Real Madrid vs Al Hilal - Club World Cup: Live score, team news and updates as Trent Alexander-Arnold STARTS as he makes debut
Well, there's only one place to start really, isn't there... Simone Inzaghi is set for his first match in charge of Al-Hilal since joining almost immediately after losing the Champions League final with Inter.
Oh, and there's some right back Real Madrid have brought in for the competition, his shirt says Trent - judging from his announcement press conference he must be some breakout star from Spain because I've never heard of him.
There will be a lot of eyes on the teamsheets tonight to see what that guy can do, whether it's from the start or on the bench.

Chelsea plotting to hijack £60m Joao Pedro transfer with Brighton in talks with Newcastle
Enzo Maresca has confirmed the next signing he wants to make JOAO'S THAT Chelsea plotting to hijack £60m Joao Pedro transfer with Brighton in talks with Newcastle CHELSEA are plotting a swoop to hijack Newcastle's move for Joao Pedro. Sun Sport revealed talks have begun between the Magpies and Brighton over a £60million deal for the Brazilian forward. 3 Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is eyeing more attacking reinforcements this summer Credit: GETTY 3 The Italian is set to rival Newcastle for the signature of Brighton's Joao Pedro Credit: GETTY That was after the 23-year-old's representatives indicated he wanted to join them and be part of their Champions League push. Toon knew that Chelsea were also keen, but now the west Londoners could be about to try and launch their own move. Like Newcastle, Blues chiefs are huge admirers of his ability and versatility to play anywhere across the front line. Unlike their Premier League rivals, they are yet to open negotiations with the Seagulls, but they are considering an attempt to land him and bolster Enzo Marseca's squad. Brighton already have Greek attacker Charalampos Kostoulas as a replacement. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a big fan of Pedro and missed out on him three years ago when he was at Watford before eventually landing Alexander Isak. Brighton are willing to cash in on the Samba star after he was axed for the last two games of the season by Fabian Hurzeler. That followed a training-ground bust-up with team-mate Jan Paul van Hecke. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS 3 Chelsea have only made one addition to their squad so far this summer, the £30million acquisition of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. But Blues boss Maresca is keen to add more attacking reinforcements before they kick off their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on August 17. Chelsea star Mudryk's charge is a shock but not a surprise The Italian said: "Jadon [Sancho] is not with us so for sure that is a position we need to do something. "We have Noni [Madueke], Pedro [Neto] and Ty[rique George] only as the proper wingers. "So something, for sure, is going to happen."

Viktor Gyokeres tells friends his next club after Arsenal and Man Utd offers
Viktor Gyokeres has informed friends and family that he expects to leave Sporting for Arsenal this summer, according to reports. The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the most sought-after strikers in European football on the back of a magnificent second season with Sporting, in which he scored 54 goals in 52 games to help steer the club to a domestic double. A host of Europe's elite teams have been credited with an interest in signing Gyokeres, with the Gunners finding themselves in pole position to wrap up a deal for the prolific Sweden international. The likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid have also been heavily linked, while Manchester United are understood to have made the former Coventry City man a lucrative offer to become the focal point of Ruben Amorim's misfiring attack. But Gyokeres is intent on playing Champions League football next term and is believed to have turned down a proposed move to Old Trafford in favour of a switch to the Emirates. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link so we can send you football news tailored to you. A bitter feud between Gyokeres' agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, and Sporting's president, Frederico Varandas, has complicated matters somewhat, with the latter denying the existence of a supposed gentleman's agreement which would allow the player to leave for £59million. But Gyokeres is confident a resolution will be found in due course and according to talkSPORT, the Swede has now told his loved ones that they can expect to see him playing in Arsenal's colours next season. The north Londoners saw an opening offer of €55m (£46.8m) rejected out of hand by Sportin and are set to return with an improved bid for Gyokeres over the coming days. 'There is a lot of talks at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right,' Gyokeres told his followers on Instagram last week. Gyokeres' current contract in Lisbon runs through to June 2028. RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko remains an option for Arsenal should they fail in pursuit of a deal for Gyokeres. However, the Gunners will have to fend off strong competition from Saudi Pro League outfit A-Hilal should they switch their attentions to the 22-year-old Slovenian this summer. While Arsenal have been in talks with RB Leipzig over a possible move for Sesko since last month, there has been little progress regarding a proposed deal, with the Bundesliga club demanding in excess of £70m for the attacker. Quizzed about rumours he is pressing RB Leipzig to lower their demands, Sesko's agent, Elvis Basanovic, told Give Me Sport: 'This is far from truth! 'We respect RB Leipzig and I am 100 per cent convinced RB Leipzig will also respect our decision for the next step when we decide to do it. 'Even if there may be – or will be – a strong desire of the player to move to a certain club, we will never force or blackmail RB Leipzig. 'I believe this is not the right way, because the way you actually exit from the club shows your values. Values that you are bringing into a new club. 'I can understand in very big transfers, there are a lot of different interests but no matter what, I believe in football world should be more respect. 'So that's why we do things in the right way or we don't do them. It's very simple, even maybe in the media it looks very complicated.' Basanovic suggested Sesko could opt to stay put in German football if he is not presented with the right offer this summer. 'Well, his numbers at his age compared to some strikers with already great careers at his age are confirming my words,' he added. 'He will move from RB Leipzig only when we recognise a special club, a special project with a special coach.' Who would be the better signing for Arsenal? Wirtz's Liverpool medical imminent with Kerkez transfer and Isak decision next
