A man and a teenager have been arrested in relation to a serious assault in west Dublin yesterday.
The incident took place at a home on Kilcronan View in Clondalkin on Friday afternoon. A man, aged in his 20s, was rushed to Tallaght Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The pair - a man in his 20s, and a male teenager - were both arrested this morning by gardai. Investigating officers have also repeated their call for any witnesses or anyone with footage of the area to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí investigating a serious assault at a residence in Kilcronan View, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, yesterday afternoon, Friday 9th May 2025, have arrested two individuals. A man, aged in his 20s, and a youth, aged in his late teens, were arrested earlier today, Saturday 10th May 2025.
"Both males are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Dublin. A man (20s) remains in hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries following the incident.
"Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with any information relating to this incident to please come forward. Anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area between 12.30pm and 1.30pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on (01) 666 7600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing."

Live: Disorder continues across NI as Co Antrim leisure centre targeted
Disorder has broken out in Larne on Wednesday night as a leisure centre becomes the subject of attacks. PSNI officers have also returned to the streets of Ballymena as a number of protests take place across Northern Ireland. Images circulating online show bins set alight in from of Larne Lesiure Centre and a number of windows smashed and vandalised as it is alleged individuals were taken there after disturbances in Ballymena on Tuesday. It comes after 17 officers were injured during incidents on June 10, as a spokesperson said officers came under sustained attack over a number of hours with multiple petrol bombs, heavy masonry, bricks and fireworks thrown in their direction in the Clonavon Terrace area. Violent disorder has taken place in the Co Antrim town for two nights following a protest march held in the arrests over an alleged sexual assault on a teenager at the weekend. Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with attempted rape and a PSNI spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday a third person, aged 28, has been arrested in connection to the investigation. Five people were arrested on suspicion of riotous behaviour on Tuesday and a male was also arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour on the O'Neill Road in Newtownabbey. PSNI vehicles have blocked the main street area of Harryville on Wednesday evening as PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson said the force would be bringing extra officers, vehicles and equipment to areas where unrest has taken place. Online reports say that demonstrations are set to take place in various areas across the country including Belfast, Portadown and Coleraine. Two protests are facing off in Magherfelt. As a local MLA for the area, neither I nor my DUP Council colleagues were made aware or consulted on this decision until late this afternoon. It has now been confirmed to us by the PSNI and Council that all these individuals are in the care of the Housing Executive and have been moved out of Larne. Protesting is of course a legitimate right but violence is not and I would encourage everyone to remain peaceful. Tributes pour for retired engineer who died in Kerry road accident
Tributes have been paid to this pensioner – who was one of two cyclists to die on Irish roads within 24 hours. Paddy O'Donoghue, 78, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle as he cycled in his native Co Kerry on Tuesday afternoon. Mr O'Donoghue, who was from Muckross in Killarney, lost his life in the accident near Kilgarvan at around 1.40pm. Mr O'Donoghue was a former engineer at Kerry County Council and was well known and respected in the area. Local Non-Party councillor Martin Grady, who knew Mr O'Donoghue, paid an emotional tribute to him on Wednesday. He told The Irish Mirror: 'Paddy was a true gentleman. He loved the outdoors. He was a keep fit man, enjoyed Kerry's beauty every opportunity he got. He loved hillwalking and cycling. 'I want to offer my condolences to his family and friends. 'Paddy was an engineer with Kerry County Council. The community is saddened and shocked by his passing. May he rest in peace.' And Killarney Independent Ireland councillor John O'Donohue said: 'It is terrible news. Paddy was held in very high regard by the local community.' Fianna Fail Killarney councillor Niall Kelleher said: 'I knew Paddy. He was very caring. He was a very nice man. It is very shocking new for the entire community.' His death notice on says funeral details for the father of seven will be confirmed later. It says: 'Beloved husband of Brenda and loving father of Florence, Áine, Denise, Brenda, Báirbre, Patrick and Alice. Sadly missed by his loving family, adored grandchildren Niamh, Dáire, Edward, John, David, Lily Bea, Sadhbh, Sebastian, Abigail, Victoria, Anna, Amelia, Thomas, Hugh, Leonie, Patrick and Oscar, brother John, sisters Margaret , Kathleen and Anna, daughters-in-law Noelle and Katie, sons-in-law Martin, Charlie, Paul, Marc and Jonathan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. 'Paddy is pre-deceased by his parents Florence and Anna, his brother Michael and sister Lily. Funeral arrangement later.' The incident happened on the R569 road, Church Grounds in Kilgarvan, Gardaí said. Mr O'Donoghue was declared dead at the scene. Gardai say the Coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place. The road was sealed off overnight, but was reopened on Wednesday morning. Gardaí say investigations are ongoing and they have appealed for witnesses to come forward. It said in a statement: ' Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. "Anyone with any information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station." Meanwhile, Gardaí in south west Dublin are investigating the death of a cyclist early on Wednesday. The 19-year-old died after he was struck by a van in Lucan at 7.30am. He is believed to be from the area. Gardaí said in a statement the young man died from his injuries in hospital. It said: 'Shortly after 7:30am, Gardaí were alerted after a cyclist was struck by a van at the junction of Griffeen Avenue, R136 and Balgaddy Road. 'The cyclist, a 19-year-old male, received treatment at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. No other injuries were reported. 'Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene and local traffic diversions are in place. The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.' Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward. The force said: 'Road users who may have relevant camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. Two people arrested over St Stephen's Day hit-and-run in which couple died
TWO people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident on St Stephen's Day in which a married couple lost their lives. Georgina Hogg Moore, 38, and her husband Anthony Hogg, 39, were struck by a vehicle near the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin at around 5.45pm on December 26. Mrs Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband passed away later in hospital. The couple, who were described as 'incredible individuals', had two children. Gardaí revealed today that two people had been detained as part of the investigation into the incident. "Gardaí continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run road traffic collision involving a car and pedestrians that occurred at Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, on Thursday evening, December 26, 2024," said a spokesperson. "Gardaí have arrested two persons this morning in relation to this fatal road traffic collision. "A man, aged 40 years was arrested in connection with this investigation and he is currently detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a Garda station in the Dublin.
