Urgent search launched for missing man Christopher Bennett
Christopher Bennett was last spotted on Kilwinning Road in Irvine around 1.30pm on Saturday, June 7.
The 40-year-old is described as white Scottish, approximately 5ft 8in tall, with shaven black hair.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black hoodie featuring a 'CK' logo on the front, blue jeans, and white trainers.

He may also be carrying black sunglasses and a mobile phone, and is known to be a smoker.
Search teams have highlighted Mr Bennett's familiarity with the Three Towns area, as well as Dumfries and Galloway. He is also known to frequent Troon Beach.
Police have confirmed that extensive enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call officers at the Irvine Police office on the police non-emergency number, 101.

Scottish Tory councillor James Adams, who represents Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse, will appear alongside them. It is understood the charges relate to their capacity as trustees of the Kilmarnock Leisure Centre Trust, and not as councillors. All five councillors will appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday June 12 on a pleading diet. In a statement provided to The Herald, East Ayrshire Council said: 'East Ayrshire Council can confirm that Claire Leitch, Iain Linton, Clare Maitland and Barry Douglas are four of the six trustees of the Kilmarnock Leisure Centre Trust, which provided leisure facilities at the Galleon Leisure Centre in Kilmarnock." The council later confirmed Mr Adams, who is also a trustee, will also appear. The spokeswoman added: 'The case is due to call in court as a pleading diet later this week in relation to a health and safety matter, which involves them in their capacity as trustees rather than as councillors. 'As this is a live matter that has not yet called in court, the council would confirm that out of respect and deference to the court process, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.' Police Scotland and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service did not respond to request for comment.

The savage double murder of two of Scotland's most infamous gangsters is the latest development in a violent feud between the Lyons network and the rival Daniel mob that has spanned over two decades. On May 30, Ross Monaghan, 43, and his criminal associate Eddie Lyons Junior, 46, had just finished watching the Champions League final in a Costa del Sol pub when they were gunned down by a masked assailant. The pair have links to the infamous Scottish Lyons clan, which police linked to a series of assaults, firebombings and shootings across Edinburgh and Glasgow, alongside the rival Daniel gang. The escalating violence was reportedly attributed to attempts made at undermining the criminal reign of Mark Richardson, allegedly involved in cocaine distribution, and his crony, Steven "Bonzo" Daniel. Associates of the Lyons are said to have mobilised alongside cocaine merchant Ross "Miami" McGill following a heist by Richardson's crew, who reportedly nabbed drugs valued at £500,000 from them, Daily Mail reports. The conflict has since intensified, culminating in the recent hit job, subsequently leading to cautionary messages about possible retaliatory measures being disseminated online. Social media posts have called on people associated with the Daniels and Richardsons to "leave Scotland immediately", while others have attempted to call Scots to arms. But away from the bloody feud between the Lyons network and the rival Daniel mob, their wives and girlfriends lead a more glamorous life... Olivia Newall Olivia Newall is the moll of Ross 'Miami' McGill, the former Union Bears chief and now gang boss. The couple are thought to have been in Costa del Sol before moving to Dubai. McGill is said to be close with her cousin Lloyd Cross, having grown up near each other in Glasgow. Nicola Cassells Mum-of-three Nicola Cassells is the ex-girlfriend of John Bonner, a gangster who drove infamous Daniels enforcer Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll to an Asda car park where he was brutally killed in 2010. During the trial of 'Gerbil's' murder suspect Ross Monaghan in 2012, who was later cleared, Bonner gave evidence about his role in the death of his friend. The court heard that Bonner was one of 99 potential suspects identified in the murder, reports Birmingham Live. "The Kinahans are not interested in flogging vodka - their real business is cocaine and heroin. It is widely known that the cartel is in partnership with Scotland's Lyons gang, making vast profits from killing Scots." Kelly Bo Green Kelly Bo Green is the daughter of crime boss Jamie Daniel, who died in 2016 from cancer. She appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid community work as an alternative to prison. She is believed to be part of the same shoplifting gang that includes her aunt, Annette Daniel, who has 22 convictions for shoplifting and has spent time in jail for theft, reports the Daily Record. While her husband, who was dubbed the Scottish Tony Soprano, remains behind bars, Caroline leads a glamorous life and runs an ice cream parlour in Glasgow. She is often spotted on social media boasting designer clothes and isn't shy to flaunt her wealth. During her husband's trial, she reportedly shared an image of a banana with the caption, "bananas can put a smile on your face", alongside five laughing face emojis. Jane Park Jane Park made a name for herself after becoming the UK's youngest EuroMillions winner when she scooped £1million at the tender age of 17, back in 2013. She's since been involved in a gang love affair. Park previously dated Richardson crook David Togher, who is said to have had a romantic encounter with Nicola Cassells. However, Togher is claimed to have cheated on Park with Jodie Steele, his friend Marc Webley's girlfriend. After Togher was seen with Steele, Park is said to have started dating Richardson gangster Webley - for a complete gangster partner swap. They continued their relationship, but in 2023, Webley was shot dead outside an Edinburgh pub on New Year's Eve. Edinburgh police officer sues force after 'suspension for photo with influencer'

