Race-by-race tips and previews for Tuesday's race meeting at Tamworth

Selections based on a soft track
Race 1
9. Lady Lilibet won a trial at Scone before resuming with a midfield effort at Scone behind Spenzalot. She followed that up with a last start fifth at Quirindi when finishing fifth behind Jason Darren and looks suited by the step up in distance here third-up. 3. Deemee was a Dubbo winner three starts ago and has since finished second in two runs at Scone and Dubbo, the latest behind Yak. He looks to be a leading contender again based on those efforts. 4. Omikami made solid ground from back in the field to finish midfield at Wellington when last produced and should be hitting the line well again. 11. Pathelia was placed in a couple of runs in succession before a midfield Quirindi effort at her last start. She is not the worst here.
How to play it: Lady Lilibet EACH WAY.
Race 2
8. Zelestial is an imported mate that has two runs in the UK before being brought to NSW to her new trainer. She's had two trials leading into this and has performed well in each of them, winning at Scone and this track. Expect her to be primed for a bold showing. Trainer Kris Lees has a strong hand here. He has 4. Cornerback on debut after two trials, and he looks set to run well fresh from a good draw. Stablemate 1. Taity is also on debut and has been fitted for this with a number of trials under his belt. The other Lees runner is 2. Enchanted World, and she has also had plenty of trials leading into this debut effort.
How to play it: Zelestial WIN.
Race 3
5. Maxandus has only had two starts but has shown talent with a fifth on debut at this track before a second at his only other start, also here. He looks to have plenty of upside and has Aaron Bullock in the saddle from a good gate. 4. Down The Kooka had three starts late last year earlier this year and followed a couple of fifths with a second at Dubbo before being spelled. He's had a trial in preparation for this when not beaten far and warrants respect. 7. Considered debuted with a third at Armidale back in November and was then spelled. He's had two trials leading into this return to racing and won the latest of them at this track. 2. Beaumista resumes here and ran well in a trial at this track behind Zelestial.
How to play it: Maxandus WIN.
Race 4
4. Pieronimo has been racing well with two placings to his name from two races since resuming from a spell at Scone and Newcastle. He's drawn well enough here and looks overdue to break through with a win. 6. Southerly Buster was placed in his first two starts at Newcastle before a last start seventh at the same track. He has shown enough to be rated a hope here. 5. Skit 'N' Skat has been placed in one of his four starts and resumed from a lengthy spell with a last start eighth at Armidale. 3. Outspeed resumes here on the back of two recent trials and while he's yet to figure in the placings he could show up fresh in this.
How to play it: Pieronimo WIN.

Track: Heavy 9 and rail out 4m Race 1 1. Pratt is an emerging three-year-old resuming off two strong trials on the Beaumont circuit here, and is bred to thrive in heavy ground. Was competitive enough in deeper races in that initial campaign, and looks to have this lot covered, especially with a leading and trial-winning rider in the saddle. 8. Perasta is also trained on the course, and can improve sharply after doing nothing first-up. Another local 2. Enchanted World is a filly on debut for the home track Kris Lees stable, and has been given plenty of time at the trials. How to play it: Pratt to win Race 2 3. Tyrone's Power will likely jump a clear favourite off a solid second start run at Warwick Farm in soft ground. Carries only 1kg more here coming back to a much weaker juvenile race, and drawn to get the right trail just off speed. 1. Divo is a home tracker by Capitalist in the Nathan Doyle stable, and naturally a big watch behind two trial wins last month. 2. Toughenup Son, a debutante by Sebring Sun, and 8. Scarlet Monarch, with an edge in fitness fourth-up; can add value into trifecta and first fours. How to play it: Tyrone's Power to win Race 3 10. Prima Bella is a capable & still lightly raced metropolitan mare resuming off two trials, winning the former in heavy ground by a big margin. Returned off a long break and debut win to find the line OK in consecutive CL1 runs last spring before spelling. Relishes wet tracks, and given her early tactical speed, the short course trip is ideal. 5. Hawker Hall is an exciting local who has to overcome a wide gate, but blew away his opposition in heavy ground here a month ago as the hottest of favourites before kept ticking over with the easiest of trial wins. Keep safe 2. Kiribati who also returns off a sound trial with an important gear change, and comes to hand quickly. How to play it: Prima Bella to win Race 4 7. Tommy Thug is a tough metropolitan five-year-old who is bursting to break through well into the prep in what is a thinner race. Mixed his form in two heavy track runs here, found to have cardiac arrhythmia from the latter, before only missing by a neck in a stronger race at Hawkesbury, and the winner has since scored easily again. Has placed eight times from 13 starts, and draws to get a soft run right behind the speed. 2. Trapalanda can improve sharply over more ground third-up, and back significantly in grade. 1. De Louviere is honest and has been in and around the money all prep. How to play it: Tommy Thug to win
