Projecting Michigan football spring ball 2025 offense depth chart two-deep
While the Michigan football defense doesn't have a ton of questions, the offense absolutely does. There's a new offensive coordinator in Chip Lindsey, there will likely be a new starting quarterback, new faces at the skill positions (namely transfers) and an offensive line that has a lot of questions that demand answers.
Spring will provide an opportunity for the Wolverines to figure out what they have on the offensive side of the ball, namely at quarterback. But some other positions, like running back, will be looking to figure out who can provide depth. Wide receiver needs playmakers and is wide open.
With that in mind, here is our spring ball depth chart with the first practice having started on Tuesday.
Quarterback
Starter Backup Mikey Keene (or) Bryce Underwood Jadyn Davis
This is the way we see it: Underwood is going to have to earn the starting job in order to be the first man out on Aug. 30. And Mikey Keene, though not as talented, knows everything to do in terms of pre-snap and the speed of the game that Underwood doesn't. Spring ball should help him get ahead of the curve, certainly, but for now, we can't pick between the two. But we believe it will be between the two.
Running back
Starters Backup Justice Haynes Jordan Marshall
This will likely be a co-starter situation, but we give the edge to Haynes over Marshall, despite the impressive ReliaQuest Bowl performance for the now-second-year player. The bigger question is who the third back will be and for now, we'd say it's Benjamin Hall, but Micah Ka'apana could have a say.
Wide receiver
Starters Backups Donaven McCulley Peyton O'Leary Semaj Morgan Andrew Marsh Kendrick Bell Amorion Walker
This might look a lot different after spring ball as Michigan will be getting UMass transfer Anthony Simpson in, and with the reset with Chip Lindsey taking over at offensive coordinator, every player will have an opportunity. We'd like to see Walker take a big step forward, as well as the two sophomores -- Channing Goodwin and I'Marion Stewart -- but for now, this is close to what we think the group looks like.
Tight ends
Starters Backups Marlin Klein Zack Marshall Hogan Hansen Brady Prieskorn Max Bredeson (FB) Jalen Hoffmann (FB)
We'd like to see Deakon Tonielli make a move, but he hasn't yet appeared in two years. Thus, we're giving a nod to Prieskorn to get involved. Klein and Hansen are likely entrenched as starters, as is team captain Bredeson at fullback. Eli Owens could get involved in heavy packages, as well.
Offensive line
Starters Backups LT: Nathan Efobi Andrew Babalola LG: Evan Link Luke Hamilton C: Greg Crippen Jake Guarnera RG: Giovanni El-Hadi Avery Gach RT: Andrew Sprague Blake Frazier
We'd slot incoming transfer Lawrence Hattar for Gach, but he doesn't arrive until summer. We'd like to see Connor Jones make a move, and it wouldn't be surprising either to see Brooks Bahr -- who switched from defensive line last year -- to make a move into the two deep. Link very well could be the starting tackle, but with some questions across the board, we're moving him inside and putting Efobi in as a starter for now.
This group definitely has question marks.

Savion Hiter dons Michigan uniform with Bryce Underwood in stunning recruiting photo shoot
Savion Hiter dons Michigan uniform with Bryce Underwood in stunning recruiting photo shoot Michigan football rolled out the maize and blue carpet for prospects who made their way to Ann Arbor this past weekend, especially with the Wolverines hosting arguably their top overall target. It hasn't exactly been a secret that the run-first Wolverines strongly covet 2026 Mineral (Va.) Louisa County five-star running back Savion Hiter, who has reciprocated the efforts ever since position coach Tony Alford jumped ship from Ohio State to the maize and blue. Hiter has been on campus several times, but this weekend marked his pivotal official visit, where Michigan would be able to pull no punches, showing him everything he needs to know should he decide to wear a winged helmet. Michigan went so far with the photo shoot it does with all the recruits as bringing in the 2025 No. 1 overall recruit, five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, to pose with Hiter, handing the ball off to him as would be the case if Hiter was to sign with the Wolverines. They also made the video that emulates what would be posted by the team on signing day if he's to enter the fray. Hiter posted both on Monday. Hiter is rated the No. 17 overall prospect, regardless of position, by the 247Sports Composite. He's also strongly considering Tennessee, Ohio State, and Georgia. Ann Arbor was his penultimate visit, with a trip to Knoxville taking place this upcoming weekend. The Vols are seen as the primary competition for Hiter's services.

