Health Canada issues recall for some youth bicycle helmets
Health Canada says a recall has been issued for youth Bell Sports bicycle helmets sold at Walmart.
According to Health Canada, the recall affects two models of the Bell Cadence youth helmets that were specifically produced in September 2024, warning that the products may not protect the person during a fall or crash, posing the risk of a head injury.
The recall involves the black and blue 'vapor' and purple 'multi' helmets that are identified by the inner sticker with the model name 'Cadence' and number B0605Y as well as a date code listed as 9/24.

A total of approximately 481 of the affected helmets were sold in Canada between September 2024 and May 2025. Another 31,214 units were also sold during this time in the U.S., though under other models and SKUs.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled helmets, destroy them by cutting off the straps, and upload photos of the helmet with those straps cut to Bell Sports' support line: consumersupport-bell@bellhelmets.com to prove destruction and obtain a refund.
They can then dispose of the recalled helmet. Customers can also contact Bell Sports by phone or visit their website and click on the recall banner at the top of the home page.
The joint recall was issued by Health Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Bell Sports, Inc.

(Item number: 3722025-2293) Micro Star sleeping bag in the colour amber maple. (Item number: 3722025-9908) No injuries or incidents have been reported in Canada as of June 24, the company stated. According to the recall notice, 70 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada between April 2025 and May 2025. This comes after similar products from the company were recalled in Germany and France due to being suffocation hazards, according to a safety alert by the European Commission. 'The neck area of the product is stretchy and can increase in circumference. As a result, the child may slip down into the sleep bag and suffocate,' the alert published on June 25 reads. 'Moreover, the sleeping bag has a hood, which can cover the mouth and/or nose of the child and lead to suffocation.' Still, she came to see what life here could be, and stayed because of what she found. First, she worked in customer service, then launched her own medical aesthetics business. She says she felt the weight of missing home and the challenge of reobtaining her credentials. But through it all, her dream of policing never faded, despite the language barrier. 'Dealing with English — that's not my first language. So, I'd say that I need to put way more effort than everybody else. If I was born here it would be different,' she said. Now, she's part of the Saint John Police Force and giving back to the same community that helped her find her footing. To other newcomers, her message is simple. 'You're going to be fine here, as long as you're open to experience different things,' she said. 'You're going to cry, you're going to miss your family, you're going miss your country. Products: Virility for Men (Yi Li Xiao Capsule) Issue: Health products – Product safety What to do: Stop using this product immediately and consult your health care professional if you have health concerns. Affected products: Issue Health Canada is warning consumers not to use Virility for Men (Yi Li Xiao Capsule) because it may pose serious health risks. The product was authorized as a natural health product to help enhance physical capacity/performance (in cases of physical stress), but recent Health Canada laboratory testing found it contains tadalafil, a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction, which was not listed on the product label. Tadalafil is a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction and should be used only under the supervision of a health care professional. It should not be used by individuals taking any kind of nitrate drug (e.g., nitroglycerine) since it can cause potentially life-threatening low blood pressure. Individuals with heart problems are at increased risk of cardiovascular side effects such as heart attack, stroke, chest pain, high blood pressure, and abnormal heartbeat. Other possible side effects include headache, facial flushing, indigestion, dizziness, abnormal vision, and hearing loss. Natural health products must not contain prescription drugs. Prescription drugs should be used only under the advice and supervision of a healthcare professional because they are used to treat specific conditions and may cause serious side effects. Health Canada has suspended the product licence for Virility for Men (Yi Li Xiao Capsule, NPN 80083930) and the licence holder Yexin Likang International Health Inc. is recalling the product, which was distributed in Ontario. Health Canada is monitoring the effectiveness of the company's recall and will take appropriate and timely action if any new health risks are identified.
