Hunter Renfrow finally feels like himself again
Hunter Renfrow sat out last season in part because of a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, which left him with weight loss to 150 pounds, fatigue and high fever. The wide receiver spent a year consulting with doctors and getting the condition under control.
He signed with the Panthers in the offseason and is ready for a return to being the receiver he was in his only Pro Bowl season.
'Honestly, this is the best I've felt since probably 2021, by far,' Renfrow said, via Darin Gantt of the team website. 'Really, the last three years, I struggled my last two with the Raiders, and last year just struggled with fatigue, but this is by far the best I've felt since 2021. It's like anything: Rome wasn't built in a day. Just taking it day by day, stacking good days and telling yourself, even though you don't feel great, that it will get better. Just keep pushing through, putting one step in front of the other kind of mentality. And I feel like I've done that and every day I've felt better and better and better and better. I'm still not exactly 100 percent where I want to be, but I feel a lot better.'
Renfrow has changed his diet, eating more rice, chicken and steamed vegetables while cutting out processed foods, fried foods and sugar.
'My last two years in Vegas, I feel like one day a month I felt decent, while the other 29 I felt bad,' Renfrow said. 'Now I feel like there's one day a month I don't feel good and the other 29 feel good. So it's kind of flipped the script. It all stems from what I put in my body, how I feel it, and I've just been excited about how I felt.'
In five seasons, Renfrow has 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Lamar Jackson pushes for Ravens to sign Jaire Alexander, a former Louisville teammate
Lamar Jackson pushes for Ravens to sign Jaire Alexander, a former Louisville teammate Show Caption Hide Caption Ravens release kicker Justin Tucker after massage therapist allgations Ravens release kicker Justin Tucker, who was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 different employees of eight Baltimore area spas and wellness centers. Sports Pulse NFL free agency is well in the rear view as teams spent hundreds of millions of dollars on veteran talent in mid-March. But there are still some talented players left on the open market, including two-time second-team All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander. Alexander and the Green Bay Packers parted ways this offseason after failing to find a suitable trade partner or contract restructuring for the 28-year-old cornerback. One of his former college teammates is already pushing for their team to bring him in. Baltimore Ravens quarterback and fellow Louisville Cardinals alum Lamar Jackson made his pitch before accepting the Pro Football Writers of America MVP award at minicamp on June 17. "Go get him, Eric," Jackson said, referring to Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta. "I love all of our corners, don't get me wrong. But go get him Eric." The two played together for three years at Louisville. Alexander was a second-team all-conference cornerback in 2016 when Jackson won the Heisman Trophy. They both declared early to enter for the 2018 NFL Draft. Alexander went 18th overall to the Packers before Jackson went 32nd to the Ravens. In one of the best moments from Round 1 of the draft that year, Alexander stopped mid-interview to celebrate the Ravens drafting Jackson. As one of the top contenders in the AFC, Baltimore could always use depth in the secondary. They've built a reputation for signing veteran cornerbacks in recent seasons, too, with Tre'Davious White in 2024 and Ronald Darby in 2023. Alexander would be a younger player than either White or Darby were at their time of signing. Availability is a concern, though, as he played just 14 of 34 possible games over the last two seasons following his most recent Pro Bowl season in 2022. Can the Ravens sign Jaire Alexander? Baltimore is entering its second season under defensive coordinator Zach Orr and the team invested in cornerback in both free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. Chidobe Awuzie signed a one-year deal, and Baltimore drafted Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam in the sixth round. Awuzie is slated to start outside opposite 2024 first-round pick Nate Wiggins with Marlon Humphrey in the slot. Baltimore currently has $18.94 million in cap space in 2025, per OverTheCap, which is more than enough to sign Alexander to a short-term veteran contract. Ravens CB depth chart Alexander would be joining a crowded cornerback room in Baltimore. Jets sign ‘Thiccer Kicker' Harrison Mevis after impressive UFL stint