Florian Wirtz's arrival is imminent at Liverpool after the Reds struck a historic £116.5m deal and there are some other transfers in the pipeline too as Arne Slot bids to retain the club's Premier League crown Liverpool are closing in on their biggest transfer ever as Florian Wirtz prepares to arrive from Bayer Leverkusen for an English record fee of £116.5million. It's a seismic deal to reflect Wirtz's status as one of the top players in the world right now and Liverpool will hope they can build their future around the talented German playmaker. Wirtz is set to arrive on Merseyside for a medical on Friday before an official announcement is made and the biggest deal of the transfer window is completed. Liverpool have been busy in the transfer market this summer, having already sold Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid for £10m and replacing him with Wirtz's old team-mate Jeremie Frimpong. But Arne Slot is still planning to secure more deals to ensure his side remain in fighting condition to retain their Premier League crown and win further silverware. There are already some transfers in the pipeline, so Mirror Football has taken a look at what comes next at Anfield. Kerkez set to sign The next immediate signing after Wirtz. A deal for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez appears to be all but done and we are now just waiting some i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed before a full agreement is reached. Liverpool are understood to be closing in on a £45m deal for Kerkez, though have not formally agreed a fee with the Cherries as of yet. However, that hasn't stopped the player's father from declaring the move "a done deal", which points to the Hungarian's inevitable arrival at Anfield. And Bournemouth have already signed Kerkez's replacement - spending £14.3m on Adrien Truffert from Rennes. Reports claim Kerkez's move could be wrapped up by the end of the week and he is expected to slot in as the club's first choice left-back. Liverpool explore Isak deal This is a signing that would really take Liverpool to another level. Alexander Isak was one of the best players in the Premier League last season after netting 23 times in the top flight to help Newcastle secure a Champions League spot. But his sensational displays in front of goal have left the Magpies reluctant to lose the Swedish international and it would take a massive transfer fee to even tempt them into selling their star man. However, Liverpool have still not given up hope of signing Isak, according to various reports, and are now putting in groundwork to see if a deal is possible. After already breaking their transfer record to sign Wirtz, they might have to shatter it again - and that could have implications for PSR regulations. He is said to be Liverpool's "dream target" after signing Wirtz but a move is thought to be "complicated" because of Newcastle's reluctance to sell. It's believed Newcastle would want at least £150m for a player who cost them £63m when he arrived from Real Sociedad in 2022, going on to score 62 goals in 109 appearances. Could Robertson leave? With Kerkez arriving imminently, that spells uncertainty for Andy Robertson, a man who was previously Liverpool's No 1 choice at left-back. The Scotland international came in for some criticism last season and Kostas Tsimikas was drafted in to replace him for a handful of games by manager Slot. The 31-year-old is about to enter his ninth season at Anfield, having won nearly every trophy available to him and Atletico Madrid are believed to be monitoring him over a potential move. Robertson admitted he was in the dark about his future while speaking this month. He said: "We have discussed [my future], of course we have. We've had good discussions, me and the club, but what the future holds, I'm not sure. "All I know is I fly off on holiday and it's well needed. I need a rest after a long season, and then I look forward to pre-season. That's all my focus is. I can't look too far ahead, I never have done that so I'm not going to start doing that now. 'I know the position I'm in, I know I've only got a year left. A lot's getting spoken about it, a lot's getting said, but my pure focus is focussing on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids. 'Then I'll try and come back in the best shape possible for pre-season, and then we'll see what the future holds when those decisions come.' Diaz and Nunez futures While the prospect of Wirtz and Isak might be an exciting one, Liverpool have to sort out the future of their other forwards, with Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez both linked with moves away this summer. There have been claims that Diaz is "convinced" that Wirtz's arrival will spell the end for him at Anfield and he has been linked with a move to Barcelona. But reports from Spain say the La Liga club are prioritising a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, which would put an end to rumours about Diaz should they wrap up that deal. Diaz has another two years left on his contract and Liverpool might be tempted to cash in, with Al-Nassr another interested party. It's no secret Liverpool will have to confirm some outgoings to balance the books and Nunez could be another out the door. Napoli have been linked with the towering forward as Antonio Conte seeks competition for Romelu Lukaku. Liverpool are said to value Nunez at around £50m, which could be a stumbling block for interested parties, while Diaz has reportedly been priced at a similar fee. Whatever happens, the Reds must sort out their futures quickly and either profit from their exits or quash the uncertainty. What else might happen? There are lingering question marks hanging over a handful of Liverpool stars, with Joe Gomez another player who could depart. The England defender has suffered with injuries since joining the club and missed a majority of the 2024-25 season. It's believed Liverpool would be willing to sell Gomez this summer after being left frustrated by his fitness problems. The Guardian have reported that Sunderland, Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham, Leeds, Burnley and even rivals Everton are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old, who is worth around £30m. Speculation that Federico Chiesa could return to Italy also continues, after the winger's disastrous season at Liverpool. He signed from Juventus for around £12m last summer but has struggled to get match fit and started only one game in the Premier League under Slot. Napoli and AC Milan have both been linked. Harvey Elliott is another possible outgoing for Liverpool after the 22-year-old midfielder admitted he didn't want to "waste years of my career". Aston Villa have been touted as a possible destination.
