JoJo Siwa says she's 'queer' after she was mocked by Miley Cyrus

Daily Mail9 hours ago

JoJo Siwa has opened up about her sexuality amid her romance with former Love Island star .
The star, 22, spoke to E! News on the subject after she confirmed earlier this month that she and Chris, 32, are dating after meeting on Celebrity Big Brother.
JoJo first came out as part of the LGBTQ + in 2021, identifying as pansexual before coming out as a lesbian.
She said: 'I think the most beautiful term now is queer. I think queer is an umbrella of, "Look, I'm just me".
'And I think the most beautiful thing about the LGBTQIA community is love. And that goes both ways.'
'There's loads of beautiful, different sexualities. Sexuality and queerness is a lovely rainbow that has all different places, and it also has places on this rainbow that we don't even know exist yet.
'I feel so in the right position for myself. I feel so content with my happiness.
'I feel so relaxed and at ease with where I'm at. I feel so happy and peaceful that the love that I feel is so real. You can't really help who you fall in love with.'
JoJo also spoke about Chris, revealing she has 'never second-guessed' what she feels for him.
'Therefore, I've never second guessed my happiness, I've never second guessed what I'm feeling. And I think that's the most beautiful thing,' she said.
'When I think about him, I'm full of pure joy. When I speak about him, I'm full of pure joy.'
The pair met on Celebrity Big Brother but their close bond caused fans to speculate there was more between them.
In April following the show's afterparty, JoJo notably split from her partner Kath Ebbs.
JoJo's comments come after Miley Cyrus seemingly shaded the Dance Moms star earlier this month.
The singer was seen in a video message for WorldPride while standing inside a closet.
'Oh, my God, I haven't been in here since sixth grade!' she said. 'Enjoy coming out of the closet if this Pride is the time for you. It shouldn't be a month - it should be a year; it should be infinite.'
She then jokingly added: 'I'm going back inside to get more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out.'
However, the humor didn't land with some fans who took to social media to share their thoughts with one penning on X, 'Can ya'll just let bi people exist?'
'I adore Miley, but this isn't OK,' another wrote, and one added, 'Again, JoJo being with Chris doesn't erase or change her attraction to women. Pride month should be about celebrating all members of the LGBT+ community, not about making jibes like this.'
JoJo recently hit back at Cyrus and shared to her fans in a lengthy post that she had reached out to the Flowers singer over the joke.
At one point, she wrote: 'I don't believe what Miley said at World Pride was ill-intended, honestly I think it was meant to be a joke, but just not very good one haha.
'Not what the world, or myself needs to hear any day of the week. I messaged Miley light heartedly about it and she replied and said 'All love. Always . ❤️❤️❤️".'
'Love love love love love.❤️ People judge no matter what, and it can be very hard, especially when it comes from someone you love, and look up to…
'But if you feel happy and content with yourself, that's most important. You get one life… hold onto it, make it yours, find your happy, and love.'

Is Father's Day getting more respect? Depends on who you ask

Is Father's Day starting to get a little more attention as a holiday? Not if you check some social media. In an expletive-filled post on TikTok and X, rapper Plies, best known for his collaborations with T-Pain and DJ Khaled on hits 'Shawty' and 'I'm So Hood,' complains about how Father's Day on Sunday carries about as much clout as Groundhog Day, saying it might as well be removed from the calendar. ' The disrespect to Father's Day is real ' declares a separate Reddit post, which adds, 'We get it, fathers aren't important to corporations, but damn, can't I at least get some free donuts or chicken strips?' Perhaps Shake Shack's buy one Double ShackBurger get a second one free in stores and on its app through Monday doesn't count? Or Wendy's buy one get one free deal on premium sandwiches through its app on Sunday? Or Burger King's buy one get one free deals on Whoppers through the app? It's true the offers aren't quite as broad as on Mother's Day. But the spending disparity with Mother's Day may be narrowing, according to the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics. The organizations forecast that a record-breaking $24 billion will be spent on Father's Day this year, surpassing the previous mark of $22.9 billion in 2023. They say consumers plan to spend an average of $199.38 on their dads and father figures this year. Of course, that still pales in comparison to this year's $259.04 average planned for moms, which totals about $34.1 billion, or $10.1 billion more than Father's Day spending. That is a 21% smaller gap than the $12.8 billion difference there was between Mother's Day and Father's Day spending in 2023. Other studies disagree, though. RetailMeNot forecasts a $25 drop in spending for dads this year, down to about $232 per shopper, while moms get an average of $360 per shopper, up $43 this year.

