Police conduct flag march in Sambhal after HC order
: Following the Allahabad high court order, the police conducted a flag march in Sambhal city on Monday evening.
Superintendent of police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said, 'Keeping the court's decision in mind, Sambhal police is carrying out foot patrols. Cyber space is also being monitored.'
'I appeal to everyone not to make any remarks that would question the dignity of the court or target any other community. No abusive comments should be made. No disturbance to peace and tranquillity will be tolerated —if anyone attempts such actions, strict action will be taken against them.'
Advocate Shakeel Warsi, representing the Jama Masjid Management Committee, said, 'The high court has dismissed the petition, and it has passed the order as it deemed appropriate. We respect that. If the legal committee advises further action, it will be considered.'
On the matter of the trial, he said, 'If there is an order that proceedings should continue in the lower court, then they will proceed, and we will cooperate. We will comment further only after reviewing the high court's order.'
Warsi said the next hearing date in this case at the civil judge's court in Chandausi, Sambhal, is already scheduled for July 3.
Advocate Gopal Sharma, representing the Hindu side, said, 'We welcome the Hon'ble High Court's decision. The petition was bound to be dismissed as per legal norms. The trial is already ongoing here. The Supreme Court had previously granted a stay, and their writ petition had been transferred to the high court. Now the decision has been delivered—the stay is automatically nullified, and the trial will continue.'
Meanwhile, in the Sambhal violence case, police have so far sent a total of 85 accused to jail, including three women, and Zafar Ali, president of the Shahi Jama Masjid mosque management committee.

Jammu and Kashmir [India], June 11 (ANI): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday performed the first puja for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra at the Tawi riverfront, marking the ceremonial beginning of preparations for the annual pilgrimage. The puja was organised here on the occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima at the Tawi riverfront in Jammu, days ahead of the Amarnath Yatra. Earlier on Tuesday, a high-level security meeting chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS, was held to review preparations and strategise for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2025, officials said. The meeting was attended by Additional SP Udhampur, SDPOs, DySPs, and SHOs from Udhampur, Majalta, Rehambal, and Chenani, along with other officers involved in the Yatra arrangements. SSP Nagpure emphasised the importance of strong inter-agency coordination, robust security planning, and effective communication to tackle any challenges and ensure the safety of pilgrims. The discussions centred on key aspects such as security arrangements, intelligence sharing, traffic management, medical aid, emergency response, and logistical support. Special focus was laid on anti-narcotics operations. SSP Nagpure directed all officers to remain vigilant and conduct proactive drives to dismantle narco networks operating in the region. He also instructed officers to maintain a high level of alertness and operational readiness throughout the Yatra. Regular review meetings, briefing sessions, and mock drills were stressed to ensure the flawless implementation of all plans and protocols, officials said. The Amarnath Yatra is an annual Hindu pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir (J-K). The cave houses a naturally formed ice Shivling, believed to represent Lord Shiva, and draws lakhs of devotees every year. The Yatra is typically held during the Shravan month (July to August) as per the Hindu calendar, under the supervision of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and with coordinated support from security and civil administration. Addressing a gathering at Oxford Union in London, CJI Gavai said, 'The sub-classification within Scheduled Castes does not question the relevance or success of reservations. It seeks to ensure that those most historically deprived — even within these communities — are not left behind." CJI Gavai emphasised the role of the Indian Constitution as a 'social document" that confronts injustice head-on. 'The Constitution does not avert its gaze from the brutal truths of caste, poverty, exclusion, and injustice. It does not pretend that all are equal in a land scarred by deep inequality," he stated. 'Instead, it dares to intervene, to rewrite the script, to recalibrate power, and to restore dignity," he added. States Empowered To Sub-Classify SCs To Grant Quota To More BCs Within Reserved Category: SC Last year, the Supreme Court held that states are constitutionally empowered to make sub-classifications within the Scheduled Castes, which form a socially heterogeneous class, for granting reservation for the uplift of castes that are socially and educationally more backward. 'The State in exercise of its power under Articles 15 (non-discrimination against any citizen on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth) and 16 (equality of opportunity in public employment) of the Constitution is free to identify the different degrees of social backwardness and provide special provisions (such as reservation) to achieve the specific degree of harm identified," held the CJI in his 140-page judgement. Fraudsters pose as CBI officers, cji, dupe ex-scientist of Rs 1 crore
HYDERABAD: A 73-year-old retired chief scientist and his wife were digitally 'arrested' and duped of Rs 1.34 crore by cybercriminals who impersonated law enforcement officials and created a mock Supreme Court scene to intimidate the couple. In his complaint, the scientist said he received a call on May 31, allegedly from the Department of Telecommunications. The caller claimed a criminal case had been registered against him with the Ashoka Nagar police in Bengaluru. The call was transferred to a man posing as a police officer named Sandeep Rao, who said the scientist's Aadhaar number had been misused by a criminal, Sadakat Khan, arrested at New Delhi airport in connection with human trafficking and cybercrime. The scientist was then connected to another fraudster posing as a CBI officer, Akash Khulari, who sent forged documents bearing logos of the Supreme Court, Delhi Police and CBI. These included fake reports from the Karnataka Police and fabricated court orders. Under sustained psychological pressure, the couple was made to believe they faced imminent arrest. The scientist was told to attend a 'virtual Supreme Court hearing' and follow protocols such as wearing white and standing when the 'chief justice' appeared on a video call. 'My wife and I followed these instructions. We were told to remain seated only when he took his seat,' he said in the complaint. The fraudsters threatened him with charges of money laundering and drug trafficking and asked him to reveal his bank balances for 'assessment'. Claiming the money needed to be 'verified' by the court's accountant, they coerced him into transferring Rs 1.34 crore via RTGS, promising it would be refunded after the investigation. Realising later that he had been conned, the scientist approached friends, who advised him to approach the police. He then filed a complaint with the Rachakonda Cyber Crime police, who have registered a case under relevant sections and launched an investigation.
