Who is Ozzy Osbourne? From Black Sabbath's Prince Of Darkness to relationship with Sharon and reality TV stardom
Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne is set to take to the stage for one last performance.
The 76-year-old, whose real name is John Michael Osbourne, will reunite with his Black Sabbath bandmates at Aston Villa's Villa Park for a gig that promises to be the "greatest heavy metal show ever".
The all-day Back To The Beginning show will be the metal band's first performance together in 20 years, with original stars Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Terence 'Geezer' Butler and Bill Ward.
The comeback marks the first major show Osbourne has done since he cancelled planned gigs in Europe and the UK back in 2023, saying at that time that he is no longer "physically capable" of performing.
In 2020 the singer also revealed he has Parkinson's disease.
The show, planned for 5 July, is the latest in a career that has spanned five decades and earned Osbourne the nickname The Prince Of Darkness.
Who is Ozzy Osbourne?
Born in Birmingham, Osbourne rose to fame as a founding member and lead singer of the band Black Sabbath.
The band formed in 1968 and two years later released their self-titled debut album which included songs like The Wizard and Evil Woman.
The group's follow-up album, Paranoid, included some of the band's most famous songs including War Pigs, Iron Man, Fairies Wear Boots and Paranoid.
The record was a huge success, topping the charts in the UK and reaching no 12 in the US.
Black Sabbath went on to become one of the most successful metal bands of all time, selling more than 75 million albums worldwide over the years.
The singer went on to have success as a solo artist after leaving the band.
His solo debut album Blizzard Of Ozz reached the top 10 in the UK, and a decade later he achieved his highest-ever charting album with Ordinary Man, which featured collaborations with Elton John, Slash, Post Malone and Tom Morello.
Family life and reality TV
Away from music, Osbourne has largely shared his personal life with the public.
In 1970, he was introduced to Sharon Levy - who would later become his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne.
They went on to have three children - Aimee, Kelly and Jack Osbourne.
The family hit new heights of fame when they starred in the reality TV series The Osbournes, which followed the family during their daily lives.
The show lasted from 2002 to 2005, winning an Emmy Award.

Live bull spotted running loose around streets of Birmingham
Pedestrians in Birmingham were left questioning whether the statue guarding the Bullring shopping centre had come to life, when a live bull was spotted running loose on the city's streets. Video footage shared online on Friday morning showed a large bull charging around streets in east Birmingham, with police officers running alongside in a bid to contain it. Rockfield Studios: Growing up with Freddie Mercury next door
A woman who grew up at a recording studio used by some of the UK's biggest bands says it was "just normal" for Freddie Mercury to be in the next Murray from Blakeney, Gloucestershire, moved to Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire aged six after her mum, a Cordon Bleu chef, got a job there after being praised by the band Black Murray's memoir, "My Family and Other Rock Stars", details how her mother, Joan, cooked for the likes of Queen and David Bowie."I was an only child so she would be cooking in the kitchen until the early hours and cleaning up and I was left to my own devices, so I did wander into the studios and annoy musicians at an early age," Ms Murray said. Ms Murray previously lived in a house in Herefordshire, where her mum advertised rehearsal space to likes of Black Sabbath and Queen recorded there before moving onto Rockfield, where they would reminisce about Joan's food, leading to her being hired as the in-house "Bohemian Rhapsody", Coldplay's "Yellow", and Oasis' "Wonderwall" are among the songs recorded at Rockfield over the years."Mum and I lived with the bands on the Quadrangle," Ms Murray told BBC Radio Gloucestershire."We lived in the chalet, so you could have Freddie [Mercury] next door." She said there were other children who lived at the studios, so "it was just normal" in the local area, but, later in life, some jaws still drop when she divulges the tastes and palettes of some of Britain's most legendary artists."Mum said Freddie had quite a sophisticated palette, but not too rich," she said."The main she loved doing was Fanny Craddock's crêpes suzette. "She'd go into the dining room and set it all on fire in front of Queen and they'd all clap." While many would have bowed down to some of the stars that spent time at Rockfield, Joan ruled the roost as "queen of the kitchen", Ms Murray said."She was the matron and they were the boys of the school," Ms Murray said."Trying to control Motörhead was very interesting. I think she gave up on that one - particularly when my future stepfather, Fritz, was producing them and invited all these Hell's Angels down to record motorbike exhausts for a certain track." Although Ms Murray's experiences inspired her memoir, which is peppered with her mother's Rockfield recipes, she also believes her mother was the muse for one particular hit song written by Freddie Mercury, with clues in the lyrics."Killer Queen, I think, is written about my mother," she said."There are all the other theories but... 'Talked just like a baroness', 'the pretty cabinet' - she always drank Moët & Chandon. I think it is [about] my mother."She's still the woman she was then, even though she's 82 now."

Sharon Osbourne drops in to see Black Sabbath mural progress
The artist behind a major Black Sabbath mural in Birmingham was "caught off guard" when he got a visit from Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's Murals said he suddenly noticed a blacked-out car had pulled up on Navigation Street in the city centre, and out strode Mrs Osbourne."[But] she was just so chilled out, so kind about the artwork, just loves everything that I've done so far," he mural is due to be completed to coincide with July's concert at Villa Park, when Ozzy will reunite with his heavy metal bandmates for the last time. The images of Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward are being created in a 120ft (36.5m) Murals said: "You meet celebrities and you never know quite how it's gonna go, but you just forget that they're just normal people."He was painting the Black Sabbath logo where the car pulled up, he added."But I think, because I've got masking tape all over it,.... [Sharon] was probably thinking, 'What is going on with that bit?'. But she was still really kind about it."She... just loved the black and white stuff that's on the wall." Asked about his reaction to her arriving, he said he was "caught off guard"."So many people have pulled up, so many different types of vehicle, usually it's a taxi beeping me out the way, so I was just glad there was no horn," he than 100 people stopped him to take photos and ask questions in one day, he artist said there had been "no autographs yet luckily, because my handwriting's terrible". 'Ozzy not finished' Asked what the mural looked like currently, he explained there was a "bit of thunder, bit of lightning that's kind of going behind" the logo and he was "jumping back over to Bill Ward on the drums".He added though, that Ozzy's recreation is not yet finished and said: "I've asked a few people whether to hold him until the end."Black Sabbath formed in Aston in 1968 and their final gig on 5 July will also features other heavy metal legends, including Metallica, Pantera and Murals said hopefully the artwork, which was commissioned by Central BID Birmingham with the support of Network Rail, would be finished by 12 June.
