Coach's pride at winning back-to-back national rugby titles
The southeast Londoners beat Smiths Rugby 33-19 in a hard-fought contest thanks to tries from Reis Norman, Matthew Chick, Luca Petrozzi, Cam Hancock and Ben Adamson.
The result meant Old Elthamians made it back-to-back triumphs at the Home of Rugby having beaten Wigan 45-22 in the Counties 3 Championship final in 2024.
And it was not lost on Lach about what his side had achieved.
'Two years running, wow,' he said. 'I am so proud of the boys. We have come a long way this year. We went unbeaten last year throughout the season.
'We have only lost one game this year in the league, but obviously we are unbeaten in the cup, so it means we have only lost one in our last 57 matches, which is pretty impressive.'
Old Elthamians' Norman broke the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes as the No. 8 burst over the try line off the back of a scrum.
Smiths responded midway through the first 40 minutes as Jack Davies was found in acres of space on the left wing and made no mistake when he dotted down.
Old Elthamians retook the lead soon after however, when Chick went over from close-range to give his team the lead at half time.
Petrozzi's quick tap-and-go allowed him to extend Old Elthamians' advantage two minutes into the second period, with fly-half Joe Leigh making it a hat-trick of successful conversions.
Smiths reduced their arrears through captain Ben Hawker's converted effort to leave the score 21-14 with approximately half an hour left to play.
But tries from Hancock and Adamson put the game beyond doubt, with John Bryant's score late on little more than a consolation for Smiths.
Lach also explained that he hopes the victory can provide his side with a springboard ahead of next season.
He continued: 'It did last year, so hopefully it can again. We will wait and see what the summer brings and where we are to start the season but let us hope so.
'This competition is great. It is sponsored by the RFU, and clubs should enter it because it gives players a day out, it really is massive.'

Mbeumo is likely to be a starter whether he joins Tottenham or United, but Frank may lean on the fact that the north Londoners can offer Champions League football following their Europa League triumph. Frank has admitted that Mbeumo was likely to move on given the interest in him and Brentford's record of selling for big profits. 'It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount,' he said. 'It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot. How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player.' Tottenham have yet to make any major signings this summer and there is talk of Son Heung-min leaving the club after a decade of service. United meanwhile have already spent £62.5m to land Matheus Cunha from Wolves but bringing in more firepower is a priority.

McKenna, 39, is still regarded as one of England's brightest young coaches despite Ipswich's relegation from the top-flight last term. And Brentford would represent an opportunity for the Northern Irishman to make an instant return to the Premier League. McKenna was the subject of interest from some of the Premier League's elite last summer after guiding the Tractor Boys to successive promotions. But he opted to stay put at Portman Road, penning a contract until 2028 which contains a significant release clause. Tottenham will also have to pay a significant sum - around £10million - in compensation to extract Frank from his contract with Brentford after the club inserted a big buy-out clause when he signed his most recent deal in 2022. Manchester United are determined to make Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo their second signing of the summer but they could face competition from one of their Premier League rivals Thomas Frank has told Spurs he wants them to rival Manchester United for £60million Bryan Mbeumo. Frank is set to be confirmed as Ange Postecoglou 's successor next week and is keen to take Brentford's in-demand forward with him to north London. Mbeumo would represent a statement signing for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who could trump United's bid with Champions League football. Although United remain favourites for the 25-year-old's signature, Mbeumo now has a decision as to whether to follow his head or his heart. The Cameroon international bagged 20 league goals over the past season to attract the attention of United and Newcastle with the Magpies' January move for him rejected. Only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland outscored him in the top flight last term, while his seven assists were also key in helping Brentford to a top-half finish. United have made two bids for him with the player, as things stand, open to a move and undeterred by their poor first season under Ruben Amorim. Mbeumo has a year left on his contract with an option for an extra year. But United, who have held extensive talks with his representatives for some time, have yet to agree a deal with Brentford, leaving the door open for Spurs to make their move. The offer on the table at Old Trafford is around £150,000-a-week with add-ons taking the package up to £200,000-a-week. Spurs would offer Mbeumo around £130,000-a-week and although bonuses would still leave them short of the United package, the north Londoners would still have the pull of Champions League football and Frank - who turned Mbeumo into one of the most feared forwards in the top flight. Mbeumo's hot streak last season ended fears that the Bees would struggle after seeing star striker Ivan Toney leave for Saudi Arabia on Transfer deadline day in August.
