5-star Brandon Arrington has Oregon in Top 5 schools after visit to Autzen Stadium
The spring football game serves many purposes for a program. It gives fans a chance to watch their favorite team out on the field. It's an opportunity to collect canned food for Food for Lane County. It also gives potential recruits a taste of what it's like playing inside Autzen Stadium.
Many recruits got an eye and earful of what the atmosphere is like on Saturday and it obviously impressed some of those recruits. One of them was Brandon Arrington, the No. 1 cornerback/athlete in the Class of 2026. He has Oregon in his top five schools, along with Penn State, Texas A&M, Alabama, and USC. Arrington says he will announce his decision on July 5.
According to 247sports.com, Arrington is a five-star player with a composite score of .9937, the No. 1 athlete in California, in the nation and is the No. 9 overall player in the country. In short, he's really good.
According to 247 Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins, Arrington's greatest strength is his speed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds.
" (He's a) two-sport standout and one of the fastest sprinters in the country," Biggins said. "Has personal best times of 10.43-100m and 20.76-200m as a sophomore and could easily double sport in college. On the grid-iron, shows the ability to play corner or receiver and should also develop into a dangerous return man."
Oregon has had an incredible history of football players also being track stars, which could would heavily in the Ducks' favor here.

UCLA, Penn State deny reports of private equity funding from Elevate
UCLA and Penn State have denied a report Monday by Sportico that they have partnered with consulting firm Elevate to receive funding from its $500 million College Investment Initiative. Elevate formally announced the initiative earlier Monday and told news outlets that two schools had signed up with the project. However, UCLA and Penn State officials each denied Sportico's reporting that they have engaged with the new fund. Both schools said they're partnered with Elevate for ticketing operations but not for private equity. The College Investment Initiative is backed by Velocity Capital Management and the Texas Permanent School Fund. The idea behind the initiative is to offer capital to schools for revenue-generating projects -- like NIL platforms or athletic venue upgrades. Boise State athletic director Jeramiah Dickey told Front Office Sports that his university is 'actively considering' private equity and hopes to have a deal set within the next six months. Former Texas A&M star Alex Caruso Shines in NBA Finals with career night and series tied
Former Texas A&M star Alex Caruso Shines in NBA Finals with career night and series tied The NBA Finals feature two former Texas A&M Aggies competing for a championship, and on a career night, Alex Caruso helped tie the series at 1-1 with an impressive playoff performance. Caruso is not typically known for his scoring prowess, but he has built his reputation as a high-energy defender who challenges the league's most elite guards. However, in Game 2, he became the sixth undrafted player in the last decade to score 20+ points in a Finals game. Most of his damage came from beyond the arc, where he shot 4-for-8, tallying 12 points. He was also perfect from the free-throw line, going 4-for-4. Now in his ninth season, Caruso has another chance to earn an NBA championship ring, his first came in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Since then, he has remained a solid defensive presence, earning NBA All-Defensive First and Second Team honors in 2023 and 2024. A&M fans will have reason to celebrate either way, whether Caruso secures his second ring or Quenton Jackson earns his first. We wish them both the best of luck for the remainder of the series. 2026 4-star Texas A&M TE commit has shut down his recruitment
2026 4-star Texas A&M TE commit has shut down his recruitment Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is one of the hottest growing cycles in the country, already locking down two of the highest-ranked prospects in the class as four-star WR Aaron Gregory and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton have shut down their recruitment and future official visits, and will more than likely sign with the Aggies during Early Signing Day on December 4. Multiple players shutting down their recruitment is an impressive feat for any coaching staff, especially after A&M's 1-4 finish during the 2024 season, which has not affected the amount of recruiting talent that descended on College Station last weekend. On Monday, another 2026 commit who visited this weekend, four-star tight end Caleb Tafua, has joined Gregory and Hatton in shutting down his future visits. Tafua committed to the Aggies on December 1, 2024. OC Collin Klein's tight end-centric offense took center stage last season and is expected to be even more successful in the passing game in 2025, thanks to an influx of talent from the transfer portal and the 2025 signing class. For Tafua, his future as a hybrid tight end who could be an instant threat through the air is in College Station. Tafua has continued to garner attention from several programs, primarily due to his elite athletic profile as a standout basketball and volleyball player, which has enhanced his ability as a receiver, with impressive quickness evident in his route running. According to 247Sports, Tafua is currently positioned as the 13th-ranked tight end and the 28th-ranked prospect in California.
