
Robbers steal gold, jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh in northwest Delhi
New Delhi, Jun 12 (PTI) Police have launched an investigation after a 42-year-old employee of a Chandni Chowk-based jeweller was attacked and robbed of gold and jewellery worth about Rs 40 lakh near Kohat Enclave Metro Station in northwest Delhi, officials said.
According to police, the incident took place when the victim, Subhash, and his colleague, Gopal, had gone to the area around 3 pm to show jewellery samples to clients.

Trader shot at, looted of Rs 4 lakh cash at weekly bazaar
Gumla: A trader, Ramkumar Sahu (36), was shot at and looted of Rs 4 lakh cash at the Kansir weekly bazaar under Raidih police station limits in Gumla district on Friday. Stenographer arrested for taking 24 lakh bribe
Ludhiana: A stenographer posted in the office of SDM Raikot in the district was Friday arrested for taking Rs 24,06,000 bribe. He has been identified as Jatinder Singh. A spokesperson for the state vigilance bureau said the arrest was made following a complaint from a resident of Sukhana village. "Acting on the complaint, the vigilance sleuths questioned the accused Jatinder Singh and a search conducted in his office led to the recovery of the cash from an almirah. The accused failed to provide details of how he got the cash and was subsequently arrested," the spokesperson said. He added that Jatinder has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The case has been registered at VB PS (Ludhiana range). Further investigation is under way.