Danny Jones' wife makes first post including him since Maura Higgins kiss

Georgia has shared Danny on her social media for the first time since the scandal. Danny Jones' wife Georgia shared a tribute to her husband for the first time since he was pictured kissing Love Island star Maura Higgin. The 38-year-old, who shares seven-year-old son Cooper with McFly star Danny, 39, shared a sweet post to him on Instagram to mark Father's Day. After she posted a snap of her own dad, she then went on to post a cute photo of Cooper cuddling into his dad. She sweetly captioned the post: "For the Dads. Happy Father's Day." ‌ Georgia's post is the first that he's appeared on her social media page since he was papped kissing his I'm A Celebrity co-star Maura at a Brits after party back in March. Danny, who has been married to Georgia for over a decade, issued a grovelling public apology after the drunken smooch. ‌ In a statement on his Instagram Story, he said: "Hello everyone, sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately." He added to fans: "I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny." Following the BRITs scandal, apparently, Georgia temporarily moved out of their family home. Insiders claimed that the whole situation was "embarrassing" for the mother-of-one, who married Danny back in 2014. Shortly after the kiss, a source claimed that while "they may still be married, they are not together and she is still working out what she wants to do." However, it's now believed Georgia is back in the family home in West London and has returned to host her podcast, Mum's The Word! with friend Kelsey Parker. ‌ A source told the Mirror in April: "Georgia is returning to face the music after weeks away. She took some time for herself after the incident blew up but now she's ready to talk." "This wasn't some grand gesture where she suddenly packed her bags and left. It was just a girlie few nights at a close pal's flat. Yes, she wanted some space, but she is home now, and while things are still fragile, they are trying to work things through," a separate source confirmed. Danny is said to be eager to work through things and get his marriage with Georgia back on track. "He has made it clear he will do anything to make it work. He loves Georgia and wants their marriage to get back on track," a source told The Sun. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

'How to Train Your Dragon' soars in box office debut with $83 million, beating 'Lilo and Stitch'

'How to Train Your Dragon' took flight at the box office this weekend, proving that some remakes still have teeth. The Universal live-action adaptation of the beloved animated franchise soared to a strong $83 million debut in North American theaters, according to Comscore estimates Sunday. The film, directed by franchise veteran Dean DeBlois, follows the unlikely friendship between a young Viking named Hiccup (Mason Thames) and a dragon called Toothless. The reboot easily outpaced 2019's 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,' which opened with $55 million. It also claimed the No. 1 spot ahead of Disney's 'Lilo and Stitch,' which slipped to second place after topping the charts for three weekends. That hybrid live-action remake added another $15 million, pushing its domestic total past $386.3 million. 'Materialists," a modern-day New York love story starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans, rounded out the top three films of the week with a $12 million debut. The romantic dramedy features Johnson as a savvy matchmaker caught between two suitors: a broke, struggling actor who happens to be her ex, and a wealthy 'unicorn' who seems too good to be true. 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' slid to fourth place, taking in $10.3 million and avoiding a dip into single-digit territory. The John Wick spinoff 'Ballerina' fell to fifth place with $9.4 million, despite strong reviews from both critics and audiences. Directed by Len Wiseman, the action film stars Ana de Armas and features Keanu Reeves reprising his role in a supporting turn. In sixth place, 'Karate Kid: Legends' earned $5 million followed by 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' at seventh with $3.9 million. Wes Anderson's latest 'The Phoenician Scheme' brought in $3 million eighth place. 'The Life of Chuck,' based on a Stephen King story, placed ninth with $2.1 million. Rounding out the top 10 was ' Sinners." The Ryan Coogler film starring Michael B. Jordan, drew $1.4 million. Top 10 movies by domestic box office With final domestic figures being released Monday, this list factors in the estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore: 1. 'How to Train Your Dragon," $83.7 million 2. 'Lilo and Stitch,' $15.5 million. 3. 'Materialists," $12 million. 4. 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,' $10.3 million. 5. 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,' $9.4 million. 6. 'Karate Kid: Legends,' $5 million. 7. 'Final Destination: Bloodlines,' $3.9 million. 8. 'The Phoenician Scheme,' $3 million. 9. 'The Life of Chuck," $2.1 million. 10. 'Sinners,' $1.4 million.
