Gharibabadi: Compromising Iran's Nuclear Rights in Negotiations Is Unacceptable

Tehran - (Saba): Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and member of the Iranian negotiating delegation, Kazem Gharibabadi, stated on Thursday that compromising Iran's nuclear rights in negotiations is unacceptable. Mehr News Agency quoted Gharibabadi as saying, "Independence is the most important principle at the forefront of the foreign policy apparatus, and this principle is based on the principle of denying the path and non-domination by foreigners." He added, "We do not formulate our policies based on the interests of powers, but rather based on the interests and security of our country and people." The Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs noted that "in the negotiations, one issue that has always been important for the Iranian side is the full realization of the Iranian people's nuclear rights." He continued, "We have spent resources on progress in the nuclear field, and we have also paid human costs, such as the nuclear martyrs, along the way." Gharibabadi added, "The nuclear industry and enrichment are modern technologies and a real need for Iranian society. There are a number of Few countries in the world enrich uranium and have a complete nuclear fuel cycle, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of them. These rights are our concern in any negotiations, and these rights must not be violated." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Trump: Hard to make deal with Chinese president

Washington - Saba: US President Donald Trump said he respects Chinese President Xi Jinping, but stressed that negotiating with his Chinese counterpart is very difficult. In a post he wrote on the Truth Social platform on Wednesday, according to Sputnik, Trump said: "I liked Chinese President Xi Jinping, and I still like him, but he is very tough and very difficult to make deals with." Trump's statement comes at a time of escalating tensions between Washington and Beijing over economic, trade, and military issues. Last Monday, the White House indicated that Trump and his Chinese counterpart were likely to hold a phone call this week. However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed on Tuesday that it had no information about an imminent phone call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump. Last week, Trump accused China of violating the recently reached agreement to reduce tariffs. On May 12, 2025, the United States and China agreed to a trade truce. Washington reduced its tariffs on Chinese goods from 145 percent to 30 percent, while China reduced its tariffs on US goods from 125 percent to 10 percent. This truce will last for 90 days. In a joint statement, the two governments announced their commitment to take these steps by May 14, 2025, recognizing the importance of bilateral economic relations and their impact on the global economy, and seeking to establish a long-term, sustainable, and mutually beneficial relationship. The announcement came after marathon trade negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland, between officials from the world's two largest economies, during which both sides hailed "tangible progress." Moscow: Kyiv list in Istanbul discloses claimed kidnap of children

Moscow - Saba: Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that the list of 339 Ukrainian minors submitted by the Kyiv delegation in Istanbul came as a shock to those who had spent three years spreading cynical lies about "tens of thousands" of allegedly abducted children. Sputnik quoted Zakharova as saying on her Telegram channel: "Unfortunately, the UN Secretariat was one of the distributors of fake products. We remember well how they told stories about Bucha, about 'thousands of abducted Ukrainian children,' and accused Russian soldiers of committing sexual violence against Ukrainian women." She continued: "For three years, the Secretary-General (Antonio Guterres) has still not been able to obtain a list of Bucha's alleged victims, despite regular reminders from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov." She added: "With the accusations against Russian soldiers, Guterres' representatives made a mockery of the whole world: they turned out to be completely fabricated, based on outright lies and the sick fantasies of representatives of the Kyiv regime. The stories about tens of thousands of allegedly abducted children also turned out to be false, as the list of wanted Ukrainian minors handed over in Istanbul (which has yet to be examined) includes only 339 people. This came as a shock to everyone involved in spreading this satirical hoax for three years." In April 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that photos and videos published by Kyiv, allegedly showing crimes committed by the Russian military in Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, constituted yet another Ukrainian provocation. It noted that during Russia's control of the city, no local residents were subjected to any violence. The Ministry of Defense noted that all Russian units had completely withdrawn from Bucha on March 30, 2022, and that the city's northern exits were not blocked. Meanwhile, the southern outskirts, including residential areas, were subjected to 24-hour shelling by Ukrainian forces with large-caliber artillery, tanks, and multiple rocket launchers. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia categorically rejected any accusations of involvement in the deaths in Bucha and called on international leaders not to rush to level arbitrary accusations against Russia but to listen to Moscow's arguments.
