Trial for man accused of murdering Amish woman delayed again

(WJET/WFXP)– The trial of a Corry man accused of murdering a pregnant Amish woman in Crawford County, has been delayed again.
According to court paperwork, the trial of 53-year-old Shawn Cranston has been delayed to June 2025 citing new information in the case. Jury selection for the case will begin on June 9.
Cranston's defense team requested the delay to prepare for the trial after receiving the new information and the prosecution agreed.
This marks the second time Cranston's trial has been delayed after the case was given to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office by the Crawford County District Attorney back in October 2024.
Cranston is accused of killing Rebekah Byler and her unborn child on Fish Flats Road in February of last year.
Cranston has been in prison without bond since he was taken into custody.

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed and two others hurt in a Friday afternoon wreck involving a vehicle running from police, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. It happened just after 12:30 p.m. on South Longstreet Road near Homelight Road when a 2023 Dodge Charger ran off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
