I was a teen mum & got benefits to have 2 more while staying at home – trolls say I'm ‘sponging' & ‘abusing the system'
A MUM has been slammed after admitting to using Universal Credit to stay home with her kids instead of finding work.
Charlotte Ruler, from the UK, first became a mum at just 19 years old and decided she wouldn't enter the world of work.

Instead, the now mum-of-three relied on Universal Credit to keep her afloat.
Taking to social media, the now 26-year-old, showed an image of herself and her first daughter when she first became a teen mum.
She said: "19-year-old me was told I should have 'better standards' than claiming Universal Credit to stay home with my baby."
Despite the backlash she received, Charlotte was steadfast in becoming a stay-at-home mum
Now with three children, she revealed she still thinks she made the right decision.
Charlotte added: "26-year-old me is SO glad I didn't listen!
"26-year-old me is purely grateful that I've been given the opportunity to spend this time with my children.
"I have the rest of my life to work full time, I only have these few years to spend raising my young children in their early years."
However, it seemed not everyone agreed with the young mum's outlook on how to use the benefit system.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed working and paying for you! I brought your children up, not you, as I paid for everything!" wrote one furious viewer
I'm a mum-of-2 on UC & fed up with people calling me a scrounger - yes I've got a £1.5k pram, I can have nice things too
Charlotte replied: "This is so funny. You think because you pay tax that means you're single-handedly paying for/bringing up my children? My partner works full time and pays tax but that doesn't count right?"
She also added: "People have to pay tax. Whether I work or not doesn't change that! I'm eligible for it, so I'll use it for now to enjoy raising my children."
The video shared by the mum went viral on her TikTok account @ charlotteandgirls with over 92k views and 2,100 likes.
People were eager to share their thoughts.
One person wrote: "Yeah for one child… but to have 3 and continue relying on benefits is the epitome of abusing the system."
Another commented: 'Benefits are not supposed to be a lifestyle choice, it's supposed to help those who need it. You chose to have 2 more kids whilst sponging, it's not a flex."
"Life's great when someone else pays for it, eh?" penned a third.
Meanwhile, many took Charlotte's side on prioritising raising her children.
A fourth said: "What are these comments. God forbid a mother values being a mother and spending time with her children instead of labouring! Work will always be there! People are brainwashed."
"Being a mother is a job. It's just unpaid so not respected, also people work who are on UC,' claimed a fifth.

Love Island viewers praise Yasmin Pettet and her 'messy' antics as they vow to keep her in the villa so she can keep making great TV
Love Island viewers have heaped praise on Yasmin Pettet as they vow to keep her in the villa so she can keep making great TV. The bombshell, 24, has been causing quite the stir in the villa as she has not held back when exploring her connections with Harry Cooksley and Dejon Noel Williams while coupled up with Shea Mannings. And one of her most recent antics involved getting close to Harry, who is coupled up with Helena Ford, in the Hideaway which involved a very steamy display from the pair. While chatting to one another, Yasmin said: 'I'm just waiting for you to just shut the f**k up and kiss me' to which Harry replied, 'really? come here then'. And ITV viewers have loved watching her antics in recent days as they flocked to social media to praise her for entertaining them. Islanders got stuck into a game of Beer Pong on Wednesday's episode which involved them guessing who made certain comments pulled out of a box. Despite being coupled up with Shea, Yasmin kissed two other boys during the course of the game - leaving him not best pleased during tonight's instalment. And ITV viewers have loved watching her antics in recent days as they flocked to social media to praise her for entertaining them Despite being coupled up with Shea (right), Yasmin (left) kissed two other boys during the course of the game - leaving him not best pleased When she pulled him for a chat around the fire pit to check in, he said: 'You made me look like a mug.' Yasmin replied: 'Yeah, that wasn't my intention, it was just a game that I felt everyone else was playing way too safe.' He was also not too happy with the lads - who he heard laughing as he headed over to talk to Yasmin about what happened. As Dejon - who Yasmin kissed during beer pong - admitted he laughed at his expense, Shea said: 'I've been made to look like a bit of a mug and I'm hearing laughing… 'Have some class, I thought we was all boys.' But Dejon was not laughing for long as there was trouble in paradise for him too. He faced his own tough conversation with Meg, who he has been paired with since the launch show. He told her: 'You