Shiels leaves Coleraine job ahead of Euro play-off
Dean Shiels has left his role as Coleraine head coach ahead of the club's European play-off on 7 May.Shiels was appointed in May 2024 and guided the Bannsiders to fifth in the Irish Premiership as the club transitioned into full-time football.After a spell as Oran Kearney's assistant, the 40-year-old stepped up to head coach at the Showgrounds after his brother-in-law moved into a director of football role at the club.Former Derry City manager Ruaidhri Higgins in the frontrunner to take over from Shiels and could be in position for the European play-off semi-final on Wednesday, 7 May. The Bannsiders will face either Crusaders or Irish Cup semi-finalists Dungannon Swifts in the play-off.Michael O'Connor, Shiels' assistant coach, has also left the Showgrounds.

The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple-cured bacon. "The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself." But he said he would not be taking his culinary ventures to Celtic's Old Firm rivals at Ibrox. Snoop told the Sunday Mail: "Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss." The confession comes after the rapper offered to swoop in and heal the rift between estranged brothers Prince William and Prince Harry. Earlier this year, the rapper, whose links to theroyals go back years, as he was asked to perform at William's stag party, said he'd be more than happy to act as peacemaker between the estranged pair. Aberdeen signs Australian striker Kusini Yengi on free transfer
Aberdeen have signed their third Australian of the summer after targeting former Portsmouth striker Kusini Yengi. The 26-year-old will arrive at Pittodrie on a free transfer when his Fratton Park contract expires in the coming days. Yengi – whose brother Tete plays for Livingston – has scored six goals in 11 internationals for the Socceroos. The forward scored five goals in his first five games for Portsmouth after arriving from Western Sydney Wanderers in 2023 and netted 13 goals in all in his debut campaign as Pompey won the League One title. But he failed to find the net for his club in an injury-hampered second season and will look to kick-start his career at Pittodrie having been released by Pompey.