The 'Thiccer Kicker' is a New York Jet. The Jets signed former undrafted free agent Harrison Mevis, a 5-foot-11, 243-pound kicker, to their roster on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Mevis went 20-for-21 for the UFL's Birmingham Stallions last season, his only miss an attempt from 63 yards out. The 23-year-old has yet to see any regular-season NFL reps — he signed with the Panthers in May 2024, but got waived in August and joined the Stallions from there. Getty Images He enjoyed an outstanding career at Missouri, where he was a four-year starter and earned All-American honors after his sophomore year. He made 89 of the 109 field goals he attempted with the Tigers. His 'Thiccer Kicker' nickname was given to him by former Mizzou punter Grant McKinniss. While there, Mevis also kicked the SEC's longest-ever field goal, a 61-yarder that gave Mizzou a buzzer-beating 30-27 win over Kansas State in 2023. The Warsaw, Ind., native put that range on display in Birmingham last season, going 5-for-6 from 50-plus yards with an average of 64.9 yards on kickoff attempts. The move comes shortly after the Jets released veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein, who was with the team from 2022-24. Mevis will battle for playing time with rookie Caden Davis and Anders Carlson, who kicked in five games with the Jets last year. Newly signed Jets kicker Harrison Mevis spent the spring season with the UFL's Birmingham Stallions. Getty Images Mevis will look to continue the recent pipeline of UFL kickers who have built themselves a career in the NFL. The Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey, who also kicked for the Stallions before he was picked up by Dallas, has made the Pro Bowl in his first two NFL seasons. Jake Bates, who was with the UFL's Michigan Panthers before becoming the Lions' starting kicker in 2024, is another example. Mevis will have his first chance to make an impression on the Jets' coaching staff at training camp in July.

Panthers vs. Oilers live updates: Time, TV, odds for Stanley Cup Final Game 6 Show Caption Hide Caption Jets' Hellebuyck becomes fourth goalie to win MVP Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck became the fourth goalie since 1967 to receive the Hart Trophy and be named the NHL's MVP for the 2024/25 season. unbranded - Sport The Florida Panthers, who needed 30 years to win their first Stanley Cup championship, can become the ninth NHL team with back-to-back titles. All they need is a home victory against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 on Tuesday, June 17. The Panthers took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final with a defensive masterpiece in Game 5. "The most important thing is to stick with our game," Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov said. "You don't need to change anything. ... That's been our whole mindset the whole playoffs. The next game, you have be better than the previous game." The Panthers are 3-2 this postseason when they have a chance to close out a series. In last year's final, the Panthers gave up a 3-0 series lead before winning in Game 7. The Oilers are counting on their resilience as they try to force a seventh game, which would be on Friday, June 20, in Edmonton, Alberta. "For some reason when their backs are against up the wall and they've hit rock bottom and they're facing elimination … they play their best and they don't panic," Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said. Stuart Skinner will be back in the Oilers net for Game 6 after Calvin Pickard had played in Game 5. Troy Stecher will come out. Forward Kasperi Kapanen will return after sitting out Game 5, with Viktor Arvidsson coming out. Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch is giving Stuart Skinner the start in Game 6 with the season on the line after having Calvin Pickard start the previous game. "Stu's been in a lot of high-pressure games. He's played really well," Knoblauch said. "You look at the amount of elimination games he's played -- I think there's six last year -- and every single game that he played in were really solid if not spectacular performances." Ryan Nugent-Hopkins missed the morning skate, but the Oilers are expecting that he will play. Repeat Game 5 performance: The Panthers put on a defensive gem in Game 5, holding the high-flying Oilers to three shots in the first period and 21 shots overall. The Oilers didn't score in the 5-2 Panthers win until the third period when they were down 3-0. Get the early lead: They've outscored the Oilers 7-0 in the first period over the last three games. It didn't help them in Game 4 as Edmonton staged a major rally. But it's easier for the Panthers to play their style when they have the lead. Take advantage of the last line change: The Panthers are best when rolling lines. But they should try to get center Aleksander Barkov and defenseman Gustav Forsling out against Connor McDavid when possible, especially when the Oilers use McDavid and Leon Draisaitl together.