blow my mind, I'm so confused… your dare was get in a sex position. You could have picked me and you picked Harrison...' Of her choice to select the new bombshell boy instead, Meg replied: 'I can pick Harrison because it's a joke.' And she later added: 'You told me I'm your number one priority… I don't know where I go from here. I'm taking a big step back.' Love Island fans were left cringing over a toe-curling chat between Dejon Noel-Williams, Toni Laites and Yasmin Pettet, as talk in the villa once again turned to a threesome during Wednesday's episode. While the ITV2 show is known for its racy moments, this exchanged proved too much for some fans, who admitted they were 'uncomfortable' about the chat. Despite the fact that Dejon's partner Meg Moore had already been left upset by Yasmin and Toni's previous threesome chat, the conversation returned to the topic in Wednesday's episode. Toni made a jaw-dropping confession about enjoying a threesome with a 'p**n star and an NFL player,' leading Dejon to say: 'You know what really gets me going? It's simple but kissing, that really gets me going. 'I love talking, you know when someone's talking dirty to me, I love that.' Yasmin admitted: 'It comes out in the heat of the moment. You're in the right place my friend, this is a safe space!' leading Dejon to declare he 'just loved sex.' As Yasmin cheekily said: 'You are good-looking! We were already in your head honey!' Dejon admitted he needed to leave the conversation. The racy chat left some fans with a toe-curling reaction, with comments including: 'This conversation between Toni, Yasmin and Dejon is making me extremely uncomfortable;' 'Yasmin, Toni and Dejon are unreal. I can't believe my ears;' 'Omggg I can't do this Dejon x Toni x Tasmin convo, how did I use to watch Love Island season 2/3 with a straight face at like the age of 10;' 'Toni and Yasmin are on the wrong show. They need to go on Temptation Island or Too Hot To Handle.' Love Island fans were left cringing over a toe-curling chat between Dejon Noel-Williams, Toni Laites and Yasmin Pettet, as talk in the villa once again turned to a threesome on Wednesday Despite the fact that Dejon's partner Meg Moore had already been left upset by previous threesome chat, the conversation returned to the topic in Wednesday's episode Chat of the threesome had already annoyed Meg the previous day, so she was visibly furious when she learned from Dejon that Toni and Yasmin had once again broached the topic. While Toni was quick to state there was no real chance of them having a 'f*****g threesome,' Meg hit back: 'It's just a respect thing.' Toni noted that the issue was something Meg needed to discuss with Dejon, but she was quick to end the chat. Yasmin noted that Dejon 'hadn't done anything wrong,' and insisted he had been 'so open and so honest' during their exchange. Viewers seem to take Yasmin's side, with some calling out Meg for holding 'conferences' with Dejon each and every episode. Love Island continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Bet they wished they'd reined it in! Royal Ascot revellers spotted making their way home after a big day on their feet... in the 32.2C heat
Revellers at Royal Ascot spilled out onto the street as they were spotted heading home on the hottest day of the year so far. Drinks were flowing in the scorching heat and many racegoers were looking a little worse for wear after leaving the venue. Even King Charles was seen adjusting his tie in the tropical conditions as other racegoers cooled down with magnums of champagne and old-fashioned fans. And the going was stifling for the horses, who were doused in buckets of water as forecasters warned of a four-day heatwave set to see Britain turn hotter than Hawaii – with 34C (93F) expected in the South and East this weekend. Royal Ascot, known as the jewel in the crown of the UK racing calendar, will welcome hundreds of thousands of punters during the five-day meet. The term Ladies Day was first used in 1823 when an anonymous poet described the Thursday of the annual meeting as 'Ladies' Day … when the women, like angels, look sweetly divine.' While there is no official prize on offer for best dressed lady as there is at other race meetings, ticket holders were still eager to put their best foot forward. Stylish racegoers at today's event turned the racecourse into a sea of vibrant outfits as they donned bright prints to ensure they stood out from the crowd. One lady keeps cool with a handheld fan in the scorching sunlight Many of those arriving at the main spectators' enclosure opted for coordinating outfits with their friends too. However, the combination of the blistering sun and an indulgence of drinks proved tough for many. A large police presence was spotted throughout the Berkshire town to keep people in check. Fans were treated to an exciting day of racing as seven-year-old Trawlerman won the Gold Cup with his jockey William Buick. In a race that dates back to 1807, the horse on his 21st race sprung out of the starting stalls and never looked