Hunter Renfrow finally feels like himself again
Hunter Renfrow sat out last season in part because of a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, which left him with weight loss to 150 pounds, fatigue and high fever. The wide receiver spent a year consulting with doctors and getting the condition under control.
He signed with the Panthers in the offseason and is ready for a return to being the receiver he was in his only Pro Bowl season.
'Honestly, this is the best I've felt since probably 2021, by far,' Renfrow said, via Darin Gantt of the team website. 'Really, the last three years, I struggled my last two with the Raiders, and last year just struggled with fatigue, but this is by far the best I've felt since 2021. It's like anything: Rome wasn't built in a day. Just taking it day by day, stacking good days and telling yourself, even though you don't feel great, that it will get better. Just keep pushing through, putting one step in front of the other kind of mentality. And I feel like I've done that and every day I've felt better and better and better and better. I'm still not exactly 100 percent where I want to be, but I feel a lot better.'
Renfrow has changed his diet, eating more rice, chicken and steamed vegetables while cutting out processed foods, fried foods and sugar.
'My last two years in Vegas, I feel like one day a month I felt decent, while the other 29 I felt bad,' Renfrow said. 'Now I feel like there's one day a month I don't feel good and the other 29 feel good. So it's kind of flipped the script. It all stems from what I put in my body, how I feel it, and I've just been excited about how I felt.'
In five seasons, Renfrow has 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Alexander and the Green Bay Packers parted ways this offseason after failing to find a suitable trade partner or contract restructuring for the 28-year-old cornerback. One of his former college teammates is already pushing for their team to bring him in. Baltimore Ravens quarterback and fellow Louisville Cardinals alum Lamar Jackson made his pitch before accepting the Pro Football Writers of America MVP award at minicamp on June 17. "Go get him, Eric," Jackson said, referring to Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta. "I love all of our corners, don't get me wrong. But go get him Eric." The two played together for three years at Louisville. Alexander was a second-team all-conference cornerback in 2016 when Jackson won the Heisman Trophy. They both declared early to enter for the 2018 NFL Draft. Alexander went 18th overall to the Packers before Jackson went 32nd to the Ravens. In one of the best moments from Round 1 of the draft that year, Alexander stopped mid-interview to celebrate the Ravens drafting Jackson. As one of the top contenders in the AFC, Baltimore could always use depth in the secondary. They've built a reputation for signing veteran cornerbacks in recent seasons, too, with Tre'Davious White in 2024 and Ronald Darby in 2023. Alexander would be a younger player than either White or Darby were at their time of signing. Availability is a concern, though, as he played just 14 of 34 possible games over the last two seasons following his most recent Pro Bowl season in 2022. Can the Ravens sign Jaire Alexander? Baltimore is entering its second season under defensive coordinator Zach Orr and the team invested in cornerback in both free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. Chidobe Awuzie signed a one-year deal, and Baltimore drafted Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam in the sixth round. Awuzie is slated to start outside opposite 2024 first-round pick Nate Wiggins with Marlon Humphrey in the slot. Baltimore currently has $18.94 million in cap space in 2025, per OverTheCap, which is more than enough to sign Alexander to a short-term veteran contract. Jets sign ‘Thiccer Kicker' Harrison Mevis after impressive UFL stint
The 'Thiccer Kicker' is a New York Jet. The Jets signed former undrafted free agent Harrison Mevis, a 5-foot-11, 243-pound kicker, to their roster on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Mevis went 20-for-21 for the UFL's Birmingham Stallions last season, his only miss an attempt from 63 yards out. The 23-year-old has yet to see any regular-season NFL reps — he signed with the Panthers in May 2024, but got waived in August and joined the Stallions from there. Getty Images He enjoyed an outstanding career at Missouri, where he was a four-year starter and earned All-American honors after his sophomore year. He made 89 of the 109 field goals he attempted with the Tigers. His 'Thiccer Kicker' nickname was given to him by former Mizzou punter Grant McKinniss. While there, Mevis also kicked the SEC's longest-ever field goal, a 61-yarder that gave Mizzou a buzzer-beating 30-27 win over Kansas State in 2023. The Warsaw, Ind., native put that range on display in Birmingham last season, going 5-for-6 from 50-plus yards with an average of 64.9 yards on kickoff attempts. The move comes shortly after the Jets released veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein, who was with the team from 2022-24. Mevis will battle for playing time with rookie Caden Davis and Anders Carlson, who kicked in five games with the Jets last year.
