According to the head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the medic Asaad al-Nsasrah has not spoken with the media since Israeli soldiers killed 15 emergency responders in southern Gaza on March 23.
Words in Hebrew could be heard in the final moments of a video of the killings that was subsequently found and made public.
"The soldiers were so close to have a dialogue with somebody. And that somebody was Asaad,' said Younis al-Khatib, the Red Crescent chief. 'What Asaad said in Hebrew: 'Don't shoot. I am Israeli.' And soldiers got a bit confused.'
The Israeli military declined to comment.
'You know why he said that? His mother is Israeli. Asaad's mother is Israeli — Palestinian Arab Israeli from Bir Saba,' al-Khatib said.
Al-Khatib spoke on Thursday to reporters in Geneva at the headquarters of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Israeli troops bulldozed over the bodies along with their mangled vehicles, burying them in a mass grave, according to the U.N. The surviving medic was detained by Israel for over a month and released back to Gaza.

1 dead and 1 hurt in Israeli drone strikes in Beit Leef and Arnoun

by Naharnet Newsdesk 01 June 2025, 11:51 One person was killed Sunday in an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in the southern town of Arnoun, Al-Jadeed TV said. Earlier in the day an Israeli drone bombed a car in the Bint Jbeil district town of Beit Leef, wounding one person, the Health Ministry said. The attacks come a day after a similar strike in Deir al-Zahrani killed a man described by the Israeli army as a Hezbollah rocket array commander. Israel has continued to bomb Lebanon despite the November 27 truce that sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah, including two months of open war. Under the terms of the ceasefire, Hezbollah fighters were to pull back north of the Litani River, some 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the border, and dismantle military infrastructure to its south. Israel was to withdraw all forces from Lebanon but it has kept troops in five areas it deems "strategic". The Lebanese Army has deployed in the South and has been dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure.

Israeli Enemy Commits Massacre in Rafah

At least 30 Palestinians were killed and over 115 others wounded Sunday morning in a new massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces near an aid distribution center west of Rafah in southern Gaza. According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces opened fire directly at hundreds of civilians as they attempted to reach an aid distribution center in the Al-Mawasi area of western Rafah. The indiscriminate shooting resulted in a high number of casualties, with victims falling while seeking food and humanitarian assistance. This incident follows a disturbing pattern in recent days, during which Israeli forces have killed 17 Palestinians and wounded dozens more as they tried to access aid distribution areas. Meanwhile, the Zionist occupation forces continued bombarding the neighborhoods in Khan Younis in addition to areas in northern Gaza. These attacks come amid a systematic starvation policy imposed by Israel, which has kept Gaza's crossings sealed for over 90 days—blocking the entry of vital humanitarian supplies, particularly food—driving much of the population to the brink of famine. The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 54,381 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 124,381 others injured. Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks. Israeli genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
