Tyrese Haliburton thought the Eastern Conference finals MVP trophy was his.
But then it wasn't.
During the Pacers celebration shortly following their Game 6 win against the Knicks, 'Inside the NBA' host Ernie Johnson took to the court alongside Reggie Miller to announce the MVP of the series.

As Johnson started the announcement, the camera panned over to Haliburton smiling and throwing up peace signs — which suggested he seemingly believed that he was going to receive the award.

Haliburton, 25, stopped in his tracks, however, when Johnson announced Pacers forward Pascal Siakam as the series MVP.
Throughout the series against the Knicks, Haliburton averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, including a 21-point performance during the closing game Saturday.

The two-time All-Star also had some late-game heroics during Game 1 of the series, hitting the game-tying shot which sent Indiana to overtime — where the Pacers later won 138-135.
In Game 5, however, Haliburton's performance was a dud, as he collected just eight points while shooting 28.6 percent from the field.

Siakam, 31, finished the series averaging 24.8 points per game on 52.4 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent behind the 3-point line.

'First of all, shoutout Indy man,' Siakam said to the crowd while accepting the award. 'It's been such an amazing experience for me so far. From the first day I landed here, the love has been amazing. Just unbelievable, [Indiana] is a first-class organization. I'm just so happy to be here.'
'After a bad Game 5 we wanted to bounce back,' Siakam added. 'I have 100 percent belief in my teammates and whenever we're down, we always find a way. And we did that tonight.'

French Open 2025: Coco Gauff defeats Madison Keys in all-American quarterfinal

(Photo by ALAIN JOCARD/AFP via Getty Images) In an all-American quarterfinal match, No. 2 seed Coco Gauff came out on top of No. 7 seed Madison Keys at the French Open on Wednesday, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. Gauff advances to face the winner of the Mirra Andreeva-Lois Boisson match in the semifinals on Thursday in her second consecutive French Open semifinal appearance. Keys was the highest-ranked opponent Gauff had faced in this French Open, and she proved a challenge early before letting up late. Advertisement While both players took a while to get settled in, it was a rough start for Gauff, who piled up errors as she went down 4-1 in the first set before surging back with four straight games to take a brief lead. She and Keys matched each other en route to a tiebreak, which the 2025 Australian Open winner ultimately won 8-6. It was the first set Gauff had dropped in the tournament as she struggled with her serve at the end. Gauff improved in the second set and mounted a 4-1 lead, but similar to the first set, Keys rallied back to tie things up. But this time, Gauff was able to pull away, taking the set 6-4. Gauff was much sharper in the third set, taking a commanding lead and never letting up, capitalizing on Key's errors and minimizing her own. Keys had 60 unforced errors to Gauff's 41, and 34 forced errors to Gauff's 24. But only two of Gauff's unforced errors came in the third set, while Keys had 16. Gauff had a 75% win rate on her first serve and converted 53% of her break points for the match. Gauff's best result at the French Open is a second-place finish in 2022 to Iga Świątek, who also beat her in last year's semifinals. Keys made it to the semifinals in 2018. Both players have one Grand Slam win to their name — Gauff the 2022 U.S. Open and Keys this year's Australian Open.

Italy midfielder Jorginho, Scotland left back Kieran Tierney, Brazilian goalkeeper Neto and Sterling — at one stage a key player for England — are among those confirmed to be leaving Arsenal.
