VIERA, Fla. - Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for multiple suspects who fled on foot after a high-speed crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a suspected street racing incident that led to a crash on I-95 in Brevard County. The crash occurred near State Road 520 in Cocoa. The three occupants fled the vehicle on foot and remain at large.

The incident began near Exit 191 in Viera and ended roughly 10 miles north at State Road 520 in Cocoa. Investigators say the suspects had been racing on the highway before their car crashed, prompting all three occupants to run from the scene.
A woman identified only as Sabrina said her vehicle was sideswiped by the Charger during the crash.
"All of a sudden, this Dodge Charger-looking car just smashed into the side of my car, took out the whole side front end," she said. "I'm blown away right now. I'm in shock."
She described a heavy law enforcement presence immediately following the crash.
"They're searching for them, running around with ARs and everything," she said.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office responded with patrol deputies, K-9 units, and an aviation team to assist FHP.
"Our deputies responded along with our K9s and our aviation unit," said sheriff's spokesperson Tod Goodyear.
Two sheriff's office patrol vehicles were damaged while responding to the scene. No injuries were reported.
"Luckily, in this case, there were no accidents on I-95 involved in this pursuit," Goodyear said. "The only accident was the vehicle itself."

The state just asked a judge to revoke the bond granted to a co-defendant tied to the investigation into Sheriff Lopez. The backstory Osceola County Sheriff Maros Lopez, who is accused of helping run a gambling ring at the Eclipse Club, was arrested last week and has since been held without release. His attorney initially requested a bond reduction hearing, but later canceled it, and no further court activity has appeared on the docket over the past several days. The state has asked a judge to revoke the bond granted to a co-defendant tied to the investigation into Sheriff Lopez. Sharon Fedrick already has a bond from a different case in Orange County. She was charged with organized fraud and identity theft in 2020, but spent four years as a fugitive. Those four years were when the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said she was working at the Eclipse Club. Three of Lopez's four co-defendants have bonded out of jail. One remains at large. What they're saying Sharon Fedrick told FOX 35 as she bonded out of jail that she had no involvement in illicit activity at the Eclipse. "Pick up the owner. I'm not the owner," she said. "Justice will be served." The motion to revoke her bond argues, "Due to her facing almost certain time in the Department of Corrections and his history of absconding, there is extreme likelihood the Defendant will abscond again. There are no conditions of release which are reasonably likely to assure [her] appearance]" at future court hearings. What's next The attorney for Sheriff Lopez will have to request a hearing to prove to a judge where his bail funds came from, showing the money was obtained legally. Once approved, he will be able to bond out of jail. Federal authorities, including Homeland Security investigators, have indicated additional arrests are possible as the case develops. FHP: Investigation underway after crash involving Daytona Beach Police Car
Troopers said they are investigating a crash that happened Thursday afternoon in Volusia County involving a marked Daytona Beach Police Department patrol car. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 4:54 p.m. at the intersection of Jean Street and Orange Avenue in Daytona Beach. The news release states that a 2008 Ford Fusion was stopped at the stop sign in the northbound lane of Orange Avenue at the intersection of Jean Street. A marked Daytona Beach Police Department patrol car was traveling westbound on Orange Avenue, heading towards a green traffic light at the intersection of Jean Street. Troopers said a 2012 Toyota Yaris was stopped at the stop sign in the southbound lane of Orange Avenue at the same intersection. FHP said the Ford Fusion driver failed to yield the right of way after leaving the stop sign and entered the intersection in the direct path of a marked police car. Investigators said that as a result, the right side of the Ford Fusion hit the front of the police car. Troopers said the impact caused the Ford Fusion and the police car to steer off right and hit the front of the Toyota Yaris. The driver of the Ford Fusion, a 26-year-old female from Daytona Beach, along with a 2-year-old passenger and the police officer, sustained minor injuries. The 48-year-old female driver of the Toyota Yaris, also from Daytona Beach, was not injured. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash. BPD identifies alleged drunken driver in fatal Union Ave crash
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Police have identified the 19-year-old man who allegedly drove drunk and ran a red light Tuesday in central Bakersfield, resulting in a crash that left one person dead and two others injured. Nathon Michael Ramirez was the driver of a white BMW that crashed into a Dodge Charger at the intersection of Union and East California avenues, police said Thursday. He remained hospitalized, police said. The BMW then crashed into a fence and caught fire. The 27-year-old driver of the Dodge, whose name had not been released as of Thursday afternoon, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
