Coinbase Hackers Used Bribery in Scheme to Access Customer Data
Following cybersecurity best practices doesn't always protect against human greed.
Scammers again proved that to be true by bribing Coinbase Global Inc. representatives based in India to steal customer data from the cryptocurrency company and then demanding a $20 million ransom.

An OpenAI exec says she was diagnosed with breast cancer and that ChatGPT has helped her navigate it
Kate Rouch, the chief marketing officer at OpenAI, shared on Friday that she was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer weeks after assuming the role, which she called her "dream job," in December. In a thread posted on X, Rouch said she was sharing her story to help other women, adding, "We can't control what happens to us--but we can choose how we face it. My biggest lesson: no one fights alone." Prior to joining OpenAI as the company's first CMO, Rouch was CMO at Coinbase and, before that, spent over a decade at Meta, including as vice president, global head of brand and product marketing. Rouch said she started treatment right around the Super Bowl in February, when OpenAI aired its first-ever ad, and that she has since gone through 13 rounds of chemotherapy while leading OpenAI's marketing team. She wrote that she is expected to make a full recovery. "It has been the hardest season of life — for me, for my husband, and for our two young children," Rouch said, adding she has been supported by OpenAI "at every step." "Silicon Valley can be brutal and transactional. And yet — I've never felt more held," she said, adding that "people showed up in incredible and unexpected ways." Rouch also said OpenAI's ChatGPT has helped her navigate her diagnosis and treatment, including by explaining cancer in a way that is age-appropriate for her kids, helping her manage the side effects of chemo, and creating custom meditations. "Experiencing our work as a patient has made OpenAI's mission feel more personal and important," she said. Rouch said she was sharing her story to encourage other women to "prioritize their health over the demands of families and jobs." "A routine exam saved my life. It could save yours, too," she said. Business Insider reached out to OpenAI for comment. Kevin Weil, the chief product officer at OpenAI, expressed support for Rouch in a reply to her thread. "We love you @kate_rouch!" he wrote. "Proud of you for telling your story and for being so full of fight."

Trump says his 'great relationship' with Elon Musk could be over
Trump says his 'great relationship' with Elon Musk could be over originally appeared on TheStreet. President Donald Trump said that his once 'great relationship' with Elon Musk could be ending as he defends his 'great big beautiful bill." "I don't know if we will anymore," he said when the press asked him about his relationship with Musk. At press time, the entire crypto market is painted red. Bitcoin is trading at $103,932.49, down by 1.25% over the last 24 hours, as per Kraken. Earlier this week, when Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong hinted that the 'big, beautiful bill' could inflate U.S. debt and make Bitcoin the reserve currency, Musk agreed and replied with a U.S. flag to his post. Musk has since then took to social media X to publicly criticize President Trump's spending bill describing it as a "Debt Slavery Bill' and noting it would add trillions to the national deficit. He also called for Americans to contact their representatives and posted a Kill Bill-style image blasting the bill. Seeing Musk's vocal support against the bill, the crypto community also responded by making a meme coin of the same name. However, Musk is not the only billionaire who has opposed this bill. Pro-crypto billionaire Tim Draper slammed the bill and proposed that Bitcoin could be the only hedge against the overspending the U.S. government is hooked to. Billionaire Ray Dalio also echoed a similar sentiment saying that the U.S. might be close to a debt crisis. He said, "this dynamic leads to a self-reinforcing debt, money-printing, and inflation spiral." At the time of writing, Tesla shares (TSLA) have also been impacted and is trading at $310.50, down by 6.59%. Lammy seeks to ‘deepen' UK-India ties on New Delhi visit
David Lammy will seek to deepen UK-India economic ties as he visits New Delhi this weekend, saying Britain's recently agreed trade deal with the country is 'just the start of our ambitions'. Trade and migration will be at the top of the agenda for the Foreign Secretary's trip, during which he will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and external affairs minister S Jaishankar. The Foreign Office said Mr Lammy would also raise 'the recent escalation in tensions following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and how the welcomed sustained period of peace can be best supported in the interests of stability in the region'. Pakistan and India agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire last month after rising hostilities between the two nuclear-armed rivals followed a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Ahead of the visit, Mr Lammy said: 'Signing a free trade agreement is just the start of our ambitions – we're building a modern partnership with India for a new global era. 'We want to go even further to foster an even closer relationship and co-operate when it comes to delivering growth, fostering innovative technology, tackling the climate crisis and delivering our migration priorities, and providing greater security for our people.' The Foreign Office said talks in New Delhi would aim to 'deepen and diversify the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries'. 'The Foreign Secretary will also welcome progress in our migration partnership, including ongoing work on safeguarding citizens and securing borders in both countries,' it said.
