radford flies family back to Disney Florida weeks after spending £50k on the same trip for her birthday
Plus, the staggering price of flights for the bumper family MAGICAL YEAR Mum-of-22 Sue Radford flies family back to Disney Florida weeks after spending £50k on the same trip for her birthday Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JUST months after parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford flew to Florida for Sue's £50,000 bumper 50th birthday trip - the family is back at Disney once more. The Morecambe-based brood has shared snaps from the popular holiday resort, including watching fireworks and enjoying giant slushies. After walking away with some bites, they then caught some fireworks going off in the nearby theme park. The kids then seemed thrilled as they got super-sized slushy drinks to enjoy. This follows the Radfords having a sun-soaked extravaganza in Florida in April, which is estimated to cost them £52,000. Despite telling The Daily Mirror they have been "feeling the pinch" financially, they said they planned to spare no expense on the holiday of a lifetime. Sue and Noel star in Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting and also earn money from their business Radford's Pie Company. £26,000 flights Sue and her husband Noel not only took their own children to Florida in April, but all of their grandchildren with them too - making the most of the Easter break from school. Sue, 50, and Noel, 54, are parents to Chris, 36, Sophie, 31, Chloe, 29, Jack, 28, Daniel, 26, Luke, 24, Millie, 23, Katie, 22, James, 21, Ellie, 20, Aimee, 19, Josh, 17, Max, 16, Tillie, 15, Oscar, 13, Casper, 12, Haillie, 10, Phoebe, 8, Archie, 7, Bonnie, 6, and Heidie, 5. Sadly the couple's 17th child Alfie was still born on July 6, 2014. All in, the family are thought to have sent a jaw-dropping £26,228 on flights - and that's before the excess charges or any extra baggage. Millie Radford sparks concern of the family feud reigniting as she says she wants to go 'home' during Florida holiday It's not known if the whole family is back out for their second visit. £20k park tickets Based on the cost of a seven-day Disney visit, which would require each guest to hold a 7-Day Magic Ticket for entrance, Sue and Noel could have forked out £20,065 for each of their Florida trips this year. Luckily for Sue and Noel, children under the age of three go free. So some of the children on the trip won't cost a penny to get into the park. The tickets include access to the park and water parks with the eligibility to enter multiple parks per day. Holders will also have the 'memory maker' package which includes unlimited Disney photopass downloads - pictures taken by photographers around the park, on rides and in restaurants. 7 Sue shared how they visited an epic cake shop at Disney during this trip Credit: Instagram 7 The kids seemed thrilled at stocking up on some tasty treats Credit: Instagram £6k accommodation Sue and Noel have spoken about their approach to holiday accommodation previously, while appearing on the This Morning show - they revealed they usually opt for a villa to save costs and ensure the bunch can bunk close together. Last September, they shared an Orlando Villa Tour on their Facebook page to their 944,000 followers. One eagle-eyed viewer recognised the accommodation as similar to a property listed on rental site, Vrbo. The glam Vrbo house sleeps 15 - so Sue and Noel will need to book 3 to comfortably house all 39 travellers. The accommodation costs £300 per night, working out at £2,100 per villa for a week and £6,300 in total for all three. And that's without any food in the villa or out in the parks. 7 Renting holiday accommodation when you have 22 kids certainly doesn't come cheap Credit: Instagram 7 Sue during her first trip to Florida at Easter Credit: Instagram
