Tonight, the Netherlands will begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with an away match against Finland at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki.
The match is part of Group 7, which also includes Poland, Lithuania, and Malta.
Despite being ranked 6th in the FIFA World Ranking, the Netherlands are struggling with inconsistent performances and results.
The team had two wins in their last nine international matches, the latest being a dramatic 5-5 draw with Spain in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals, which ended with a penalty shootout loss.
The Netherlands aim to make up for lost ground in the qualifiers, as they have yet to play a match, while Poland leads the group with 6 points.
The Dutch hope for a crucial win to strengthen their chances of securing direct qualification.
On the other hand, Finland will step into the match with strong motivation, as they are aiming for their first-ever World Cup appearance.
The Finnish team had a solid start to the qualifiers under their new coach, Jakob Fes, who took over the role in January.
Finland collected four points from their first two matches, securing a win over Malta and a draw against Lithuania.

Ronaldo Declines Brazil's Fluminense Offer to Participate in 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

Rana Atef On Saturday, media reports indicated that Cristiano Ronaldo turned down the opportunity to play for Brazilian side Fluminense in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Fluminense President Mario Bettencourt confirmed that the club reached out to Ronaldo to join the team ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Bettencourt shared the details on the Setor Sul podcast, saying, "I have a relationship with Jorge Mendes (Ronaldo's agent), but it's not very close. I asked him if there was any possibility of Cristiano playing in the Club World Cup, and he was very clear in stating that he is not interested in playing for any Brazilian club at the moment." Rumours had circulated last month that a Brazilian club had approached Ronaldo for a potential move, especially given that four Brazilian teams—Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo, and Fluminense—are participating in this year's Club World Cup. Mendes' comments suggest that Ronaldo is not considering any of these four Brazilian clubs for the prestigious tournament, effectively ruling them out if he plans to feature in the global event. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

Inter Milan Reach Official Agreement with Romanian Coach Cristian Chivu

Rana Atef On Friday, Inter Milan reached an official agreement with Romanian coach Cristian Chivu, former manager of Parma, to take over as head coach of the first team, succeeding Italian Simone Inzaghi. Inzaghi departed Inter Milan to take over as head coach of Saudi club Al Hilal in the upcoming period. According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement involves a two-year contract, a decisive step taken after negotiations with Cesc Fàbregas, coach of Como, fell through. Fàbregas had been a prominent candidate for the position. Cristian Chivu is no stranger to Inter fans, having played for the club during his playing career. He also held various coaching roles in the club's youth sector, where he led the U-19 team to the Italian youth league title. Last season, Chivu took on his first managerial experience at the senior level with Parma, stepping in under difficult circumstances when the team was 18th in Serie A, just one spot above relegation, during the 26th round of the league. However, Chivu successfully guided Parma to safety, finishing the season in 16th place, avoiding relegation to Serie B. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

Jorginho Signs with Brazil's Flamengo

Rana Atef On Friday, the Brazilian side Flamengo announced the signing of Italian-Brazilian midfielder Jorginho from English Premier League side Arsenal, ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Jorginho signed a contract that runs until July 2028, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career that started in Brazil before making a name for himself in European football. He is set to wear the number 21 jersey with the team and will be ready to participate in the global tournament next summer. Jorginho was born in Brazil but moved to Italy in 2008 while still a youth player. There, he gained Italian citizenship, later rising to prominence with Napoli, where he spent four successful seasons, winning the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup. In 2018, he took a major step in his career by moving to the English Premier League, signing with Chelsea. At Chelsea, he enjoyed his best years, winning the 2019 UEFA Europa League against Arsenal, the 2021 UEFA Super Cup (where he was named Man of the Match in the final), and the FIFA Club World Cup in the same season. Jorginho transferred to Arsenal in January 2023, where he played in several matches until the end of the most recent season. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
