The film will be released on an OTT platform on July 4. Well, the other details have not been shared till now.
Take a look here:
Directed by Madhumita, 'Kaalidhar Laapata' stars Abhishek as Kaalidhar–a middle-aged man grappling with memory loss, abandonment and a lifetime of quiet betrayals. When he overhears his siblings' cruel plan to abandon him at the crowded Maha Kumbh Mela, Kaalidhar decides to disappear on his own terms. Fate intervenes in the form of Ballu (Daivik Bhagela), an outspoken, street-smart 8-year-old who's been surviving solo on India's chaotic streets. What begins as a chance meeting becomes the beginning of something far more profound.

Sharing his experience working in the film, Abhishek in a press note said, 'As actors, we often hope for stories that move us before they move anyone else–and Kaalidhar Laapata did exactly that. Playing Kaalidhar was not just a role; it was a revelation. He's fragile, childlike and deeply human–and through him, I got to explore parts of myself I hadn't visited in a while. His bond with Ballu–this fierce, fearless child–reminded me that the most unexpected friendships can sometimes teach us the most profound lessons."
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan is currently enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Housefull 5. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and has one of Bollywood's largest ensemble casts in recent years. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan play the lead roles, with Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet and Johny Lever serving as supporting characters. The female cast includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma, with Chunky Panday and Dino Morea also playing prominent roles.

Actor Vijay turns 51: a collection of stories on ‘Thalapathy' of Tamil cinema

Tamil superstar and president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Vijay, is celebrating his 51st birthday on Sunday (June 22, 2025). Affectionately called 'Thalapathy' by his fans, Vijay is widely considered one of the most successful actors in Tamil cinema. The star, who has acted in 68 films, has enthralled millions of Tamil cinema fans in a career spanning almost four decades. After a few roles as a child actor in films directed by his father, SA Chandrasekhar, Vijay made his debut as a lead at the age of 18 in 1992's Naalaiya Theerpu. The actor starred in several notable films in the late '90s, like Coimbatore Mappillai, Poove Unakkaga, Love Today, Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, Priyamudan, and Thullatha Manamum Thullum, to become a much-sought-after Tamil actor over the turn of the century. Vijay continued acting in romance dramas in the early 2000s, like Kannukkul Nilavu, Kushi, Priyamaanavale and Shahjahan, before gradually transforming into an action hero much like his fellow contemporaries. It was, after all, the age of the angry young man in Tamil cinema. With action films like Thirumalai, Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Sivakasi, and Pokkiri becoming blockbusters, the sign was clear: a superstar was in the making. Despite facing a few setbacks and flops in the late 2000s, Vijay made a roaring comeback with Nanban and Thuppakki in the early 2010s and went on to become a superstar of Tamil cinema, known for having fans across all age groups. Currently, Vijay is at a crucial stage of his career, having announced his retirement from films — his upcoming film with H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan, will be his last — and having plunged into politics with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which is gearing up full-throttle for the 2026 Assembly elections. On his 51st birthday today, here's a collection of stories on Vijay

Canadian rapper with Tamil roots, Tommy Genesis, sparks outrage by dressing as Maa Kali in new music video: Who is she?

Genesis Yasmine Mohanraj, Canadian rapper and model popular as Tommy Genesis, has taken the Internet by storm with her latest music video. In the video of her new track True Blue, Genesis dressed as Maa Kali, a Hindu Goddess, sparking controversy over cultural and religious insensitivity. True Blue features Genesis in modern depiction of Goddess Kaali, the embodiment of destruction according to Hindu mythology. In the video, the rapper is seen with her body painted blue, adorned with a red bindi, and wearing traditional gold jewellery, including bangles, a maang tikka, and a necklace. She donned a gold bikini paired with golden stilettos. The video also shows her engaging in gestures and symbols that have drawn outrage from social media users, like folding her hands in a 'namaste' and licking a crucifix. Watch here: A post shared by Tommy Genesis (@tommygenesis) Born as Yasmine Mohanraj, 34, the rapper has both Tamil and Swedish roots. She first shot to fame as 'the Internet's most rebellious' underground rapper. She has been acknowledged by artistes like Dazes, Charli XCX and brands like Calvin Klein. She is known for exploring themes of rebellion, sexuality, and identity. She began her music career in 2015 after signing with Awful Records, where she released her debut mixtape World Vision. In 2017, she transitioned to a broader platform by signing with Downtown Records/Universal. Her self-titled debut album, Tommy Genesis, was released in November 2018, followed by her sophomore album Goldilocks X in September 2021, Mint reported. Genesis is also an accomplished visual artist. She studied film and sculpture at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. Her distinctive style caught the attention of major fashion brands, winning her a feature in Calvin Klein's Fall 2016 campaign alongside other musicians. In 2017, she also collaborated with rapper MIA during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, merging her music and fashion identities on a global stage. Several social media users slammed Genesis for 'disrespecting' and 'insulting' religious sentiments. 'Just listened to Tommy Genesis whose real name is Genesis Yasmine Mohanraj. She is a Canadian artist with an Indian background from Kerala and Tamil side. Her new song openly mocks both Hindu and Christian faiths. This is not creativity this is pure disrespect. Surprised @YouTube still has it up,' a user wrote. Just listened to Tommy Genesis whose real name is Genesis Yasmine Mohanraj.
