Seahawks S Nick Emmanwori already wants to recapture the "Legion of Boom" magic
The most aggressive move Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider made during the 2025 NFL draft was to trade up 17 spots in the second round. Schneider sent the Nos. 52 and 82 overall selections to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for No. 35. With that pick, the Seahawks drafted former South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori.
It's safe to say Emmanwori is excited about his landing spot. In a recent update to his social media, Emmanwori uploaded a photo of Seattle's infamous "Legion of Boom" defense as his header photo, featuring Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and others.
How aggressive Schneider was to acquire Emmanwori signals their overall thoughts on him as a prospect. Head coach Mike Macdonald is a defense-first leader who has coached some terrific safeties throughout his career. Macdonald envisions Emmanwori playing a Kyle Hamilton-like role, who he coached as the defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens.
Emmanwori was one of the most athletic prospects at this year's NFL Combine. The Gamecocks standout ran the 40-yard dash in a blazing-quick 4.38 seconds at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. Emmanwori also made history by leaping a 43 inch vertical and 11-foot-6 broad jump.
Emmanwori's athleticism allows him to play a versatile role. He's joining a talented secondary in Seattle that already featured Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, Julian Love, and Coby Bryant. It might not quite be the "Legion of Boom," but Emmanwori's head is in the right place.

Ranking the Seahawks' 3 potential CB fits in free agency
Ranking the Seahawks' 3 potential CB fits in free agency The Seattle Seahawks are still expected to sign a veteran cornerback before training camp begins. With mandatory minicamp on the horizon, general manager John Schneider could ramp up his interest in a cover-man. The Green Bay Packers released Pro Bowl corner Jaire Alexander from his contract, potentially adding another name to Schneider's list. With Rasul Douglas and Shaquill Griffin still lurking as options, we've ranked these three cornerbacks from most to least desirable for Seattle. Rasul Douglas The Seahawks hosted Rasul Douglas on a free-agent visit earlier this offseason. Douglas' aggressive mindset and veteran experience would make him a terrific fit in Macdonald's defense. He should be Schneider's primary target at the position. Shaquill Griffin Griffin arguably played the best football of his career with the Seahawks from 2017-2020. The former UCF standout has struggled to replicate that form since, but a reunion could make sense given the familiar surroundings. Griffin played in all 17 games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, snagging two interceptions and recording 41 total tackles. Jaire Alexander Alexander doesn't qualify as a realistic target for the Seahawks. He's already reportedly garnered interest from flashier potential destinations such as the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens. The Seahawks are simply looking for depth behind Riq Woolen, Josh Jobe, and Devon Witherspoon. Alexander wants to be a starter.

Minnesota Frost lose 2 forwards in PWHL expansion draft
The back-to-back PWHL champion Minnesota Frost lost two players in Monday night's expansion draft, during which the league's two newest teams filled out their rosters. The Frost lost Brooke McQuigge and Denisa Krizova to Vancouver. The expansion team also added two former Frost players during the exclusive signing window: defenders Sophie Jaques and Claire Thompson. The Frost were allowed to protect four players from the expansion teams, choosing forwards Kendall Coyne Schofield, Taylor Heise, Britta Curl-Salemme and defender Lee Stecklein. Jaques and Thompson were the bigger losses for the Frost — they had the second- and fourth-most points on the team last season. McQuigge was tied with Curl-Salemme for fifth-most and Krizova had the eighth-most. Coyne Schofield was first and Heise was tied with Jaques. The Frost are the only champions in PWHL history, having won the Walter Cup in each of the nascent league's first two seasons. With Seattle and Vancouver joining, the PWHL now has eight teams. Should the Seahawks sign LB Germaine Pratt?
Should the Seahawks sign LB Germaine Pratt? Cornerback Jaire Alexander wasn't the lone notable NFL player to be released from his contract on Monday. The Cincinnati Bengals cut ties with veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt. Could the Seattle Seahawks have interest in adding an off-ball defender of Pratt's caliber? Pratt requested a trade away from the Bengals in February, but a deal never materialized. The former NC State standout finished 10th in tackles last season with 143 takedowns. Those workhorse numbers could always appeal to a defensive-minded head coach like Mike Macdonald. The Seahawks currently have Ernest Jones IV and Tyrice Knight at off-ball linebacker. Jones was re-signed earlier this offseason after recording 94 tackles in 10 games last year. Knight, a fourth-round rookie, exploded onto the scene late, totaling 88 tackles. Though Pratt's tackle numbers were great, the analytics indicate he performed rather poorly last season. Pro Football Focus credited him with a lackluster 53.4 grade in coverage. Coverage used to be Pratt's strong suit, so it's a potential warning sign that he's declining with age. The Seahawks have an ascending linebacker in Knight on an affordable rookie contract. Signing Pratt would potentially stunt his growth, and it's doubtful he'd agree to come to Seattle in a reserve backup role. Ultimately, the Seahawks shouldn't show any interest in signing Pratt.
