Glasgow parents buying 'anti-theft device' for kids' dolls
The Labubu dolls, which have shot to viral fame on TikTok, have seen people queuing for hours in the Barras to try and buy one.
Never Miss a Gift is the only stall at the famous East End market selling the dolls, which have become a global phenomenon.
And they've now revealed they've had to find a solution for parents as there's been a shocking increase in 'thefts in schools' of the creepy-cute accessories.

Never Miss a Gift said: "Sadly, over the last few weeks, there has been a small number of parents who have come to purchase replacement Labubus as their kids have had them stolen at school.
"We know only too well that these collectable Labubu Dolls are so expensive, and if they are stolen, it causes so much distress for the kids and doubles the expense.
"We looked to source a device that could make stealing the Labubu's more difficult, and we are happy to say we found, purchased and tried out this super little product that really does work.
"We will have them for sale at our Barras Market Shop and also on our website."

The 'Anti-Theft Labubu Coil Device' wraps around the clasp, which is usually used to attach the doll to a bag.
Never Miss a Gift says they have tried and tested the device and that it "also looks good on the pendant," so it won't ruin the look of the designer doll.
Three generations help stock and sell from the family-run stall, which has rocketed to success since opening in the market last year.
Speaking to us about the demand for the dolls last month, they said: "The queues start at around 7am and are right out the door.
"We've had to start limiting sales to one per customer so that less people are disappointed.
'I told my daughter we should start handing out tickets, but she said that was too far.
'It's really sad to see people upset when we run out, but we just can't keep up with the demand.
'We usually only get this busy at Christmas, so it's nice to have such a buzz about the place at this time of year.'

There are two main types of Labubu, the Have a Seat and the Macaron, with the newer Big Into Energy series due in stock soon.
With the Barras only open from 10am until 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays, there's always huge demand for the sprite-like creatures, which they describe as 'creepy cute'.
Part of the appeal also lies in the element of surprise - Labubu dolls are sold in 'surprise boxes', meaning you don't know which character you'll get until you unwrap it.

This fuels the 'addictive' nature of the collectables and the stall says: 'The minute people get one, they want them all.
"I would put them in the same bracket as when my daughter was into Cabbage Patch Dolls or my son was into Ninja Turtles".
The rarest of 'The Monsters' even fetch 'thousands of pounds' when resold online.
Labubu come from the imagination of Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung, who credits their inspiration to folk tales from Norway.
Made by Japan-based Pop Mart, the company has seen their profits rise by 188 per cent in the past year.

