Zuma too old, Papa Penny a clown: Malema urges KZN voters to ditch MK
Malema also criticised the performance of the MK Party, considered one of the main reasons for the EFF's downfall, as the official opposition in the province and nationally — and MP Gezani 'Papa Penny' Kobane in particular.
'You voted here in KZN for MKP and gave them 45%, but what are they doing with it? They are not doing anything here in KZN. In parliament they have numbers, but they are the most useless people. You must tell them they are useless.
'You tried them and they are not delivering, so don't make that mistake again of giving [power to] people who go to parliament to represent you and after they speak no one can make sense of what they are saying, like Penny Penny. Whether he speaks English or vernacular, the guy is just a clown who is not supposed to be in parliament. That's how MK has thanked you, the people of KZN, after you voted [for] them.'
Malema also criticised MK Party leader Jacob Zuma, saying he made promises that he failed to deliver on, adding that he was old and belonged in the past.
'You cannot lose power to an old man and say Zuma is the future. How can the old be the future? We must stop listening to simple lies. The youth at university, you cannot allow to be led by the old. The old must retire and the new must emerge and take over South Africa.'

‘If people want to start their own party they should go ahead': Jacob Zuma
MK Party (MKP) leader Jacob Zuma has come out guns blazing at those who have criticised the party's decisions to remove Floyd Shivambu and others from the position of secretary-general. The fledgling political party, formed in December 2023, has seen at least seven secretary-generals. 'We are not playing, even if you deem yourself to be powerful, well-liked or you are everything,' Zuma said. 'There is no one who would occupy a position until such time they go to heaven. There is no such thing.' Zuma was addressing thousands gathered at the launch of the MKP'S youth branch in Claremont, west of Durban, on Monday. The former president turned opposition party leader said he was aware of resistance from some within the party after people were removed from the position. 'Some are wanting to protest the move. This means we have not begun to build party we want. You entertain such things by not only talking about this but you write about it. We want freedom and we are not protecting anyone,' said Zuma. He said despite the MKP experiencing the exit of a succession of leaders, it was not the party's intention to boot them. 'There were wrong things they were getting up to but we did not want to embarrass and humiliate them publicly. We never wanted to tell the nation because they themselves know they had done some wrongs,' said Zuma. He urged followers to steer clear of internal ructions in the party. "If those people want to start their own party they should go ahead. I have full trust and confidence in the youth of this country to build a future. We are not going to be apologetic and bow down to individuals in this party. No matter how good, important and educated you are,' said Zuma. He also issued a stern warning to those who sought to enrich themselves in the party. "Let us not take this organisation as an one in which we want to make money. It's an organisation to liberate South Africans. It is why if we have one of us go astray, we don't tolerate them,' said Zuma. A nine-member youth team headed by Qiniso Cibane was announced. Cibane is the former eThekwini regional convener for the party.

‘We've had seven SGs. We don't beg': Zuma on ill-disciplined members
MK Party (MKP) leader Jacob Zuma has taken a firm stance against undisciplined members, emphasising no one is above the party. Addressing members at Christianenburg Sports Stadium in Clermont, KwaZulu-Natal, Zuma stressed those who deviate from the party's principles will face consequences. He made reference to the recent removal of Floyd Shivambu as secretary-general after his controversial trip to visit fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri in Malawi, which the party said it was not consistent with the MKP's constitution. "This is not an organisation to make money, it is an organisation to liberate South Africa," Zuma said. "If one of us goes off track, we don't beg them." The MKP has experienced significant leadership changes, particularly in the secretary-general position. Before Shivambu, the role was held by Sihle Ngubane who was reassigned to parliament as chief whip, then Arthur Zwane who was removed due to mismanagement allegations and Sfiso Maseko, who resigned. Shivambu joined the MKP after leaving the EFF last year. He was appointed national organiser before being appointed as secretary-general in November. His tenure was also short-lived. The MKP's highest decision-making body announced Shivambu would be redeployed to the National Assembly as an MP. " We've had seven secretary-generals because we're not here to play games. We don't care how great you are, how loved you are, we don't care. We talk about our party." Zuma also responded to complaints about leadership decisions. "There are those who say they want to protest because of one decision we took. This means our party needs work. We will fire anyone who does wrong in the MKP." TimesLIVE
