D.C. mayor says she regrets request to reopen Dupont Circle Park
D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser expressed regret Monday over her request to open Dupont Circle Park during the WorldPride festival — despite efforts to close it by local and federal police officials — after two juveniles were stabbed there Saturday evening.
'Certainly, I have some regrets,' Browser told reporters. 'But I know that I was working very hard to balance what our community was calling for with our preparations. And that was the decision I made.'