M3GAN 2.0, review: A riotous return for the viral psychotic doll
When the decision was made to produce a follow-up to M3GAN – the popular 2023 horror about an artificially intelligent doll that turns evil – writer-director Gerard Johnson faced what might be called the 'Jurassic Park problem'. In a sequel to a film in which a fun invention ends up causing the violent deaths of multiple innocent parties, how do you get one of the survivors to say with a straight face: 'Right then, guys, who's up for building another one?' This uproarious (if not especially scary) sequel has the measure of the task at hand's silliness, and leans into it with infectious glee. However you thought a M3GAN sequel might begin, it probably wasn't with a helicopter shot of a desert compound and the caption: 'Somewhere near the Turkey-Iran border' – yet here we are, in a highly topical war zone, where an even nimbler and more murderous M3GAN successor, known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), is in the process of becoming a headache for the US secret services. The only way to bring this new rogue AI under control, it transpires, is to boot up the old one in all her prim, pussy-bowed glory – and hope that this time she decides to take humanity's side. No one could argue that the original M3GAN carried itself like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: highlights included its title character singing Sia's Titanium and sashaying through a dance that subsequently went viral on TikTok. But this second chapter is so driven by antics – and wisely so – that it barely qualifies as horror at all. Tonally, the genre it most recalls, in fact, is a very specific one: films from the Eighties and Nineties, which you'd swear had originally been aimed at children but discover on rewatching that they're completely unsuitable for anyone below their mid-teens; think Gremlins, Kindergarten Cop, and so on. There is relatively little here in the way of honest fright. Rather, as M3GAN's human creator Gemma (Allison Williams) becomes increasingly embroiled in her comeback, there are glamorous parties to infiltrate, concept cars to hijack – AI self-drivers, naturally – and heists to pull off, with the aid of chloroformed handkerchiefs. M3GAN herself, played again by 14-year-old dancer Amie Donald and voiced by Jenna Davis, is less spooky possessed doll than sassy robo-mascot, with dialogue that couldn't have been cattier if it had come from a Whiskas tin. In her temporary exoskeletal form, she reminds you of Johnny Five in the Short Circuit films – there's a lovely, tactile judder to her movements as she trundles around her lair – while Amelia's quadrupedal scuttle has a stop-motion feel that adds to the film's comic bite. So too does Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement, who pops up as a smug, sleazebag tech bro, and comedian Aristotle Athari, who delivers a subtly berkish variant. And while Johnson's screenplay makes great play of the topicality of the AI debate, it adds – by design, I think – absolutely nothing of value to the discussion at all. Will clips of M3GAN 2.0 appear in AI documentaries 50 years from now, as an example of what we poor saps worried was on the horizon? Almost inevitably. Whilst she was pregnant, Victoria Wright, who is better known as 'Vickaboox' online, nabbed a haul of bargain buys from B&M and Primark to give her outside space a mega makeover. The 29-year-old content creator, who now has a baby boy called Christopher, took to social media to share her balcony transformation, leaving many totally stunned. The mum-of-one who lives in a flat, showed off her 'basic' balcony and said: 'Let's take our balcony from boring, basic, plain, crusty, dusty to year of the bad B, not the sad B, cocktail in hand vibes and of course we've done it on the cheap using everything from Primark and B&M.' The influencer then revealed the step-by-step process of the balcony overhaul, as she added: 'So first of all, we cleaned the balcony…then once everything was clean, we laid out our new outdoor rug - this one was on sale in B&M for £12. 'We also got some reed screening from B&M on sale for £10, just to give that tropical vibe and also for a bit more privacy.' Victoria attached the reed screening with cable ties to ensure it was 'nice and secure' and explained that when they move, they can remove it easily without any damage. To then give the balcony a bit of colour, she added £1 hanging pots she bought from Primark and planted some flowers. Following this, she accessorised the space with cheap LED fairy lights and tea light holders. Thrilled with her balcony's new look, Victoria beamed: 'I think this looks super fun, super colourful, also deposit friendly because we rent, so we didn't have to change anything or make any dramatic changes. 'Just added a little bit of life and a bit of colour. I love it.' Meet the Clydebank couple celebrating 70 years of marriage
James and Hannah Cunningham were married on July 1, 1955, in the United Free Church in Knightswood. At their home in Faifley, the sweetheart couple have shared their journey, which has led them to their platinum wedding anniversary. They had big bands, and it was all ballroom dancing." 93-year-old James, best known as Jim, explained. He continued: "I think I said, 'Do you want to dance?'" "I had red hair, and he never ever thought he would go out with a redhead." 89-year-old Hannah responded. Two years after they met, James was called up for national service as a toolmaker. Despite being apart, the couple sent each other letters constantly to stay in touch. Jim said: "They used to tell us to write letters, encourage you to write home. We would sit in our billet because there was no television or even a radio, so you were virtually passing the time writing letters. "She would send me poems." Hannah added: "Do you know I have every single letter that he's ever given me? "I've answered every one of them. That's true love." Hannah has collected the letters, which have now turned yellow with age, in a box. (Image: Newsquest) Jim asked Hannah to marry him before he went to do his national service in England; however, when he returned from leave, he asked again, and they married not long after. (Image: unknown) The couple had three children together, two daughters and a son, when Jim came back from his service, where he ended up in a role as a civil servant. Sharing the most memorable moments of their life together, Jim shared the story of when Hannah went into labour with their second child. However, with no midwife in sight, it was up to Jim to deliver the baby. He said: "The midwife never turned up on time, it was just me. What else could I do except run around panicking? "We didn't have any phones, so I had to run to the phone box." Luckily, their son was born well at their home. "He gives in to me mostly", Hannah replied. The couple will share a night with family and friends to celebrate their 70 years of marriage.
