After this happens in game one, the way it's happened, like, where's your faith level that the Knicks can actually win this series like they did 2 or 3 decades ago when they beat Reggie Miller.

Well, it is only a game one, and I do not doubt their mental fortitude to come back and and as much as any team is able to do, put this behind them.
The reason why I have some serious doubts is because I think Um, maybe, I don't, I don't want to speak for any Knicks fans, but like I, I, I think there were some in the Knicks fan base that maybe did not have the level of respect for Indiana that I had.
Um, now, we had a couple of people here in Knicks film school that actually picked the Pacers to win the series, so I, I don't, it's not on our end.
They're just such a good basketball team, and if you spot them a game that you have, it's less about.

Can the Knicks come back and play well?
Can the Knicks make the tactical changes?
Can, you know, can they, can they figure out the defensive stuff?
It's more like you gave them, you gave them one of your wins.
And so now you have to not only get back that win, but you have to get 3 additional wins, you know, and that's, I mean, it's, it's just a tall order.
Um, I, I wouldn't put it past them, Kevin.
But if you're asking me right now, do, I mean, I picked the Knicks at 7 before the series.
If you're asking me right now, do I believe that they're gonna win?
I Sadly, I would say no, and I hope every Knicks fan throws that right back in my face two weeks from now if they end up winning the series.

I would love nothing more, nothing would make me happier.
I mean, look, I, I, I, I think you nailed it right there.
I picked the Knicks in 7.
I said it was basically a coin flip series that is gonna be an epic, you know, Down on the Wire series did not see that coming in game one, of course, but, but ultimately I feel with This series, you're spot on.
They gave one of the coin flick games away.
They had a win, and they gave it away.
And so it's hard to feel a lot of faith because of out of respect to Indiana to your point.
And to say one more thing just about Indy and I, I, the last thing I want to be doing is gushing about this team.
You know, Indy is not gonna give you an easy win.
I mean, clearly, because you know what?
Last night was probably the closest thing to it.
They're not gonna, they're not gonna give you the easy win.
And so you figure, you know, some series you get into and you're like, all right, there's gonna be a game where Team X shoots, you know, 40% from 3, and they're, and they're gonna, you know, have a, have a 15 or 20 point victory.
Like, I, I'm not accounting for that.
And I just think that the reason why I think the Pacers are so dangerous is because they could go down by 15 or 20 points.
They're still gonna play their style.
They're still gonna go out there, they're still gonna play as the only way they know how.
Um, and, you know, it's almost like, you know, there's no more dangerous than, than somebody with nothing to lose.
They play like they have nothing to lose.

Pete Alonso closing in on Mets home run record
DENVER (AP) — When he re-signed with the New York Mets last winter, Pete Alonso saw an opportunity to become the team's career leader in home runs and multihomer games. He checked one record off his list Sunday with a pair of two-run shots in a 13-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies — and the burly first baseman is closing in on the other. Advertisement Alonso's 23rd multihomer game broke a tie with Darryl Strawberry for the most in Mets history. The four-time All-Star and two-time Home Run Derby champion now has 243 career homers, passing David Wright (242) for second place on the franchise list — nine behind Strawberry. 'Honestly, it's just one of those things where I can't really be too involved in it,' Alonso said. 'For me, I just want to win. Whatever happens, capitalize on certain pitches in the zone, then I'll get my chance to do so by helping my team win. That's always been the focus.' Alonso hit two of New York's season-high six homers to help complete a 5-2 trip. He has six home runs and two multihomer games in June after going deep just four times in 27 games in May. He went 5 for 14 during the weekend series and has raised his batting average from .288 to .301 over the last eight games. 'There's a lot to like about his bat right now,' manager Carlos Mendoza said. 'Just dominating pitches in the strike zone. That's who he is. We know that the power's always been there, but now we're looking at a really good hitter.' Advertisement Alonso wasn't the only Mets player with a banner day. Juan Soto had three hits and walked three times to reach base in all six plate appearances. He became the first New York player to accomplish that feat since Alonso on Aug. 15, 2019, at Atlanta. 'It's not easy to do at the big league level,' Mendoza said. 'You get six times at the plate and you find a way to get on base. Finally getting results, but I feel the at-bat quality has been there.' Alonso's path toward becoming the Mets' career home run leader began when he set the major league record for rookies with 53 in 2019. He has hit at least 34 homers in each of his five full big league seasons and is on pace for 41 this year. Advertisement 'Pete's been pretty incredible this year. He's been locked in every single at-bat,' said teammate Jeff McNeil, who also hit two home runs Sunday. 'Seems like big situations he's going to do some damage. 'It's fun to watch and I feel like he's putting on a show every time he's at the ballpark.' ___ AP MLB: Michael Kelly, The Associated Press

Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot tears ACL, will miss rest of 2025 season
Chicago Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot will miss the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season after suffering a torn ACL in her right knee during Chicago's eventual 27-point loss to the Indiana Fever, the team announced Sunday. Vandersloot sustained the injury at the 5:29 mark of the first quarter of Saturday night's loss to Indiana while driving to the basket. Teammates gathered around her on the court as she lay on the floor in pain, and Vandersloot was eventually carried to the locker room before quickly being ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Advertisement 'It's heartbreaking,' Sky rookie guard Hailey Van Lith said after Chicago's loss. 'She's our engine,' coach Tyler Marsh added. 'She's our captain and our leader out there, so obviously, it's a huge blow.' Angel Reese, the second-year forward from LSU, posted her reaction on X. 🙏🏽 — Angel Reese (@Reese10Angel) June 8, 2025 Vandersloot, 36, was the No. 3 pick of the Sky in 2011 and spent the first 12 years of her career with the franchise, leading Chicago to its first championship in 2021. She played the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the New York Liberty, where she won the 2024 title, before returning to the Sky on a one-year deal this past offseason. 'We're thinking of her,' Liberty coach Sandy Brondello told reporters on Sunday. 'She's playing great. She's the leader out there.' Heading into this season, Vandersloot had already been Chicago's all-time assists leader, and she became the franchise's all-time leading scorer in late May, passing her wife, and fellow former Sky guard, Allie Quigley on the Sky's scoring list. Vandersloot started the first seven games of Chicago's season, averaging 10.6 points and 5.3 assists. Her injury will likely thrust Van Lith, the No. 11 pick in April's draft, into the Sky's starting lineup. Van Lith replaced Vandersloot after the injury occurred and played a career-high 26 minutes in Saturday's loss, which was the first WNBA game at the United Center. The Sky will also likely lean more on guards Ariel Atkins and Rachel Banham as they look to proceed and draw the most out of their developing frontcourt of Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese. Their first test without Vandersloot comes Tuesday, against her former team, as the Sky travel to Brooklyn to play the Liberty.
