Sana'a holds extensive celebrations for day of al-Wilayah anniversary
Sana'a – Saba:
Numerous public events, gatherings, evenings, and festivals were held on Tuesday across several districts of Sana'a governorate to mark the anniversary of the Guardianship / al-Wilayah (Eid al-Ghadir), under the slogan "Whoever I am his Master, then this Ali is his Master."
In al-Haymah al-Dakhiliyah and al-Hesn Districts, various villages and sub-districts hosted speeches and seminars emphasizing the importance of the anniversary in instilling values of loyalty to Allah, His Messenger, and believers, and stressing the nation's need to reform its path away from dependence and inaction.
Speakers called for embodying the principle of sincere allegiance and emulating Imam Ali in confronting the "American-Zionist aggression" against Yemen and Gaza, and for continued mobilization.
In Jehana district, officials highlighted that current events necessitate activating the principle of allegiance and hostility to God's enemies, viewing the commemoration as a fortification against "infiltrations and false cultures."
Across numerous other districts including Bani Hashish, Bani Matar, Sanhan, Bani Bahloul, Hamdan, Manakhah, Sa'afan, al-Haymah al-Kharijiyah, Khawlan, and al-Tiyal, events focused on Imam Ali's virtues from a Quranic perspective.
Discussions covered lessons from his guardianship in confronting challenges and enemies, emphasizing the principle of loyalty and hostility.
Speakers noted that enemies have attempted to divert the nation from this principle to facilitate infiltration, asserting that the nation's salvation lies in a sincere return to God, His Messenger, and following Imam Ali's leadership.
The celebrations featured performances, chants, songs, and poems. All were invited to attend larger festivals planned for next Saturday in various squares across the governorate.

Yemen : Houthi Rebels Warn of "War" if Iran is Attacked
Yemen's Houthi rebel movement has issued a warning to the United States and Israel that an attack on Iran - an increasingly likely possibility - could result in a new round of conflict escalation in the region. The group it well-known for its campaign of attacks on shipping, which only subsided after a U.S. air campaign created conditions for a truce earlier this year. That truce may be in danger in the event of a conflict with Iran, the Houthis' primary military sponsor, the group hinted on Wednesday. "We are . . . at the highest level of preparedness for any possible American escalation against us," a Houthi source told Newsweek on Wednesday. "Any escalation against the Islamic Republic of Iran is also dangerous and will drag the entire region into the abyss of war. . . . It is certainly not in the interest of the American people to become involved in a new war in service of [Israel]." Relatedly, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) office of the Royal Navy issued a rare warning to shipping on Wednesday, cautioning operators that it has been made aware of a risk of "an escalation of military activity having a direct impact on mariners." Vessel masters are advised to proceed with caution in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz - areas where Iran has previously engaged in attacks on shipping during periods of heightened tension. The tensions center on Iran's nuclear program, which Israel views as an existential threat. Renewed U.S.-Iran talks on a new nuclear deal appear stalled, despite initial signs of progress, and President Donald Trump has expressed frustration with the pace of the negotiations. As in previous talks in 2015, Iran is refusing to give up the entirety of its domestic uranium enrichment infrastructure, which the Trump administration insists must be dismantled or relocated to a third country. But the backdrop has changed since the last round of negotiations ten years ago: Tehran now possesses enough high-enriched nuclear fuel that it could produce about 10 nuclear weapons in a "breakout" push, perhaps within a matter of months. As the negotiations falter, Israel is widely believed to be preparing for a potential strike on Iranian nuclear sites to pre-empt the manufacturing of an Iranian bomb - and Iran has laid out its plans for a response. Iran's Supreme National Security Council warned on Wednesday that it has "a vast quantity" of intelligence on Israel's nuclear weapons establishment, and is prepared to conduct a counterstrike with its missile forces. Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh has also threatened to strike U.S. military bases around the region if Iran comes under attack. In a sign that hostilities could be imminent, the U.S. government has ordered a heightened state of preparedness for Iranian attacks in the Mideast, to include the evacuation of the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and a voluntary departure authorization for servicemembers' families at bases in the region.

Yemen : UN urges for release of aid workers arbitrarily detained
As June marks one year since the arbitrary detention of dozens of personnel from the UN, NGOs, civil society organizations and diplomatic missions by the Houthi de facto authorities in Yemen, the Secretary-General has reiterated his call for their release, urging they be freed 'immediately and unconditionally.' In a statement on 2 June, António Guterres strongly condemned the death in detention of a World Food Programme (WFP) staff member earlier this year. The Houthis have yet to provide 'an explanation for this deplorable tragedy,' António Guterres said, renewing his call for 'an immediate, transparent and thorough investigation and accountability.' Profound injustice 'The UN and its humanitarian partners should never be targeted, arrested or detained while carrying out their mandates for the benefit of the people they serve,' said the UN chief. These detentions have further constrained the UN's ability to operate effectively in Yemen and have 'undermined mediation efforts to secure a path toward peace,' he added. Safe and immediate release Marking the occasion of Eid Al-Adha last Friday, 'a time to show compassion,' the Secretary-General urged the Houthis to 'immediately release those arbitrarily detained' and 'end the ordeal of families who face celebrating yet another holiday without their loved ones.' 'I renew my call for their immediate and unconditional release, including those held since 2021 and 2023, and most recently this January,' Mr. Guterres said. 'You are not forgotten,' he added, addressing the detained aid workers, assuring them that the UN will continue to work through all possible channels to secure their safe and immediate release. He also welcomed the support of international partners, NGOs and all those working to support the people of Yemen, urging Member States to express solidarity with those detained and 'intensify advocacy towards their release.'
