Two innocent teens wounded in broad daylight NYC shooting, third bystander narrowly missed
Two innocent teenagers were shot and a third bystander was narrowly missed when a gunman opened fire on a Bronx street in broad daylight Thursday, according to police and law enforcement sources.
The pair of 17-year-old boys was in front of a five-story walk-up at 265 E. 176th St. in the Tremont section of the borough when the shots rang out around 1:20 p.m., police said.
One of the teens was shot in the right arm, the other in the neck, police and sources said.
Neither boy appeared to be the intended target of the shooter, but were struck in the crossfire, based on preliminary details, sources said.
A bullet also went crashing through a Toyota Highlander that Christian Santos, 44, had parked just moments before.
Santos got out of the car to go to work when the bullets began flying. One went blasting through the rear of the car and into the driver's seat, striking the area where his head was moments before, he told The Post.
Paramedics rushed the two teens to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition early Friday, according to the FDNY.
The gunman, a male dressed in all black, fled the scene on foot, sources said.
There have been no arrests and the shooting remains under investigation.
So far this year there have been 15 shooting victims and 12 shooting incidents in the 46th precinct where Thursday's shooting occurred, according to the most recent NYPD statistics. Those numbers are a slight increase from the same time last year.
Overall, the shooting numbers are down nearly 24% across the Bronx, but the borough was shocked when another teenage innocent bystander, Evette Jeffrey, 16, was shot in the head and killed in May.

Michael Wilson, 37 – who sources say committed 90 percent of his crimes in the subway system – was nabbed for the 25th time this year on Tuesday for allegedly riding between cars on a train passing through the 42nd Street-Times Square station, according to the sources. Obtained by NY Post Wilson was also busted on May 25 for allegedly lying across multiple seats on a train car in Brooklyn, police said. And on May 6, Wilson was charged with allegedly smoking crack on a moving train in Harlem, police said. He was released on each of the cases – which is nothing new for the serial offender, who earlier this year drew the ire of NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper. The career criminal – whose first arrest was back in 2004 – was arrested 232 times over the years, but dozens of those cases have been sealed, bringing the unsealed total to 170, according to the sources. A whopping 135 of his arrests have been on felony charges, but he's only been convicted of felonies four times, with one of them a violent felony, according to the sources. His parole was also revoked several times, the sources said. He has also racked up 53 misdemeanor convictions, the sources said. Wilson had also been issued more than 30 bench warrants to failure to appear in court, according to the sources.

Three teens have been arrested for trashing and setting fire to the beloved historic Sleepy Hollow lighthouse in a 'heartbreaking' attack just a year after its multimillion-dollar renovation, according to officials. Baby-faced firebugs Elvin Ayavaca, 18, of White Plains and Richard Barrero, 19, of Harrison, along with an unidentified 17-year-old, caused at least $100,000 in damage to the charming 142-year-old landmark, the Westchester County Police said in a press release Friday. The trio was charged with arson, burglary and criminal mischief after getting caught on camera strolling over a bridge leading to the lighthouse Saturday, according to police.