More info An Edinburgh authorised firearms officer is taking legal action against Police Scotland - claiming he was unfairly suspended after an "incident" was filmed and posted on TikTok. Steven Jones, 35, gave evidence at the Edinburgh Employment Tribunal on Monday, June 9 where he is suing on the grounds of sex discrimination. Mr Jones says his behaviour was branded as "misogynistic" and he suffered detriment due to a fear among Police Scotland management that the armed response unit is perceived as having a "boys' club mentality". The court heard details of the incident which took place on March 1, 2024. It concerns a video posted to TikTok by Scottish singer Tallia Storm. Footage shows Mr Jones and his partner exiting their marked police vehicle on Edinburgh's Cowgate to snap a photo with Ms Storm. Mr Jones can be seen taking the photograph while his partner poses with the media personality. The court heard that Mr Jones' superiors "chastised" him following the incident. Mr Jones claimed they described his conduct as "mysogynistic". The officer also said he was criticised following the public's "negative" response to the TikTok and for parking the police vehicle on a road with "heavy" pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Mr Jones believed he was punished due to "past instances of misogyny" in the firearms unit, which he felt constitutes sex discrimination. He claimed senior management at Police Scotland were wary the armed response unit is perceived as having a "lads' mentality". He said: "Because of the word "misogyny," it made me feel it was because I as a male interacting with a female that it was viewed through that lens. If a member of the other sex had that interaction, it wouldn't have happened." Employment solicitor Mr Merck, representing Mr Jones, made reference to a prominent case where female firearms officer Rhona Malone was paid nearly £1m after an employment tribunal found she had been victimised on the basis of sex by Police Scotland. Mr Jones believed Ms Malone's case informed the reason his behaviour was branded as "misogynistic". Mr Jones added: "It really surprised me. I was extremely upset and shocked because I knew I had to disclose to my partner what I had been accused of and explain to my family." On March 1, 2024 Mr Jones and his colleague were on "parliament duty", requiring them to patrol the streets surrounding Scottish Parliament including the Cowgate and Grassmarket. While driving on Cowgate, the pair encountered a large crowd of pedestrians. Mr Jones, who was driving, slowed the vehicle to assess whether the scene required intervention. He claimed he then noticed Ms Storm in the crowd. Mr Jones said: "I knew who she was due to the publicity and her being the capital DJ host at the time. She was on the side of trams and buses." He and his partner exited their vehicle - which housed firearms inside a locked compartment - for around one minute. Mr Jones added: "It could've been less than that." The officer claimed Ms Storm was "ecstatic" by the photo op and stated: "There was no rude behaviour or catcalling. I present myself courteously and was calm in the situation. We engaged in conversation to ascertain that a Q&A was being held. It looked like she was making her way over. We very quickly introduced ourselves, it was a polite interaction." The officer also said he and his partner continued to maintain security of their vehicle during the incident. Mr Jones claimed he later faced suspension, a sanction he felt was not commensurate to his actions. He said: "It is our job to engage with people. We don't police with fear, we police by good interactions with the public. The last thing I'd ever want is the public to fear the police and to fear me. I always speak to people as a human being. I meet them where they are. Mr Jones joined Police Scotland in March 2017. In June 2023, he completed authorised firearms officer training. The court heard of his ambition to become a national firearms instructor and how Mr Jones claimed he was repeatedly nudged to pursue a role in counterterrorism. However, since the incident the officer said he has been demoted to an office role dealing with "low-level daily calls" whereas he was formerly tasked with "very high risk incidents" with "very high levels of decision making" on the firearms unit. The five-day proceedings began on Monday, June 9 and are presided over by Employment Judge Amanda Jones. The tribunal continues.
