Fiji winger Raisuqe dies after road accident in France

Fiji international Josaia Raisuqe has died after a road accident in France where he played for Top 14 side Castres, the club said on Thursday.
"Castres Olympique is in mourning," they said in a statement.
"It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the death this morning in a road accident of our player Josaia Raisuqe... he was a wonderful teammate who was much appreciated by everyone."
Winger Raisuqe, 30, was part of the Fiji sevens team who won the silver medal at last year's Paris Olympics. He joined Castres in 2021.
"He was a radiant young man both on and off the pitch who was a pillar of the Fijian community that we have at the club and to which we are very attached," Castres President Pierre-Yves Revol said.
Saturday's Top 14 match between Castres and Clermont Auvergne has been postponed, France's National Rugby League said in a statement. REUTERS

The red card rules him out of Santos's match against Fortaleza on Thursday, meaning he will only be able to play for the club again if he extends his contract before the league's resumption in July following the Club World Cup. A dominant performance in front of an ecstatic home crowd saw Cruz Azul join Mexican rivals America as the most successful clubs in the 60-year history of the competition and also secured them a spot in the 2029 Club World Cup. Vicente Sanchez was only appointed Cruz Azul's coach in January and while there have been reports suggesting he may leave the club he said his only focus was on repaying the faith shown in him. "Giving back to the people who trusted in me is the best thing that can happen, today we are giving an international title to Cruz Azul," the Uruguayan told reporters. "The truth is that I live in today, I'm happy, I don't think about the future." The hosts struck early, taking the lead in the eighth minute as Carlos Rotondi slid in to square the ball for captain Ignacio Rivero, who calmly finished in a one-on-one.