Elite 2028 QB high on Michigan football after recent offer
The post Elite 2028 QB high on Michigan football after recent offer appeared first on ClutchPoints. 2028 quarterback Brady Quinn is named after Notre Dame legend Brady Quinn, but he just received an offer from one of the Fighting Irish's rivals. The Michigan football team extended an offer to the youngster after a recent camp, and it is an early team to watch for this prospect with a bright future. Advertisement 'WOW! After a great conversation with @ChipLindsey11 'm blessed to receive an offer from Michigan!!! #AGTG #GoBlue,' Brady Quinn announced earlier this week. It is incredibly early in Brady Quinn's recruitment as he just finished up his freshman year of high school, but the Michigan football team isn't wasting anytime getting him on their radar. The Wolverines have liked what they have seen, and Quinn is feeling good after securing the offer. 'This is a very special opportunity because I was given the chance to play for a National Championship team with some of the highest-level coaches,' Quinn said, according to an article from On3. 'It means a lot.' Quinn's game is going to develop and change throughout his high school career, but right now, he thinks that his skillset would work well in the Michigan offense. Advertisement 'Michigan is one of the best schools in the country with great tradition and I could see myself fitting into that offense,' he added. We aren't going to hear much about Quinn's recruitment for a couple of years, but when that time comes, expect Michigan to be one of his top schools. 'Being my first time up here and seeing the facilities and The Big House and working with the coaches, I just know that this is a school that's gonna be very high on my list,' Quinn admitted. Right now, head coach Sherrone Moore and the Michigan football coaching staff are mostly concerned about the 2026 recruiting class. However, it's never too early to starting putting in work with the 2028 class as well. Michigan football in hot pursuit of 5-star RB Savion Hiter in official visit this weekend
Michigan football recruiting is in full swing, with two official visit weekends down and two more coming up. The Wolverines have hosted some top targets, including five-stars Felix Ojo and Trenton Henderson, but this upcoming weekend will see the maize and blue bring in arguably its top overall target in the 2026 cycle. The maize and blue have made no bones about Mineral (Va.) Louisa County five-star running back Savion Hiter being near or atop their board. After taking off much of the month of May from a recruiting perspective, rebuilding momentum with Hiter is key, and soon, the Wolverines will have that opportunity. Hiter set to visit Ann Arbor Hiter has been on campus before, including during the season when he visited for the Oregon game in November 2024. Now, the five-star is set to make his way back to Ann Arbor for his official visit this weekend. Rated the No. 17 player in the country, regardless of position, Hiter is also the top-rated running back in the 2026 class. He's being recruited by Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford, who started developing their relationship when he was at Ohio State. That carried over to the Wolverines once he defected from the Buckeyes last spring. Outlook and scouting report Michigan appears to be battling Tennessee, Ohio State, and Georgia for Hiter's services. The Vols and Buckeyes both made moves while the Wolverines self-imposed recruiting restrictions in May. It's likely that Michigan still leads, but it has more work cut out for it than it had before. Advertisement 247Sports' Andrew Ivins has the evaluation, comparing him to Omarion Hampton -- who was last coached by new maize and blue offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey during his time at North Carolina: Juiced-up running back with star potential for a College Football Playoff contender given the mix of his burst, power, agility, balance and vision. Has dominated the combine setting (1.52 10-yard split, 4.12 shuttle, 36-inch vertical jump) and is equipped with ready-to-play mass as he's already tipping the scales at 200 pounds. Effective as both an inside and outside runner as he's quick to chart a course and charge forward. Fast feet allow him to side-step trouble as he frequently dances around would-be tacklers in the backfield and turns negative plays into positive plays. Core strength and a lower pad level routinely negate arm tackles while full-speed cuts make it even harder for defenders to get him on the ground, especially when he breaks through the first wave of obstacles. Hasn't caught a ton of passes at the prep level, but has proven to be a tricky cover at offseason camps and looks to have true three-down potential as his physicality will only continue to give him an advantage in pass protection. Overall, should be viewed as a gifted ball carrier that can be a multi-year impact player on Saturdays and provide valuable minutes as early as Year 1. Must avoid setbacks and remain hungry, but profiles as a future NFL Draft pick with his size, testing and feel for the position. Hiter has visited Ohio State and Georgia officially thus far, with Michigan up this weekend and Tennessee next. He has no predictions in as of yet, but Ohio State has the current On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine lead, despite most insiders being cautiously optimistic that the Wolverines are in the pole position. The maize and blue have been a run-first team in recent memory, and though there will be more of an onus on the pass game, Lindsey has shown during his time with the Tar Heels that he prefers balance, with prolific rushing to go along with a downfield aerial attack.
