Puppy-Killer Noem Trolled Over Latest ICE ‘Publicity Stunt'
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Wednesday made it clear that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is not welcome in his state.
The comments, in which he mocked Noem's admitted dog-killing ways, came after she slammed the state's sanctuary status in a press conference.
The enactment of Illinois' TRUST Act, the Way Forward Act, the Welcoming City Act, and a Cook County ordinance, limits how local authorities can aid U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) agents in federal immigration enforcement actions. Noem claimed that 'people are dying every day' because of such policies.
'People are evading justice,' Noem said during the conference, which was held near a street corner in downtown Springfield, reported the Chicago Tribune. Noem further alleged that Pritzker was 'violating the Constitution' by not cooperating with the federal government.
'Governors like JB Pritzker don't care if gangbangers, murderers, rapists and pedophiles roam free in his state,' she said.

However, Pritzker wasted no time throwing such allegations back in her face. Ahead of her visit, Pritzker mocked Noem's dog-killing ways in a statement urging 'all pet owners in the region to make sure all of your beloved animals are under watchful protection.'
The statement added, 'Despite the Trump Administration being in office for more than 100 days and falsely accusing Illinois of not following federal and state law, Secretary Noem and her team does not communicate with the State of Illinois and has not asked for support or coordination to enforce immigration laws,'
Pritzker followed the press conference with another statement skewering Noem's actions as attention-seeking, The Hill reported.
'Trump-Noem publicity stunts do not make our communities safer or our immigration system smarter. Illinois doesn't need to abuse power or ignore the Constitution to keep our people safe,' said Pritzker. 'Like the millions of Americans asking for sensible, humane immigration reform, I encourage the Secretary to spend less time performing for Fox News and more time protecting the Homeland.'
Noem's press conference came as her 'real ID' deadline went into effect, requiring travelers to have a state-issued driver's license or ID card meeting security requirements. But many travelers reported that the enforcement appeared to be mostly superficial.
In Illinois, Pritzker also reminded Noem that she was visiting the state during Latino Unity Day.
'Secretary Noem must have not realized she was visiting during Latino Unity Day where we come together celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of our community,' Pritzker said. 'Today, Secretary Noem was met by a force stronger than her: the people of Illinois.'

Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller has described protests in Los Angeles against federal immigration raids in the city as an 'insurrection' against the United States. In response to a post on X showing footage of the mass demonstrations, Miller wrote "An insurrection against the laws and sovereignty of the United States.' It comes after tense confrontations between police and demonstrators took place in LA on Friday, in response to operations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, who arrested at least 44 people on immigration violations, before starting again on Saturday at a Home Depot in the Paramount section of the city. 'While the LAPD will continue to have a visible presence in all our communities to ensure public safety, we will not assist or participate in any sort of mass deportations nor will the LAPD try to determine an individual's immigration status,' McDonnell wrote in a statement. However, Homeland Security Investigations, a branch of ICE, said that 44 people had been administratively arrested on Friday and another was arrested for obstruction. In another tweet, Miller wrote: 'Siding with invaders over citizens. If we don't fix this, we don't have a country.' Federal agents executed search warrants at three locations, including a warehouse in the fashion district of L.A., after a judge found there was probable cause the employer was using fictitious documents for some of its workers, according to representatives for Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Attorney's Office. Advocates for immigrant rights say people were detained Friday by immigration authorities outside Home Depot stores and a doughnut shop. The Los Angeles Times reported that multiple chants of 'Fuera ICE' (ICE, get out) could be heard and flash-bang grenades were set off, though it was unclear who had set them off. One protester lit an entire bag of trash on fire and left in the street just half a block away from the immigration agents on Saturday in Paramount, which is about 82 percent Latino. Shopping carts from Home Depot and recycling bins were scattered across the boulevard by Saturday afternoon. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the activity by ICE was meant to 'sow terror' in the nation's second-largest city. She was later accused of siding with 'chaos and lawlessness over law enforcement' by ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons. 'Make no mistake, ICE will continue to enforce our nation's immigration laws and arrest criminal illegal aliens,' Lyons said in a statement. Despite no arrests being made by the LAPD, FBI deputy director Dan Bongino posted on X that they were reviewing evidence from the protests to ensure that 'perpetrators are brought to justice.' "The Right to assemble and protest does not include a license to attack law enforcement officers, or to impede and obstruct our lawful immigration operations,' Bongino said.

Clashes continued for a second day in Los Angeles as the Department of Homeland Security accused Democratic leaders in California including Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass of contributing to violence. 'The violent targeting of law enforcement in Los Angeles by lawless rioters is despicable and Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom must call for it to end,' DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement Saturday.

ICE Barbie Vows to ‘Press Charges' Over Clashes With L.A. Protesters
Kristi Noem says the Department of Homeland Security will ensure protesters face the consequences for taking part in clashes with ICE officers on Friday afternoon. 'I believe that we will press charges against everybody who has broken the law last night,' the Homeland Security secretary told Fox News Saturday. Her comments come after police arrested dozens of participants in violent protests outside a federal building in downtown Los Angeles, where a number of immigrants were being detained following raids by ICE officials across the city earlier in the day. Forty-four people were arrested during Friday's protest against ICE raids, said Yasmeen Pitts O'Keefe, a spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations 'We'll continue to do our ICE operations, we'll continue to make sure everybody in this country has the law equally applied to them,' Noem further told Fox, adding: 'Freedom works when everybody has justice applied equally to them.' Since President Donald Trump took office for the second time earlier in January, his administration has come under near-constant fire for violating immigrants' constitutionally-mandated right to due process amid the president's ongoing, nationwide deportation drive. This has perhaps most notoriously played out in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland dad of one who was deported to his native El Salvador in March for his supposed ties to violent criminal groups–allegations the White House has since wholly failed to substantiate. The Trump administration has this week facilitated Abrego Garcia's return to the United States so that he can face federal criminal charges for allegedly conspiring to transport people around the country illegally. 'The guy spends his life trafficking people and children and selling them into slavery,' Noem said of the Maryland dad on Saturday. 'He's back, he's getting prosecuted, then he'll be returning back to El Salvador.' The homeland security secretary further took aim at the Democratic Party for having turned Abrego Garcia–who has never been convicted of a crime, and who has previously testified in court about his efforts to resist gang recruitment in his home country–into a 'hero.' She also lambasted Democrat officials for their ongoing criticism of ICE's involvement in Trump's nationwide deportation drive, using their opposition to the violation of immigrant's rights to further praise the president's policies. 'What do we do when we have guys like Hakeem Jeffries standing up in front of the world and saying it's ok to write 'Kill ICE', it's ok to throw things at law enforcement officers? It's not ok, not in America,' she said. 'This has been going on now by Democrat leaders for years and that's why Donald Trump is in the White House. He's the only guy, the only guy who fights for every single American,' she added. 'That's why I'm so proud to work for him, I can't believe it. I can't believe that these dummies in the Democrat party are still around, and still getting elected.'
