Tennessee completed a three-game series sweep, March 9-11, 2018, at Marge Schott Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Vols won the series opener, 3-2 in 12 innings. Freshman left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet made his first career start in Tennessee's win at Cincinnati.
Crochet pitched eight innings and recorded eight strikeouts, while totaling 100 pitches. He allowed five hits, two runs (one earned) and zero walks against 31 batters.
Crochet was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft (No. 11 overall). The former Vols was traded to Boston ahead of the 2025 MLB season.
