NFL Network to air 2 Panthers games during 2025 preseason

NFL Network to air 2 Panthers games during 2025 preseason The Carolina Panthers are going to get a little extra exposure this summer. As announced on Wednesday, the NFL Network is set to cover 21 live preseason games in August—including two that feature the Panthers. Those contests will both emanate from Bank of America Stadium, with Carolina hosting the Cleveland Browns on Friday, Aug. 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET (Week 1) and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET (Week 3). Their opener against Cleveland will be preceded by a joint practice, something head coach Dave Canales talked about earlier this offseason. "We were just both curious about getting this joint practice going into preseason, and we got excited about the format of what that could look like,' Canales said of Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski at March's league meetings. "We feel like at that point in camp, you're starting to build some good capacity to be able to handle a little bit more volume, a little higher speed, and getting the competitive element. Particularly because we both plan on playing our guys in the preseason." Carolina's second exhibition outing, which locks them up with the Houston Texans, will also follow a joint practice. That matchup is slated for Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content.

Argentine sensation blocks PSG transfer as Real Madrid accelerate pursuit

After seemingly having decided to end their interest in Franco Mastantuono not so long ago, Real Madrid rekindled their pursuit of the Argentine wonderkid in the recent days. In fact, it appeared like the 17-year-old River Plate prodigy was headed for PSG, who had ramped up their efforts to sign him and were ready to activate his release clause. Advertisement But things have taken a sudden U-turn in recent hours as Real Madrid have already sent emissaries, led by chief scout Juni Calafat, to secure the Argentine sensation's signing. Mastantuono blocks PSG move for now Real Madrid are accelerating their pursuit of Mastantuono and intend to complete his signing within next week. And, according to Matteo Moretto, the 17-year-old prodigy also prefers a move to Real Madrid and as such has blocked the PSG move for now. Indeed, Mastantuono has paused the PSG operation for the time being so as to assess the proposal from Los Blancos and make his decision. What is clear is that the Argentine gem sees Real Madrid as his preferred destination, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Santiago Bernabeu has been the player's dream since he was a kid. Advertisement The Merengues are now in negotiations with the player's camp and the club to try and close the deal at the earliest possible, possibly by activating his €45 million release clause. Either way, the situation surrounding Mastantuono seems to have flipped completely over the past day. From PSG leading the race, it appears that the new European champions are now behind Real Madrid in the race.
