Achieving a dream is one of the greatest sources of happiness. Tanmay Gupta, born into a family of doctors in Jammu, had secured All India Rank(AIR) 1 in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021. However, despite having grandparents and parents who were doctors, Tanmay Gupta's journey was not an easy one. Initially, he began preparing for the NEET UG exam as early as 11th grade.
Tanmay Gupta, secured All India rank one in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021. He stated that continuing with his hobbies helped him focus on studies. Tanmay scored 720 marks out of 720 in NEET UG 2021. He obtained 99.9998057 percentile in NEET. In an interview with news agency ANI(2021) in Jammu, Tanmay said, 'I started preparing in standard 11 and studied 4 to 5 hours a day. I continued my hobbies with my studies. If you continue your hobbies, you will have more interest in studies.' 'I have represented Jammu and Kashmir in swimming at the national level. Smart study is very important. My parents supported me a lot. They regularly visited me when I was in Delhi,' he was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI. His father, Dr Akshay Gupta, in an interview with ANI, stated, 'Whether it was sports or studies, he used to focus a lot. In class 10, he had scored 100 marks in Maths. To get good colleges and for All India Quota, he went to Delhi. I was expecting that he will score 700 but this was completely unexpected.'
'I want to say to the youngsters of Jammu and Kashmir that Tanmay had two qualities. First, he used to set a daily target and complete it at any cost. Second, he has consistency and focus. We are really very proud of him,' Dr Shivali Gupta, Tanmay's mother, spoke to ANI. Tanmay is one of the three students who scored 720 marks. The other two are Mrinal Kutteri and Karthika G Nair.
As per the Careers360 report, Tanmay hails from Jammu. He completed his schooling till Class 10 in Jammu only. Later, he went to Delhi for his schooling. He cracked the NEET exam in first attempt.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected in this difficult time,' his post read further. Meanwhile, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also offered his condolences. 'I got the sad news of the death of people in the stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. May Marang Buru give peace to the souls of the departed and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this moment of grief. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the stampede,' Soren posted on X. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee also consoled the loss of lives. 'Shocked and saddened by the tragic stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones in this unimaginable tragedy. Earlier, following the tragic incident, the Karnataka government announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of each deceased in the stampede near the Chinnaswamy stadium. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed a press conference and said that the government would also provide free treatment to the injured. 'A major tragedy occurred during the victory celebrations. It happened near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the deceased. The government will provide free treatment to the injured,' the CM said. Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, CM Siddaramaiah said, '11 died and 33 were injured in the stampede. This tragedy should not have happened. The government expresses deep sorrow over this incident.' The Karnataka CM further asserted that he has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter. 'I don't want to defend this incident. Our government will not do politics on this. I have ordered a magisterial inquiry and given 15 days' time. People even broke the gates of the stadium. There was a stampede. No one expected such a huge crowd. The stadium has a capacity of only 35,000 people, but 2-3 lakh people came,' CM Siddaramaiah said. (ANI)
