New IRB Sabah Director calls on Hajiji

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from the new Director of the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) Sabah, Datin Dayang Halimah Awang Ahmad, at his office in Menara Kinabalu on Thursday. Dayang Halimah, who hails from Tawau, has held the position since March 1, 2025.
Advertisement Prior to this, she served as the State Operations Director (Corporate Tax Audit) of IRB Sabah. Hajiji congratulated Dayang Halimah on her appointment and expressed confidence that the close ties between the State Government and IRB would be further strengthened to ensure more efficient and comprehensive revenue management. He said the Government remains committed to supporting efforts to enhance revenue collection in a fair and effective manner, in line with the State's development needs and the wellbeing of its people. Dayang Halimah said the visit was to introduce herself, as well as to discuss strategic collaboration between IRB and the State Government in areas such as tax compliance and revenue management. During the meeting, she also shared the direction and plans of IRB Sabah, including initiatives to expand service outreach and raise public awareness on taxation. On the same day, Hajiji also received a courtesy call from the Assistant Chief of the Army Reserve Force, Major General Dato' Mohammad Razeif Che Ahmad. He was accompanied by the Fifth Infantry Division Commander Major General Dato' Noorrul Azril Ariffin and the Army Planning and Development Director Colonel Burhan Sagoni. Ukraine drones attack on Moscow forces airport closure, Russia says
UKRAINIAN drone attack targeting Moscow forced the closure of two of the key airports serving the capital, Russian authorities said early on Sunday. Russia air defence units destroyed nine Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow by 0400 GMT, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on the Telegram messaging app. Emergency services were dispatched to the sites where drone debris fell in the overnight attack, Sobyanin said. He did not report any immediate damage. Russia's civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia said on Telegram that to ensure air safety it was halting flights at the Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports. Russia and Ukraine have increased their attacks in recent weeks while also returning to peace talks for the first time since the early days of the war that Russia launched against Ukraine in February 2022.

No travel ban on Fahmi Reza, IGP confirms

He said Fahmi Reza's name was included in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) movement monitoring list for internal record and reference purposes due to ongoing investigations involving him. Advertisement 'However, it must be emphasised that this list does not imply any restrictions but is part of the standard monitoring procedures implemented by the authorities,' he said in a statement today. Razarudin said the confusion occurred during the exit clearance process yesterday, resulting in the erroneous issuance of a movement restriction order, adding that the matter is being reviewed with appropriate steps to be taken to refine existing procedures. 'PDRM remains committed to protecting and respecting the freedom of movement of every Malaysian, and the individual concerned is free to travel in and out of the country as usual, subject to any regulations set by the Immigration Department and other relevant laws,' he said.
