What time and TV channel is Constitution Hill v State Man on today?

Punchestown hosts an epic clash this evening as the past three Cheltenham Champion Hurdle winners collide at the Co Kildare venue.
It's Constitution Hill v State Man once again after both horses fell at Cheltenham just under two months ago.
State Man looked to have the race at his mercy when falling at the last, with Golden Ace powering up the hill to win the day one feature in the Cotswolds for trainer Jeremy Scott and jockey Lorcan Williams, who takes the ride again.
Paul Townend partners State Man once more, but Nico de Boinville misses the ride on Constitution Hill through injury, with James Bowen partnering the eight-year-old for the first time.
Nicky Henderson is calling Friday's race a "decider". Here's everything you need to know about it:
The race takes place at Punchestown on Friday, May 2.
The feature contest is scheduled to start at 6.40pm.
Both RTE Two and Racing TV will show the race live, with RTE's coverage starting at 4pm.
Nicky Henderson: 'He's in good form and it will be a fascinating race and it is a decider between three of them really, and there's three others in the race as well.'
Patrick Mullins: 'State Man was unlucky and lucky at Cheltenham.
'It was an awful fall. It was great that he got up. He seemed 100 per cent afterwards. It doesn't seem to have knocked his confidence at all so it's going to be fascinating to see the two English horses come over and take him on, on home soil.
'I think he was well in the process of redeeming his reputation at Cheltenham and I would be expecting him to redeem it even further at Punchestown, so bring it on!'
Jeremy Scott: 'She's very well. I'm very, very happy with her. She left on Wednesday morning and I'm very happy with the preparation.
'Who knows what would have happened had they stood up, but we'll get a bit more of an answer. It's a different track, and from my point of perspective huge expectation, but obviously we'd like her to prove herself a worthy Champion Hurdle winner.
'That was always the plan (a rest) having had a couple of quick runs so she's going there fresh and well.
'They're telling me they are aiming for good to soft and if they achieve that then I'll be very happy on that.'

Lauren Walsh shares top spot at Tenerife Women's Open

Kildare's Lauren Walsh sizzled to an opening round of 67 at the Tenerife Women's Open to share the lead at Abama Golf with Denmark's early pacesetter Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen on five under par. The Dane held the outright advantage for most of the day, but Walsh's late bogey-free charge ensured the two-time Curtis Cup star of a place alongside her at the top of the leaderboard. Walsh birdied three of her first five holes, with further birdies arriving on 10 and 18 on a day when the 24-year-old demonstrated impressive prowess with her putter. "We were last out so it's been a long day, but I played nicely," Walsh said after her round. "I hit it pretty consistently and holed a lot of putts. "There's a couple quirky holes so you have to plod your way around and play smart golf. "It's definitely tricky, but thankfully my coach has been out here quite a lot so he had me briefed on a lot of the golf course before I got here. So I sort of knew what to expect. "In general, it sets things up very well for me and I'm really happy." Kibsgaard Nielsen, who has yet to miss a cut in 2025 on the Ladies European Tour, registered six birdies and one bogey. "It started off a little bit slow," she admitted. "But then I got it going and was able to hit some fairways. "This course is not easy, so I just tried to stay in the moment and take one shot at a time." England's Eleanor Givens recorded six birdies and dropped two shots for a round of 68 to occupy second spot a shot further back, with France's Ariane Klotz and the Dorthea Forbrigd from Norway joint-third on thee under. Order of merit leader Mimi Rhodes stalks the leaders on two under, with the English woman sharing sixth place with 10 of her rivals, after a round of 70 which featured a hole-in-one on the par-three seventh. Sir Alex Ferguson curse strikes again with two more Man Utd title winners sacked and LEAGUE ONE boss rare success story

FOOTBALL management, bloody hell — Sir Alex Ferguson made it look so easy that a load of his former Manchester United stars tried it. To say most find it extremely difficult would be an understatement. 7 Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United proteges are not faring very well in management Credit: Getty 7 Man Utd hero Michael Carrick was sacked by Middlesbrough Credit: Getty 7 Wayne Rooney failed to succeed in various managerial positions Credit: Getty 7 Gary Neville suffered a devastating run at Valencia Credit: Getty None of his protegees have come remotely close to what the great Scot managed in his trophy-laden career. Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley are the latest former Fergie apprentices to see their first permanent jobs in English management end with the axe. Ruud van Nistelrooy, Carrick, 43, showed a lot of early promise — taking Boro to the play-offs in his first full season in 2022-23 after a fourth-placed finish — but lost to Coventry in the semi-finals. Read More on Man Utd He failed to make the end-of-term Championship lottery in the following two campaigns — and The Teessiders announced Carrick's exit in a brief 61-word statement. It was in stark contrast to the relative love letter Watford released to tell the world they had Carrick's former midfield partner, 35, finished his only season as a boss in 14th — not enough to convince the Hornets he deserved a second campaign. 'He deserves to be recognised for this and I'm sure he will have a bright future in the game.' 'What did he expect?' - Sir Alex Ferguson looks 'absolutely disgusted' in new footage from Man Utd Europa League loss The Dutchman was one of the greatest goalscorers the Premier League has ever seen after crashing in 150 goals in 219 Red Devils games between 2001 and 2006. So there was a huge irony when his Foxes side failed to net for EIGHT consecutive Prem matches — all of them defeats — between February and April. It all leaves the managerial success stories of Ferguson's former players looking increasingly thin on the ground. Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville are two of the more disastrous examples. With Rooney's ill-fated spells at Birmingham and Plymouth and the latter's Valencia horror show. No one could keep up Roy Keane won Sunderland promotion but his last job was Ipswich in 2011. Blink and you would have missed Paul Scholes' 31 days managing Oldham. Ryan Giggs' personal problems look to have kiboshed his coaching ambitions. Jaap Stam got Reading to a play-off final but left the club a year later, while compatriot Robin van Persie's Heerenveen lost 9-1 to AZ Alkmaar in September — though he is now in charge of Feyenoord. Mark Robins, the man who saved Fergie's job with a famous FA Cup goal back in 1990, has had a middling start at Stoke after working wonders at Coventry. Phil Neville is in the MLS, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Turkey and Mark Hughes has been relegated to the National League with Carlisle United despite bossing six Prem teams across 18 years. Arguably, the biggest hit is Steve Bruce, in charge of Blackpool and having managed more than 1,000 games — but don't tell Newcastle fans that. And with 12 years now passing since Fergie retired, the options of his former players who could still turn their talent to management is fast running out. Ex-Arsenal player jailed for drug smuggling plot

FORMER ARSENAL player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was jailed for four years on Thursday for his involvement in a £600,000 (€712,000) drug smuggling plot. The 34-year-old was arrested in September last year after officers seized roughly 60 kilograms of cannabis brought through London's Stansted Airport by two women he had recruited — his girlfriend and her friend — on a flight from the Thai capital Bangkok via Dubai. An earlier hearing heard the women — who were found not guilty — believed they were importing gold. Advertisement Emmanuel-Thomas, who pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to a smuggling charge, was sacked by Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton after his arrest. His lawyer conceded the father-of-two had made a 'catastrophic error of judgment' after falling on financial hard times. A highly promising graduate of Arsenal's academy, Emmanuel-Thomas made five appearances for the Gunners before leaving the north London club in 2011. The English player went on to feature for Ipswich, Bristol City, QPR and Aberdeen among a host of other clubs, including Thai side PTT Rayong. Judge Alexander Mills said in imposing a four-year sentence: 'It's through your own action that you will no longer be known for playing professional football. 'You will be known as a criminal. A professional footballer who threw it all away.' – © AFP 2025
