Woman led officers on chase with child in truck, hit 3 cruisers before arrest in Foxboro, police say
A woman driving a pickup truck led officers on a chase with a child in the vehicle and crashed into three cruisers before she was arrested in a parking lot in Foxboro on Thursday morning, authorities said.
Officers in Foxboro were attempting to stop a white Ford F-150 that was reported stolen out of Norton when the driver, prompting a chase, according ot the Foxboro Police Department.
The driver later struck stop sticks deployed by Massachusetts State Police, continuing on before she was cornered behind a medical building at 70 Walmut Street.
'During the pursuit, the operator struck three Foxboro police cruisers, causing damage,' the department said in a statement.
Video captured by a Boston 25 News photographer showed state and local police searching the truck after the crash.
Witnesses told Boston 25 News that the woman didn't surrender quietly.
'I saw her coming out of the car kicking and screaming with cops, putting up a fight,' a man told Bob Ward. 'She was fighting the firefighters.'
The driver, who hasn't been identified, and the child were taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
'There was a little boy who was taken out of the cruiser and brought to an ambulance so they could check him out,' a woman told Ward.
Police didn't say what charges the driver would face or if the woman and child were related.
There no injuries reported during the chase.
An investigation is ongoing.

Police car chase ends with arrest of Worcester man accused of crashing stolen truck four times
Tewksbury police arrested a Worcester man they say stole a truck and crashed it four times after a car chase Sunday afternoon. Daniel Riedl, 41, pleaded not guilty to four counts of leaving the scene of a car crash with property damage and one count each of larceny of a motor vehicle, negligent operation, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, failure to stop for police, speeding and a marked lanes violation during his arraignment in Lowell District Court on Monday, according to court records. On June 22, Tewksbury police received a report shortly after 1:20 p.m. that a white Ford F-250 had been stolen from the Petroil gas station on Main Street, the police department said in a press release. Officers soon located the truck and attempted to pull it over, but the driver — who was later identified as Riedl — did not stop for police. A short time later, the truck hit a nearby Honda Civic and fled the scene, police said. Tewksbury police then received reports of a crash involving the truck and a Kia Sorento. Officers soon located the stolen truck again, but decided to stop chasing it due to Riedl's dangerous driving, police said. They continued tracking it as Riedl drove toward I-495 south, but he crashed into a traffic light and backed into a Tewksbury police cruiser before continuing onto the highway. Officers then notified Massachusetts State Police of truck's location, and troopers soon pulled it over and arrested Riedl, Tewksbury police said. He was released on personal recognizance bail during his arraignment and is due back in court on July 22, according to court records. Mass. trooper ‘lucky to be alive' after being hit by motorcycle, prosecutor says
An 18-year-old man accused of crashing a motorcycle into a Massachusetts State Police lieutenant made no effort to avoid the uniformed trooper on Revere Beach Boulevard on Monday afternoon, a prosecutor said in court. The 18-year-old, Akram El Moukhtari, was ordered held on $50,000 bail during his arraignment in Chelsea District Court Tuesday afternoon, the amount requested by prosecutors. El Moukhtari is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, receiving stolen property and leaving the scene of an accident causing injury. The lieutenant, Donald Bossi, the station commander of the Revere barracks, is 'lucky to be alive' after being hit by the motorcycle and thrown 40 feet, Suffolk Assistant District Attorney John Verner said. 'That's not something I say lightly,' he said during the arraignment, which was attended by about two dozen uniformed state police troopers. El Moukhtari's parents sat quietly at the other end of the courtroom, not reacting as Verner laid out the case against their son. At the request of his defense attorney, El Moukhtari was arraigned out of view. El Moukhtari had been scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court Monday morning in connection with a fight at Revere High School, but the victim didn't show up, leading to the case being dismissed, Verner said. Roughly six hours later, Verner said, El Moukhtari was riding a stolen motorcycle at a high speed down Revere Beach Boulevard, blowing through red lights and popping wheelies. Bossi was in a parked cruiser on the side of the road, and got out to try and corral the bike. But El Moukhtari, despite seeing the uniformed trooper on a largely traffic-free street, continued forward, literally plowing into and running the lieutenant over near Shirley Avenue, Verner said. 