back. The horse which was ridden by legendary jockey Frankie Dettori eight times, began its career during the pandemic. But yesterday it had its finest hour in the two-and-a-half-mile race. Buick was congratulated by King Charles and Queen Camilla, who braved the heat in Berkshire. Taxi! Time to head home for this group of racegoers eager to get out of the sun Two ladies give their feet a rest after walking in heels at the races all day long Also amongst the punters for Ladies Day were famous faces such as former model Jerry Hall, who attended with her son Gabriel Jagger and daughter-in-law Anouk Winzenried. As temperatures soared in excess of 32C –almost 90F – racegoers clad in their finery, including full morning suits for the men, began dropping like flies. At least one person was taken to hospital and more than 40 treated for heat-related illness. The last time Britain reached 34C in June was almost six years ago on June 29, 2019, at Northolt and Heathrow. The record for the month is 35.6C (96.1F) on June 29, 1957, at Camden Square, central London. As The UK Health Security Agency issued a four-day amber heat health alert from noon yesterday until 9am on Monday, even Newcastle-upon-Tyne is forecast to hit 31C (87.8F) tomorrow. The agency warns 'significant impacts are likely' across health and social care services because of high temperatures, including a rise in deaths – particularly among those aged 65 and over. An official heatwave is logged when areas reach a certain temperature for three consecutive days, with thresholds varying from 25-28C (77-82F) in different parts. Temperatures are set to fall back to the mid-20s by the start of next week.

Steph Claire Smith shares eye-opening data that shows the harsh reality of having a three-week old newborn and a toddler: 'Semi-terrifying'
Steph Claire Smith has revealed the harsh reality of having a three-week-old baby. The KIC co-founder, 31, who welcomed her second child at the end of May, took to Instagram to share what it's really like getting through the night with a newborn. 'A realistic time-stamped night with a three-week-old and four-year-old,' she captioned the first slide, which showed her holding baby Billie while dressed in her pyjamas. The second slide then revealed just how difficult juggling two children under five can really be. Written on her Notes app, Steph detailed a time-stamped night with her kids, which included getting up at multiple intervals to feed her little one, while also soothing her son, Harvey. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Written on her Notes app, Steph detailed a time-stamped night with her kids, which included getting up at multiple intervals to feed her little one, while also soothing her son, Harvey\ The mum-of-two fed her newborn five times between 8:30pm and 8:30am, while waking up at 5:20am when her four-year-old wanted a cuddle. In the caption, Steph said she was inspired by other mums who had documented their nights with their babies and that she took her hat off to them for being able to film their multiple wake-ups. 'I wanted to share what an average night looks like for us at the moment but absolutely did not have the capacity or motivation to film haha so I took notes instead,' she admitted. Steph then went on to reveal that her friend and KIC co-founder Laura Henshaw, who announced her first pregnancy in June, praised her for the raw post, while also pointing out that it was 'terrifying'. 'Laurs messaged me yesterday and sent me one video, saying it was super insightful but also semi terrifying (as she's expecting) and I get why it would be! 'Some nights are rougher than others. Some people have more support than others. Some people are bottle feeding or expressing on top of feeds and others don't. So it's important not to compare and question,' she said of the experience. The social media star then revealed that finding her feet with a newborn was way trickier the first time around and that she had found the process easier with her second. 'The transition from 0-1 baby is without a doubt, more than 1-2.. at least it has been in our experience! 'You may look at nights like these as someone without kids and think how the F am I going to cope.. and let me assure you, you just do.' She added: 'The more support you can have from your partner if you have one, or family throughout the day to give you rest in the day, the better.' Steph and her husband Josh Miller welcomed their second child in May, announcing the exciting news on Instagram. 'She's here,' wrote Steph. 'Billie Claire Miller joined us on Wednesday & we're so in love. So excited to take her home to her big brother.' Alongside the sweet caption, the KICPOD co-host posted a gallery of black and white photos to commemorate the important occasion. One image saw Steph cuddling the bub as she breastfed. In another, she and Josh doted on their bundle of joy, who they dressed in an adorable onesie and white beanie. The final picture in the reel saw Steph cradling her daughter to her chest as she smiled up at the camera.
