Sule expects Glens future to be settled at end of season
Glentoran midfielder Fuad Sule says he will probably wait to the end of the season to determine if he will stay at the east Belfast club. The 28-year-old moved from Premiership champions Larne to the Oval in the summer of 2023.Sule has been a key figure in Glentoran's resurgence this season and they are currently on an unbeaten run of 15 games. However, his contract expires at the end of the season and negotiations are continuing over a possible new deal."It's been very well documented, the situation with me at the moment - the people there are looking after the negotiations," said Sule."All I can do is try my best to perform at the best of my ability on a Friday or Saturday. I feel like I'm doing that at the moment."I don't tend to let these kind of things kind of influence me in how I play. It just depends on what happens and I'll probably wait until the end of the season to see what happens."Declan Devine's team have already won the Co Antrim Shield this season and they continued their excellent form with a 2-1 victory at Coleraine on Friday night."You can't build a house on poor foundations and I think the manager has laid the foundations for us to build on since the pre-season."You can see the results of that now coming to the fore on a weekly basis [and we're] more consistent."

Former Hearts player seals summer transfer as ex Jambos stars signs him up

Ross County have been relegated to the Championship after a play off final defeat to Livingston last month and are rebuilding for life back in the second tier. They don't appear keen to dwell in that realm for too long though with a move for ex Scotland centre back Declan Gallagher, who was a regular for Dundee United in the Premiership last term. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad They have now moved to sign ex Hearts star Gary Mackay Steven on a one year deal. The attacker known for his skilful style of play returns to the club he featured for at academy level before heading south with Liverpool, having been with Kilmarnock in the 24/25 campaign. Former Hearts star signed by ex Jambo After time in Merseyside and briefly with Fulham in his youth, he returned to Scotland with Airdrie before making his name at Dundee United over a four year stretch. That earned a move to Celtic where he spent a couple of years before moving on to Aberdeen then New York City FC in the MLS. His spell at Hearts followed that, where he helped the club out of the Championship and made 64 appearances overall with eight goals and the same number of assists. Mackay-Steven has been signed by another former Hearts man in Don Cowie, remaining as County's boss after relegation, who said: 'Gary is another great addition to the group as he makes his return to the club. He offers us good experience in the wide area of the pitch and we are delighted he has chosen to head back up North for the next chapter of his career.' Cost of Premiership relegation Chief executive Steven Ferguson detailed to BBC Scotland how difficult relegation would be for Ross County. He said: "There's no excuses from anybody at Ross County – we fell short. But it's a collective we. It doesn't just fall on the manager, it doesn't just fall on the players, we need to look at the whole club and everybody that's involved and we need to take responsibility for it and we will do that. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad "First and foremost we'll need to look at the playing squad and guys that are out of contract will need to be spoken to so they know exactly where they stand. We have underachieved this season and that's not something that happens too often. In my time at Ross County we've always managed to get to where we want to be. We'll look at it, honestly appraise it, see how we can pick the bones out of it and move forward. 'We aren't a big staff up here. Everybody feels it and it has a ripple effect. What we need to realise as well is that it's not just on the pitch. To not have any representation for this area has a real knock-on effect for everybody, not just the supporters, but the local business and the revenue that comes into the Highlands because of Premiership football."

Sunderland 'preparing' £10m Lennon Miller bid as Black Cats 'quietly confident' of landing Motherwell ace
Miller will be a big target for clubs this summer, with Motherwell set to cash in on their star Celtic and Rangers could be set to miss out on Lennon Miller, with Sunderland preparing an ambitious £10m bid for the Motherwell star. Miller made his first Scotland start in the 4-0 win over Liechtenstein on Monday, and the Black Cats are preparing a bid to test Motherwell's resolve for the 18-year-old, according to SportsBoom. Though Motherwell are keen to hold on to their young star, Miller has made no secret of his desire to play at the highest level, and has been linked with a number of top European clubs, including Borussia Dortmund. Miller is under contract until May 2026, which gives Motherwell some bargaining power for the PFA Scotland and Scottish Football Writers' Association Young Player of the Year, having already knocked back a £2.5m bid from Udinese. The midfielder, who has had three seasons at Motherwell, scored four goals and registered eight assists in the Premiership last term, as the Steelmen finished eighth. Sunderland, who were promoted to the Premier League last season after an eight-year absence, are 'quietly confident' they can tempt Miller with the promise of English top-flight football.

Russell hoping for strong showing from Bath fans at Premiership final
Scotland fly-half Finn Russell is looking forward to running out at the Allianz Stadium to the roar of Bath's sell-out support rather than with the jeers of England fans ringing in his ears. The British and Irish Lions number 10 kicked 14 points to help Bath beat rivals Bristol and secure a return to the Gallagher Premiership final. Russell, who has recovered from cramp which forced him off during the closing stages at The Recreation Ground, hopes to feel plenty of positive vibes from the Twickenham stands on Saturday – in stark to his previous visits when in Scotland blue. 'From what I have heard, a lot of Bath fans bought tickets a while back to make sure they had them, as they did last year,' Russell said. 'A lot of them will be getting the train over to Twickenham at the weekend and it is always good playing in front of a sold-out stadium. 'Having your home fans there, hopefully the majority of tickets are Bath fans, that will be special.' Scotland vice-captain Russell added: 'I know the other side of playing at Twickenham – usually when I am there, it is 70-odd thousand fans against me. 'But it is always special playing in that stadium and hopefully our fans can make as much noise as possible.' Russell, 32, remains determined to see Bath put last season's defeat by Northampton behind them and land a first title since 1996. 'I think that motivation has been there for everyone,' said Russell, who has been called up for his third successive Lions tour this summer. 'After getting that final and losing it last year, it is always quite tough to come back in that next year. 'But I think everyone came back in pre-season in good shape and kind of ripped in straight away. 'At the start of the year, the goal was to win the Premiership. We have gotten ourselves in a good spot just now to hopefully go and do that. 'We have almost got back to where we wanted to be and hopefully can go one step further this year.' Bath finished 11 points clear of Leicester at the top of the Premiership table, having won 14 games. Johann van Graan's side have already lifted the Premiership Rugby Cup and European Challenge Cup this season as they look to close out the campaign with yet more silverware. 'The playing group have been fantastic and it is great that everybody wants to play in the final, but ultimately, we can only select 23 players,' said Bath head of rugby van Graan. 'In our training again today, it doesn't matter what team you were in, everybody was in (to the session). 'Yes, some individuals will be disappointed, but that's natural. 'We see that as a positive, because everybody wants to play for this team and pulls in the same direction because they want to achieve something together.'