'Not stopping, not swerving, not making any attempt, despite seeing the lieutenant, to not hit [him],' Verner said. Bossi sustained a broken and separated pelvis and several cuts that required stitches. His nose was broken to the extent that it was pushed in and cracked the orbital bone, Verner said. After the collision, El Moukhtari sped off down the boulevard where security cameras lost sight of him. Around 8:45 p.m. that night, he and his father surrendered at the state police barracks in Revere. During that time, the person El Moukhtari was with, a juvenile, told police El Moukhtari had FaceTimed him and admitted to hitting the trooper and fleeing the scene. Verner said there is a real possibility El Moukhtari could face more severe charges down the line, including assault with intent to murder. But his defense attorney, Carla Barrett, pushed back on the notion that the collision was intentional, saying the teenager 'panicked' at the sight of the trooper. Barrett asked Judge Matthew Machera to release El Moukhtari on his personal recognizance, explaining that his family's only income comes from Social Security and food stamps. El Moukhtari fell in with the wrong crowd at school, but was expected to get his diploma next spring, she said. 'What I see is a young man who's very, very scared ... and who was not sure exactly how to respond in the moment,' she said, noting that El Moukhtari's brain is still developing. 'I do not believe that he is somebody who would have seen a lieutenant in the road and then intentionally drove into that person. I think that this is more a matter of panic,' Barrett continued. But Machera ultimately set the $50,000 bail, citing the 'recklessness' with which El Moukhtari was driving at the time, and the 'strong likelihood' he would be incarcerated if he were to be convicted. El Moukhtari's parents and lawyer left court without speaking to reporters. A pre-trial hearing was set for July 18. State Police Col. Geoff Noble called the crash 'senseless,' adding it 'could have proven fatal if not for the resilience and extraordinary strength of Lieutenant Bossi, and the care he received on scene, in transit, and at the hospital.' Dublin firefighter charged with rape to be retried in October after hung jury
A firefighter from Ireland accused of raping a woman in a Boston hotel room on St. Patrick's Day weekend in 2024 will go to trial for the second time in six months in October, prosecutors confirmed. Terence Crosbie is charged with one count of rape in connection with the incident at the Omni Parker House in Boston on March 15, 2024. His first trial ended in a mistrial last week after four days of jury deliberations and five days of testimony, court records show. Crosbie's second trial will begin Oct. 14 in Suffolk Superior Court. A member of the Dublin Fire Brigade, Crosbie and other firefighters were visiting the city over St. Patrick's Day weekend. He is accused of raping a 28-year-old woman in the hotel room he was sharing with a fellow firefighter, who the woman had previously had consensual sex with after a day of drinking. The woman told police she and the other man fell asleep in separate beds after having sex. Around 2 a.m. on the morning of March 15, she said she awoke to a stranger raping her. She told him to stop and eventually managed to push him off. The woman recalled the man saying, 'This guy is sleeping. I know you want this,' according to the report. He also tried to kiss her and push her against the wall several times as she tried to leave. The woman then texted her friend to say she had been assaulted, the report said. Hotel security footage matched the woman's story, and she identified a man who'd shared a hotel room with Crosbie as the man she'd had consensual sex with, police said in a report. In an interview with police, Crosbie said he'd seen the man he was staying with come into the room with the woman and left to give them privacy, the report said. Hours later, he entered the room after knocking and saw the woman leave but didn't interact with her, he told police. Massachusetts State Police arrested Crosbie on the tarmac at Logan Airport just before the plane he was on was set to depart for Ireland, the district attorney's office said previously. He'd changed his flight to an earlier day after an interview with police.
