The season may be over but a busy summer of transfer activity is only just beginning as clubs look to reshape their squads ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Here is a round-up of the latest rumours swirling around Scottish football this Friday lunchtime ahead of the transfer window reopening on Monday, June 16... Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Celtic reject bid as €25m bar set Celtic have reportedly turned down a lowball offer from Fenerbahce for star forward Daizen Maeda. The Japanese international is attracting interest after a steller season where he netted 33 goals in 52 games for the Scottish champions, playing both on the wing and as the central striker following the January departure of Kyogo Furuhashi. Multiple reports in Turkey have claimed that Fenerbahce have identified the 27-year-old as the man they want to replace Allan Saint-Maximin, who will return to Saudi club Al Ahli following his loan move. It is claimed that Jose Mourinho's side have submitted an opening bid of €10m (£8.4m) which has been rejected out of hand by Celtic, who have set the bar at the €25m (£21m) for the PFA and Scottish Football Writers Player of the Year. It is also claimed that Tottenham are showing an interest in Maeda, although any offer is likely to depend on whether Ange Postecoglou remains in charge at the Premier League club. The ex-Celtic boss, who brought Maeda to Parkhead for just over £1m in 2022, is fighting to keep his job despite winning the Europa League last month. The 20-year-old left-back joins on a four-year deal from Bundesliga 2 side FC Schalke 04 for an undisclosed fee. 'I'm really happy to be here and so are my family, so I am ready to go,' he said. 'Now that everything is sorted, I can focus on pre-season, and I am going to work hard before training starts. It was nice to see all the fan celebrations after winning the cup. It motivates me to want to do it again as you can see how much they love Aberdeen. Obviously it's a dream to play in Europe, on that stage. It can be challenging but we are going to be ready as a team after a strong pre-season.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Gyamfi is a product of the youth academy at Schalke and although he never made a first-team appearance, he caught the eye during a recent loan spell with Dutch second tier side VVV-Venlo. Dons boss Jimmy Thelin added: 'Emmanuel is a player we have been monitoring for some time. He possesses all the attributes we are looking for in a modern full-back. He's dynamic and has a great work ethic. His development at Schalke and his recent loan spell demonstrates his potential and we believe this will be the environment in which he can thrive.' Robin Propper is on his way out of Rangers after less than a year at the club. | SNS Rangers exit agreed Rangers are set to cut their losses by sanctioning the sale of defender Robin Propper after less than a year with the club. The Ibrox club paid £2.5million to sign the 31-year-old from Dutch side FC Twente last summer but after an unconvincing debut season in Scotland he is set to return to his former side in a cut price deal. According to reports in the Netherlands, Rangers will only recoup half of the money spent on Propper with terms agreed on a £1.2m transfer. The centre-back remains highly regarded at FC Twente having previously captained the side prior to his move to Rangers. The departure of Propper and fellow defender Leon Balogun has freed up space for new head coach Russell Martin to bring in his own centre-halves as he looks to put his own stamp on the side ahead of the new season. The nine-time Scotland international was released by the Tannadice club at the end of the season following two years with the Tangerines. He played a major role in the club's Championship title win before helping them secure European football with a fourth-placed finish in the Premiership last term. Now Gallagher is back in the Championship aiming for the fourth promotion of his career after signing a one-year deal with relegated Ross County.

