Galaxy S24 FE
Galaxy S24 FE
Find flagship Galaxy phones too expensive and budget ones not quite good enough? The Galaxy S24 FE might just be the phone you need. This bad boy is a bit pricier than your average mid-ranger, but thanks to Samsung's latest trade-in offer, you can now grab it at a seriously low price. Both the 128GB and 256GB variants sell for $100 off right now. But here's the kicker — the official store offers an extra discount of up to $428, knocking the base storage variant down to $121.99. The 256GB model, on the other hand, can be yours for as low as $181.99. Granted, you need to have the right device in good working condition to get the maximum trade-in promo, but it's still a pretty cool savings opportunity. We've tested this Android phone extensively — check out our Galaxy S24 FE review for reference — and it left a great impression. With its upgraded design and a larger 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, it feels like a proper flagship. And the thin bezels make things even better.Under the hood, the device packs an Exynos 2400e chip, making it way more powerful than the previous Galaxy S23 FE . Not only that, but it leaves the Pixel 8a in the dust when it comes to performance. However, the OnePlus 13R remains a mid-range champion on that front, so you might want to consider it as an alternative.Thealso delivers a superb camera performance. It takes excellent photos with its 50MP main sensor that stand out with lifelike colors, excellent dynamic range, and ample detail. In fact, it's easily among the best mid-range camera phones Ultimately, thedeserves a place among the best mid-range options on the market. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than you might think, but the Samsung Store's latest bargain makes it an unmissable choice.

iPhone 17 unlikely to be part of Apple's rebrand this year

*Image credit — Majin Bu Apple is apparently going to announce a rebranding of its operating systems at this year's WWDC ( Worldwide Developers Conference ) event in June. However, industry insider Mark Gurman shares in his newsletter Power On that the company is highly unlikely to rename the iPhone 17 as operating systems — including iOS, macOS, iPadOS, and visionOS — will be numbered after current years from now on. To be precise, the operating systems will carry the number of the coming year, similar to how car manufacturers Gurman notes, is probably to give Apple more wiggle room for small software updates every now and then. Also, from a purely marketing perspective, this will make the company's software sound more the iPhone 17 , which will be coming out later this year, is unlikely to be renamed to the iPhone 26. Samsung has done that already with its Galaxy phones when it jumped straight to the Galaxy S20 series for 2020. Gurman believes that consumers are a lot more conscious of the iPhone naming convention, and that this change would be too jarring. Secondly, Apple wouldn't want its phone names to be tied to years because then an older iPhone would feel even more outdated. It's a game of the subconscious and there might be some truth to it, in my opinion. To be fair, Apple did skip the iPhone 9 for the iPhone X. | Image credit — PhoneArena Apple's renaming of its operating systems is part of a much larger rebranding effort at play. The company is redesigning all of its operating systems for an even more consistent experience across its multiple platforms that make up the Apple ecosystem. If reports are to be believed, then the new operating systems will be inspired by visionOS for the Apple Vision also believes that the renaming will help Apple divert focus at WWDC 2025. By making it seem like the software is undergoing major improvements, the attendees may not dwell on how far behind Apple is lagging in AI. Both Samsung and Google — Apple's largest smartphone competitors in the U.S. — offer a much more robust AI experience on their devices. New name or not, the iPhone 17 series will also see design changes and feature 12 GB of RAM as standard, except perhaps for the base model.

Deals: the Galaxy S25 series comes with a free tablet, Google Pixels heavily discounted

Amazon UK is offering a free Galaxy Tab A9+ with its whole flagship line – but that's just the cherry on top. There are discounts across the board and you also get £100 Samsung Credit with each phone. This offer ends on June 26 – more details on how to claim the tablet here. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra deal is pretty wild – the phone is £150 off, then you get an additional £150 off at checkout. This drops the price of the 256GB model to below £1,000. Don't forget about the free tablet and Samsung Credit either. But the price is interesting because £1,000 is how much you would spend on an S25+ right now (despite discounts) and is £100 less than the S25 Edge price (not necessarily, read below). Speaking of, here is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. With pre-orders done, you actually have to pay extra for the upgrade to 512GB. However, a discount, some credit and a free tablet help soften the blow. Even more so if you are a Prime or Prime Student subscriber. The Galaxy S25+ is just not worth it at the moment – the 512GB variant has a minor discount, the 256GB has none, so they are just £21 apart. But you'd be better off getting the S25 Ultra – the 256GB variant is cheaper! The vanilla Galaxy S25 has a discount on all storage capacities, dropping it to £700 for the base 128GB. Keep that price in mind as we head over to the Pixel side of the store. The Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are £300 off. With that, the smaller Pro costs the same as the vanilla S25 – despite having 4GB more RAM and proper 48MP sensors in the periscope (5x vs. 10MP 3x on the Galaxy) and ultra-wide cameras. Here's a detailed comparison between the 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL. As for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, the 256GB variant is £50 less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. You don't get a free tablet, but you do get a £50 coupon for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. This coupon is available for all current Pixels except the a-models. Here's the Pixel 9 Pro XL vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra head-to-head article. If you want a smaller phone but don't want to spend Pro money, the Pixel 9 is £100 less than the 9 Pro. You can check out our Pixel 9 vs. 9 Pro article, but the better cameras and extra perks are a great upgrade for the price. For an actually cheap Google phone there are the Pixel 9a and 8a. The latter is a 2024 model, which means it uses the less-than-perfect Tensor G3, but it is around £100 cheaper than the 9a. Google Pixel 8a £177 off Read our review 8/128GB - £324 at Amazon UK Unlike the 8a and 9a, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold does come with a £50 coupon for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. However, even with a hefty £450 discount it is still quite pricey. Not as pricey as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, though, itself with a decent discount – and £100 Samsung Credit and a free Galaxy Tab A9+. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 is also part of the offer with a nice discount of its own, Samsung Credit and the free tablet. Of course, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are a couple of months away from launch and they will have early bird deals – though their prices probably won't go this low for quite a while. We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
