HUDDERSFIELD TOWN have announced Paul McShane is joining as an assistant coach.
The Irish centre-back, 39, has spent he past three years as a youth coach at Manchester United.

McShane began his near two-decade playing career with the Red Devils before spells with Hull, West Brom and Reading.
And he teams up with former United goalkeeper Lee Grant at the John Smith's Stadium.
The Terriers appointed Grant - a former assistant at Ipswich - last month after a lengthy managerial search.
Huddersfield sacked Michael Duff in March with the club seventh in League One.

Club legend Jon Worthington was put in charge for the remainder of the campaign.
But Town lost 10 of their last 12 league games, eventually finishing 14 points outside the playoffs.
McShane has now joined Grant's backroom staff in West Yorkshire.
The 39-year-old teams up with Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, a former youth coach at Liverpool.

Jonathan Robinson, Steven Gerrard's No. 2 at Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, also joins the League One setup.
Grant has already been backed by wealthy American owner Kevin Nagle in the transfer market.

Huddersfield have so far brought in highly-rated Joe Low from Wycombe, along with Sean Roughan, Marcus Harness and Ryan Ledson.
Grant told the club website: "I am thrilled to welcome Marc, Paul, and Jonathan to Huddersfield Town – three exceptional professionals who join us as Assistant Coaches.
"Their diverse backgrounds, dedication, and commitment to excellence will be invaluable to us as we continue to grow and build something special at this club.

Huddersfield have suffered an alarming slide after dropping out of the Premier League in 2018.
Carlos Corberan almost led the club back to the Prem in 2022 through the playoffs.
But the club fought relegation from the Championship for multiple seasons before dropping to League One in 2024.
They had been expected to mount a strong push for promotion last term.
Duff led his side on an impressive 16-game unbeaten run midway through the campaign.
But the Terriers lacked bite where it mattered, with their 58 goals the lowest of any team in the top half.

But he'll want to improve on that and get more goals next season. I don't think 20's a bad return, if I'm being brutally honest. 'He'll also want to add to his international goals too. Tottenham to name Thomas Frank as head coach after agreeing deal with Brentford
Tottenham Hotspur have finally struck an agreement with Brentford to make Thomas Frank the clubs next head coach, it is understood. Spurs quickly set their sights on Frank after Postecoglou was sacked last week – only 16 days after he secured Europa League success – and made an official approach to Brentford on Monday. Discussions between Tottenham and Brentford initially centred on Frank's current terms at the west London club, which were set to run until the summer of 2027 and contained a release clause reportedly in the region of £10million. Further talks were required over which backroom staff Frank would take to Spurs but, after days of negotiations, a deal was struck with Brentford on Thursday, it is understood. Highly-rated Brentford first-team coach Justin Cochrane is set to follow Frank to Tottenham and in the process return to the club where he started his coaching journey. London-born Cochrane has been part of Frank's backroom staff since 2022, after he initially developed as a coach in Spurs' youth-team before a spell at Manchester United. Cochrane, 43, has earned a reputation as one of the brightest coaches in England and earlier this year joined Thomas Tuchel's coaching staff for the national team alongside his role at Brentford under Frank. Frank would take over a Spurs side which won a trophy for the first time since 2008 with victory in the Europa League final last month but finished 17th in the Premier League. The ex-Brondby boss has transformed Brentford during his seven-year spell in charge, with promotion from the Championship in 2021 followed by him establishing the club as a Premier League regular despite a modest budget. Christian Eriksen, who played under Frank at Brentford and starred during a seven-year spell at Spurs, backed his compatriot to be a success at his former club. 'I think he is the right coach for Tottenham,' Eriksen told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. 'I have had Thomas at various times and I think he is the perfect match for Tottenham, and it would be great if Thomas takes on that challenge. 'His personality, his way of playing and his way of being. And the club considering where they were last season – they won a trophy of course – but they are in the process of building something up, and I am sure that Thomas is a good man to bring in.'

'Only time will tell, but I think a fast pace would help him and bring him along further (in the St James's Palace) and hopefully he's then good enough to pick them off.' Earlier on the card George Boughey's 8-11 favourite Moonfall opened his account at the third attempt when a two-length winner of the first division of the Local IQ EBF Novice Stakes, while Charlie Appleby's heavy odds-on favourite Time To Turn was turned over in the second division by Clive Cox's 28-1 outsider A Bit Of Spirit.
