: The linking of
land records
to Aadhar numbers in
Patna district
is progressing slowly, despite the approaching May 31 deadline. This initiative will make it easier for anyone to prove his or her
land ownership
and help in preventing land-related frauds.
According to sources in the
revenue and land reforms dept
, only 17.45 lakh people have so far applied for Aadhaar seedings and around 13 lakh applications have already been processed in the district.

with more than 75,000 applications processed, closely followed by 74,000 in Masaurhi, 67,000 in Punpun, 59,000 in Bankipur and 57,000 in Dhanarua block.

This inconsistency created technical difficulties while mapping student data for the Apaar ID system. The circular, issued by the state project director of Samagra Shiksha, instructs all govt primary and secondary schools to adopt the new format when entering names in GRs and issuing LCs. In the updated format, students' names will be recorded as: first name, father's name and surname. This move is expected to streamline the process of Apaar ID creation, ensure uniformity across key documents and prevent administrative complications during school transfers or govt data verification. The education department has urged schools to implement change from the upcoming academic session to maintain consistency with national identity documentation standards.