Ryan Reynolds gets harsh Jamie Vardy to Wrexham truth as transfer budget clear

Wrexham have been linked with several Premier League stars, including Leicester's Jamie Vardy, this summer, with a senior figure now making their financial position clear An advisor to Wrexham 's Hollywood owners has made it clear the club is "a million miles away" from being able to afford star signings like Jamie Vardy. The Welsh side, backed by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have been linked with a string of big names in the summer transfer window following their promotion to the Championship. Vardy is one of the players who has most frequently been connected with a move to the Racecourse Ground. The striker announced his decision to leave Leicester at the end of the season in April and said he wants to continue playing football. ‌ However, Les Reed, who sits on Wrexham's transfer committee, has now confirmed the 38-year-old is unlikely to see out the rest of his career in North Wales. Reed, who was previously involved in taking Southampton from League One to the Premier League, set out the reality of the club's financial position during an interview with the i Paper. ‌ He said: "Let's take an equivalent of Jamie Vardy. Everyone thinks he's out of contract, there's no transfer fee, Wrexham could do that. You're talking about players who are on £140,000 a week. We are a million miles away from that because we don't get Premier League revenues or broadcasting money. "We will have a decent budget. Everyone externally thinks we've got an unlimited budget because of our owners, but that's not true. We'll have a good budget simply because we've got very good revenues. "That's the benefit of the owners. It's not their deep pockets, it's their ability to generate higher revenues, which enables us to spend within the regulations and [offer] decent salaries." Vardy is one of several seasoned Premier League campaigners Wrexham have been linked with, including Fulham captain Tom Cairney and Tottenham's Ben Davies. Wolves defender Craig Dawson and West Ham duo Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings are also rumoured to be of interest to manager Phil Parkinson. But Reed, who once had an ill-fated spell as manager of Charlton in the Premier League, said the club is now looking to lower the average age of the squad. It follows the Red Dragons recently saying goodbye to their two oldest players in stalwart goalkeeper Mark Howard and veteran striker Steven Fletcher, both aged 38. ‌ "In the Championship, they [new signings] will need to be athletic," said Reed. "It's not swansong land for players who are having one more go before they retire. Our ambition will be to drive the average age down, but at the same time remain competitive. "We can't just go 'that's it, we're only going for younger players'. A couple of clubs recently – and I won't mention their names – have done that, and it hasn't worked. It will be a mix." ‌ Meanwhile, another ex-Premier League boss has not ruled out the possibility of Wrexham achieving an astonishing fourth successive promotion next term. Reynolds and McElhenney have made no secret of their ambition of taking their club all the way to the top and former Stoke manager Tony Pulis believes it could happen. "Phil Parkinson has experience of Championship football," Pulis told BoyleSports. "He'll understand what's needed. I don't care what anybody says, to get three promotions on the bounce is just exceptional. "They are in such a positive place at the moment, the crowd are behind them massively and they'll have to be next year as well because the level moves up again, but nothing is impossible. "The fans will really get behind them and it's going to be an interesting league next year. It'll be interesting to see what Wrexham do and what they can achieve." Scottish FA announces new partnership with FanHub

The Scottish FA has announced a new partnership with FanHub to reward fans for their backing through exclusive experiences and rewards. Engagement with the free app will give supporters the chance to win money-can't-buy behind-the-scenes access inside national team camps and Hampden Park. Signed strips, sought-after tickets, legend tours and a whole lot more. It's all up for grabs. Supporters can use the FanHub app to predict the starting XI, check in at matches and record matchday memories. Brendan Napier, Scottish Football Marketing's Commercial Director, said: 'We have the most committed, colourful and passionate supporters in the game. 'You only have to look back to the scenes in Germany last summer, which drew admiration from across the football landscape. They are a constant source of pride, never to be taken for granted. 'We are constantly looking for ways to reward supporters for that unwavering loyalty and add value to their experience where we can. 'That's why we are so thrilled to welcome FanHub as the Official Fan Loyalty Partner of the Scotland National Teams. 'They are enthused and driven by supporter engagement and, in turn, will unlock money-can't-buy incentives and prizes for subscribers. 'This is an exciting link-up for us and we look forward to working with the FanHub team to build out our offering to Scotland supporters. Recognising and celebrating their dedication ahead of what promises to be an exciting year.' Gareth Lippiatt, Co-Founder and Chief Executive at FanHub, added: 'Scottish football has something genuinely special. You often hear people say that modern football has lost its soul – but those people haven't been to Hampden on a matchday. 'It's the passion of the fans that first attracted us to this opportunity, and having met so many brilliant people along the way, we're incredibly excited to be part of it. 'We're fans ourselves, so to partner with the Scotland National Team and your iconic fanbase is a surreal moment and a huge privilege.' Like this: Like Related
