Fintech firm PayNearby on Thursday said it has partnered with healthcare company M-Swasth to deliver affordable and quality healthcare services to underserved communities through a network of over 3,800 specialised e-clinics . As part of PayNearby's Digital Naari initiative , this collaboration will enable families to access 24x7 digital OPD consultations, unlimited video tele-checkups, and direct access to 22 specialist doctors, ensuring continuous and comprehensive medical support, a joint statement said.The initiative also includes free prescribed medicines at M-Swasth e-clinics and offers healthcare coverage for up to six family members for one year, it said.By making essential medical services more accessible and cost-effective, this partnership strengthens last-mile healthcare delivery, ensuring timely care, it said.Through strategic partnerships, Digital Naari is equipping women with tools to deliver banking, digital, and now healthcare services, enabling them to drive meaningful financial and social transformation in underserved communities."With the integration of M-Swasth into our Digital Naari platform, we are now bringing quality and affordable healthcare to the doorstep of Bharat," Anand Kumar Bajaj, MD & CEO of PayNearby, said.This partnership will provide medical support to people through a network of 3,800 specialised e-clinics, it said.

Soon, Cama Hospital to offer full range of IVF services
Mumbai: After offering basic fertility treatment for the last 18 months, the state govt-run Cama Hospital near CST will soon upgrade to provide complete in-vitro fertility (IVF) treatment for women for free. "We have got permission to start IVF treatment such as embryo implantation, and are in the process of giving final touches to our laboratory," said Medical Superintendent Dr Tushar Palve. The complete IVF services, he added, should start within a month. In April 2024, the hospital became the first govt hospital in the city to offer basic fertility treatment such as intrauterine insemination (or artificial insemination in which sperm is placed directly into a woman's uterus) and ovulation induction (use of medication to stimulate the ovaries to release one or more eggs). Over 100 women were provided such treatment, resulting in 17 pregnancies since April 2024. Between April and December 2024, 78 women were provided treatment that resulted in eight pregnancies. "In 2025, we treated 35 women and nine were urine-positive pregnancies," said Dr Palve. "Cama is the first state govt hospital to bridge the gap between technology and accessibility, making the dream of parenthood possible for many," he added. The country's second test-tube baby—and the state's first—was born in BMC-run KEM Hospital, Parel in 1986. After a gap of 39 years, the hospital will soon start a full-fledged IVF clinic. Erode Corporation to auction modern abattoir at Vairapalayam
The Corporation will soon auction the modern cow slaughterhouse, constructed at a cost of ₹75 lakh at Vairapalayam, and has outlined various guidelines for its operation and maintenance by the contractor. Established on a 10,500 sq ft site under the Infrastructure Gap Filling Fund 2016–17 in Zone I, the facility is intended to operate under the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) scheme for the slaughter of large animals (cows). The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has granted Consent to Operate, and the facility is now ready for use. Accordingly, the civic body has decided to invite public tenders or conduct an auction to identify a contractor to run the facility. The Corporation has stipulated several conditions for the operator. The contractor is permitted to charge only ₹100 per cow for slaughtering and is also required to serve meat shops within the Corporation limits. Slaughtering must be conducted strictly within the designated space on the premises, and waste must be disposed of within three hours. If the contractor fails to do so, Corporation workers will remove the waste and recover the charges from the operator. Slaughtering is permitted only between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., and again from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. It is prohibited on designated holidays such as Gandhi Jayanti and Mahavir Jayanti. The operator will bear the electricity charges and must ensure that the premises are properly cleaned, washed, and maintained. An official said that the agenda for the auction was tabled and approved at the council meeting held in May, and the auction process will begin shortly.

IIT-Madras unveils solar car for Aussie challenge
CHENNAI: Braving scorching heat and strong crosswinds, a solar-powered car named Aagneya, built by students of IIT Madras, will travel 3,000 km from Darwin to Adelaide in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2025, scheduled from August 24 to 31. Developed by Team Agnirath from the Centre for Innovation, the car features a carbon fibre body and a machine learning-based strategy module that makes real-time decisions based on weather, terrain, and solar input. The vehicle is engineered to withstand temperatures above 50°C, winds exceeding 60 km/h, and other harsh conditions. Unveiled on Friday by IIT-M Director V Kamakoti, Aagneya is the result of over 15,000 hours of work by a 38-member student team. The director urged alumni and industry support to help scale such innovation and fuel further technological advancement.
