'I'm certainly not involved too much in the politics of everything,' he said. 'Being on the board of this tour, and even just talking about, like, you know, changes to the tour championship, and all that. I've no idea what's going on, and I, you know, I think at this point, I don't care. You know, I just, I want to play golf, and the reason I got into this game was to shoot scores, and try to play the best golf possible."
It's clear that his renewed focus is paying off. McIlroy's post-Masters presence has been confident and relaxed. From his 53-foot bomb at Truist to his humor about media narratives.

"It was a great experience, but I'm happy with where I'm at right now," McIlroy seems lighter, unburdened.

'For the first time ever, all of Taylor Swift's albums received over 2 million daily streams on Spotify,' X account @chartstswift posted. It marks the first time ever any recording artist has had every one of their albums hit 2 million streams each all in the same day. Swift also had a milestone day on Saturday, seeing the biggest streaming day for any female artist this year, hitting 65 million streams on Spotify, despite not releasing any new music since April 19, 2024, when 'The Tortured Poets Department' was made available. There have been reports that Swift is expected to work on a new album for an end-of-year-release, but nothing has been confirmed by anyone in the 14-time Grammy winner's camp about it yet. Swift and Kelce have been spotted a few times this offseason having a date night, but the couple has actively been avoiding the public eye since the Super Bowl. But with the 2025 NFL season right around the corner, Chiefs fans will be seeing a lot more of the 'Fortnight' singer as it's been reported Swift is expected to attend most, if not all of Kelce's home games this season. McIlroy 'concerned' for US Open after driver issues
Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy says he is "concerned" by his form heading into the US Open next week after struggling with driver issues at the Canadian Open. The 36-year-old missed the cut at the Canadian Open on Friday, finishing nine over par and 149th in a 153-man field. McIlroy's previous driver was ruled non-conforming on the eve of last month's US PGA Championship, with the Northern Irishman going on to finish 47th in North Carolina. With a new 44-inch driver in hand, McIlroy found just 13 of 28 fairways in Toronto and he made a quadruple-bogey eight on the par-four fifth hole after a disastrous tee-off. "Of course it concerns me," said McIlroy. "You don't want to shoot high scores like the one I did today. I felt like I came here, obviously with a new driver, thinking that sort of was going to be good and solve some of the problems off the tee, but it didn't. Obviously for me, when I get that part of the game clicking, then everything falls into place for me. Right now that isn't. Yeah, that's a concern going into next week." With play starting on 12 June, McIlroy has little time to iron out his issues from the tee. But the five-time Major winner says he will test several drivers in the coming days to find the right one. "I'm going to have to do a lot of practice and a lot of work over the weekend at home and try to at least have a better idea of where my game is going into next week," said McIlroy.
