Madhya Pradesh shopkeeper's son cracks NEET, thanks YouTube, Nana and routine
For 18-year-old Prince Namdev, becoming a doctor wasn't just an ambition, it was his family's dream stitched together with paan, thread, and a whole lot of belief.Hailing from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, Prince is the son of a small shopkeeper and a mother who does minor stitching work.'They earn about 8,000 rupees a month,' he says quietly, 'so it wasn't very easy to spend money on coaching.'advertisement
His younger sister is still in school, and every rupee in the house counts. So when NEET preparation came into the picture, the family turned to his Nana-ji (maternal grandfather), a retired nurse assistant, who stepped in without hesitation.THE START OF A DREAM'I didn't even know about NEET until I saw a video from Physics Wallah on YouTube in Class 10,' Prince recalls. He began watching Biology lectures and was told about the exam by a ma'am during one of the sessions. That was the beginning.'My Nana -ji helped pay for those online classes. He told me what it takes to become a doctor.'In Class 11, Prince gave the PW scholarship test 'last minute without studying' and didn't score too well. But with a bit more direction, he gave it again in Class 12 and secured a 100% scholarship to PW Vidyapeeth in Kota.
Prince with his family and Nana-ji
advertisement'That helped a lot and took away some burden from my Nana ji,' he says. The free tuition was a gamechanger -- suddenly the impossible seemed within reach.LIFE IN KOTA: EARLY MORNINGS AND NO SOCIAL MEDIAIn Kota, Prince settled into a routine that many toppers swear by: 'Wake up at 4 am, study, attend classes till evening, dinner, revision, and then sleep by 10:30.' No Instagram, no distractions. 'I stayed away from all social media. I knew that would waste my time.'But it wasn't all easy. Being away from home took a toll. 'Whenever I got sad or tired, I'd call my parents or play some mobile games. It helped.'Family was never far away, emotionally. 'My parents never pressured me. They just wanted me to do my best.'NANA-JI'S PRIDE, FAMILY'S JOYThrough it all, his Nana-ji stood like a rock -- paying for his early education with pension money and guiding him through the maze of medical preparation.'He's so happy right now. He's put my result on his WhatsApp status and is calling everyone to tell them,' Prince says with a shy smile.
Now that he's bagged Rank 975, the goal is clear: 'Like every other aspirant, I want to study at AIIMS.' He's already thinking about postgraduate specialisation.TO OTHERS LIKE HIMPrince has a simple message for other small-town kids dreaming big: 'Study well. Don't take pressure. Take a lot of tests. Take breaks and stay in touch with family or friends.'Dreams don't need big wallets -- sometimes they just need a Nana-ji, a scholarship, and a boy who is ready to wake up at 4 am to turn his dreams into reality.

Shark Tank India's Aman Gupta Prefers Life ‘Without' Work-Life Balance
Shark Tank India's Aman Gupta opens up about ditching work-life balance, disclosing his 16-18 hour workdays. Known for his unfiltered opinions and straight-shooting personality, Entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge Aman Gupta recently sat down for a candid conversation on a YouTube podcast with Prakhar Gupta. In a recent conversation, Aman Gupta delved into his personal life, sharing stories about his childhood, parenting experiences, and overcoming bullying. But what caught attention was his unapologetic take on 'work-life balance' – a concept he bluntly dismisses, labelling himself an extremist in his approach. In an interview with Prakhar Gupta, Aman Gupta shared his past experience of working 16-18 hours a day, stating he's perfectly fine with it. Reflecting on his journey, he said, 'Earlier, I didn't even know what work-life balance meant. However, Gen Z doesn't just work but also enjoys life. They take more risks, which we never used to, so there's a lot that I've learnt from people of this generation." He further elaborated on the driving force behind entrepreneurs like himself, sharing, 'As you get rich, you realise that it was never about money. As entrepreneurs, we are obsessed with growth and challenges. We want to grow and do something for mankind. There was a time when I used to go on holidays a lot, but then I got bored of it and started missing work, so it's always about growth." Furthermore, he candidly shared his intense work ethic, revealing, 'There was a time when I was extremely obsessed with work. I used to work 16 hours a day. However, one should know when to switch off from it. Moreover, I believe in imbalance." In a heartfelt tribute to his wife's support, he added, 'Till I was 40, meri wife ke paise se ghar chalta tha. I'm a very hardworking guy, but I've seen the ups and downs in life. I've burnt the midnight oil and everything to be where I am today. I don't remember much of when my daughter was growing up because I was busy working." First Published: June 19, 2025, 18:34 IST

Giannis Antetokounmpo's wife Mariah Riddlesprigger shuts down his newfound passion as the Greek Freak sought help from IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Mariah Riddlesprigger. Image via:Money has a loud noise, and everyone seems to fall for it, even Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. In a recent clip, having a chat with his wife Mariah Riddlesprigger, Antetokounmpo shared that he wants to stream and make loads of money. However, the idea was straightaway declined by his wife, who reminded him of existing responsibilities on his hands. Giannis Antetokounmpo's wife, Mariah Riddlesprigger does not want her husband to fall for streaming Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo may be one of the NBA 's most dominant forces on the court, but off the hardwood, he's considering an entirely different arena, live streaming. In a playful interaction with his wife, Mariah Riddlesprigger, Giannis opened up about his desire to step into the world of online content creation, sparking interest across social media and the streaming community. During a now-viral TikTok Live, Giannis turned to his fans and asked, 'Should I start streaming? IShowSpeed, Kai Cenat, help a brother out!' The questioncertainly showed his genuine curiosity about diving into the booming world of streaming. Giannis praised both Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed, calling them engaging and excellent at what they do. 'I've seen them how they're doing it, they're actually good at it. Engaging, they're very good!' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esse novo alarme com câmera é quase gratuito em Foz Do Iguaçu (consulte o preço) Alarmes Undo The two popular streamers, who have built massive audiences on Twitch and YouTube, were name-dropped repeatedly as Giannis contemplated following their lead. His interest appears to be more than a passing thought, it's part of a larger trend of elite athletes exploring ways to connect with fans beyond traditional sports media. However, not everyone in the Antetokounmpo household was sold on the idea. His wife, Mariah, quickly offered a practical perspective. When Giannis asked why he shouldn't pursue streaming, she immediately rejected the idea, 'Because we have four kids and a lot of other responsibilities.' The couple's humorous back-and-forth continued, as Giannis tried to justify the venture by pointing out the financial upside. 'Do you know how much money they make? They make a lot of money, baby.' Even though he already has a lucrative NBA contract— with $54 million set for the upcoming season and nearly $300 million earned in his career— Giannis seems intrigued by the challenge and creativity of streaming. He recently returned from a vacation in Brazil and appeared refreshed and reflective, perhaps setting the stage for new endeavors during what he called 'the greatest offseason of all time.' 'Basically, I'm having my own podcast without doing nothing,' Giannis joked. 'People are out here asking me questions.' His wife quipped in response, 'Which is what streamers do, right?' Here's everything you need to know about Los Angeles Lakers' new owner Of course, at this point, it is not clear if Giannis would actually follow on the idea of being a streamer as part of his side hustle, but Mariah is skeptical as she fears that the Greek Freak will be left with very little time for his family amid his already busy NBA schedule.
