Alexander-Arnold bids final Liverpool farewell with emotional 15-word message

Trent Alexander-Arnold said he had the "perfect send off" as his time with Liverpool came to an end following the expiry of his contract. The right-back has spent his entire career at Anfield, but will now move on.
Alexander-Arnold's future, along with those of captain Virgil van Dijk and top scorer Mo Salah, has dominated the headlines for months and he eventually became the only one of the three in red not to have signed a new deal. The Englishman eventually communicated a desire to pursue a new challenge - which is believed to be with Real Madrid.
The move has not yet happened with the right-back wanting to focus on his football. He leaves Anfield a Premier League champion for the second time and bid an emotional farewell to his home supporters on the final day of the season.
Alexander-Arnold was in tears at the full-time whistle but later hoisted the trophy aloft in front of the Kop. He was then involved in a victory parade on Monday as thousands lined the streets.
Now the dust has settled and the 26-year-old has made his feelings clear on social media: "Perfect send off. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love my city."
Alexander-Arnold has been keen to underline his love for the city, the club and the fans amid a mixed reaction to his exit news. Several fans have aired their frustration with some booing him when he came off the bench against Arsenal earlier this month.
He was widely cheered on his farewell appearance against Crystal Palace however and Arne Slot was pleased to see the defender enjoy such a reception. 'He deserved it. I am very happy for him and everyone in and around the club that things worked out the way they did," said the Dutchman.
'It went brilliant when our fans are together. How brilliant they were before the Tottenham game, during the Tottenham game and afterwards I don't think you see as many special celebrations as you saw four weeks ago.
'I don't think you see many celebrations like we had them today. It's no surprise to me that they (the fans) were brilliant again today as they were throughout the whole season, as they were towards Trent.

Reynolds and McElhenney 'ready to sell their stake' as Wrexham's value soars
Wrexham are gearing up for a season in the Championship and co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are looking to bring extra investment into the Welsh club Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are said to be willing to sell a stake in Wrexham following their promotion to the Championship. Wrexham have enjoyed a remarkable rise since they were bought by Reynolds and McElhenney back in 2021 for around £2million. The club has been promoted three times in four full seasons under the two Hollywood stars, rising from the National League to the Championship; now they are looking to raise additional funds in a bid to help Wrexham go one step further and reach the Premier League. According to a report from Bloomberg, Reynolds and McElhenney are considering selling a stake in the club for a valuation of up to £350m. Earlier this year, the Allyn family became minority investors, with Wrexham valued at around £100m. However, the club's profile has risen further following their recent promotion and the report states that Wrexham are now working investment bank advisers to gauge potential interest. A £350m valuation would make Wrexham the most expensive team in Championship, with Sheffield United recently bought for around £111m by an American consortium. 'Nothing would tempt me to sell him'
