George Turner returns to Scotland squad for three-match South Pacific tour
Rory Darge, who co-captained Scotland along with Finn Russell in the last two Guinness Six Nations championships, is named captain.
There are three uncapped players named by head coach Gregor Townsend – stand-off Fergus Burke, back-row Alexander Masibaka and tighthead prop Fin Richardson – although all three have been involved before with the squad.
In the back row, Matt Fagerson has been included, despite missing end of season with Glasgow through injury.
But there is no place for Jack Dempsey, who has been sidelined by injury since the Six Nations win over Wales in March.

Arsenal legend Aaron Ramsey, 34, left unemployed after having contract ripped up ahead of shock move to Mexico
AARON RAMSEY has been released by Cardiff, paving the way for his shock move to Mexico. The Wales captain, 34, is believed to have agreed a deal with Club Universidad Nacional - known as Pumas UNAM - after he declined the option of an extra year on his contract. 1 Ramsey was Bluebirds' interim boss for the final three Championship games of last season after the Welsh club sacked Omer Riza. But the midfielder was unable to prevent relegation to League One. Cardiff are now close to announcing Leicester assistant Brian Barry-Murphy, 46, as their new manager. The Welsh club said in a statement: 'Aaron will leave the Bluebirds this summer. 'The Welsh captain rejoined his childhood club during the summer of 2023, before taking up the role of caretaker manager for the final three games of the 2024/25 campaign. Aaron departs Cardiff City Stadium with our best wishes.' Ex-Arsenal and Juventus star Ramsey had an injury-ravaged second spell at the Bluebirds, starting just 15 games in two years. But the playmaker is keen to keep playing and remains determined to lead Wales at the 2026 World Cup next summer if they qualify. Craig Bellamy's men lost 4-3 to Belgium in Brussels on Monday night, leaving them second in Group J heading into the autumn. Ramsey famously progressed through the ranks at Cardiff before a £5million move to Arsenal in 2008. He amassed more than 350 appearances for the Gunners, tasting FA Cup glory three times. Mexico icon Carlos Vela was an Arsenal team-mate of Ramsey for four years. THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY.. Forgotten ex-Rangers star primed for stunning Club World Cup clashes vs Man City's Erling Haaland & Juventus superstars

But this weekend Fabio Cardoso will take another step towards banishing the memory of Progres Niederkorn when he turns out in the all new Club World Cup against the likes of Erling Haaland. Caixinha ended up remonstrating with fans from a bush in Luxembourg - a fate from which he never recovered - and Cardoso didn't last too much longer. After agreeing to terminate his deal with the Gers after just 18 appearances for the Light Blues, he promptly signed on a permanent deal with Portuguese side Santa Clara. From there it was onto Portuguese giants Porto, with whom he won the league and three Portuguese Cups. Now 31, he spent last season on loan at Al-Ain in the UAE and has just been included in their squad for the Club World Cup in the US. They've landed in Group G, where they will take on Manchester City's fearsomely reassembled squad, Italian giants Juventus and Al-Wydad of Casablanca, Morocco. He's in action a week today against Juventus, as he joins another former Rangers star, Ryan Kent of Seattle Sounders, at the event. Kent's Sounders have found a tough looking group which includes new European champions Paris St Germain, Atletico Madrid and Botafogo of Brazil. £6m Rangers star Danilo spotted doing gruelling sessions on beach in Brazil as he gears up for make or break pre-season One of Cardoso's low points in Glasgow was suffering a broken nose against Motherwell in their Betfred Cup semi-final defeat courtesy of an elbow from the Larnakshire side's Ryan Bowman. The 24-year old even took aim at his former club in how they dealt with the situation. He said: "The negative part was to have broken my nose, because I took some time to recover and from there I played little. I used to say it was a year of learning. "It gave me a lot of stuff and if I have to go out again I'm going to be much more prepared." 6 Cardoso in action against Aberdeen Credit: Keith Campbell - The Sun Glasgow 6 Erling Haaland of Manchester City looks dejected Credit: Getty 6 Cardoso in the kit of Al Ain Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

'It's pretty nuts' - Ben Curry on his England journey ahead of Argentina tour
Aged just 18, Ben and twin brother Tom Curry were bold selections from Eddie Jones eight years ago when England travelled to Argentina deprived of a host of players on Lions duty Ben Curry can still remember the moment he understood what it meant to be on a full England tour. Aged just 18, he and twin brother Tom were bold selections from Eddie Jones eight years ago when England travelled to Argentina deprived of a host of players on Lions duty. The Sale flankers' turned 19 on that tour, and now Ben is set for his second taste of the country with England returning to South America this summer. But where he was a fresh-faced teenager who grew up very quickly last time around, the responsibilities in 2025 will look very different for Curry, who is now club captain at Sale and a senior member of Steve Borthwick's squad. Looking back at his 2017 experience, he said: 'It definitely feels like it's been eight years, that feels like an absolute lifetime ago. 'It's a lot more relaxed (now). I definitely don't panic at driving up the gates to Pennyhill (Park, England's training base in Surrey) like I used to. It's an interesting one. You probably don't actually really reflect on it every day until stuff like this happens, where it's pretty nuts. 'It wasn't just learning about rugby, it was learning about life on that tour. 'I think I was definitely different, you have to grow up quickly, you're surrounded by proper adults. 'I can't remember who I was rooming with, but he was Face Timing his children at night, I was like, this is just so weird. I was just in the Under-20s. 'It does make you grow up as a person. I'm hopefully looking to see a bit more of Argentina if I go, I think I just locked myself in my room last time. It's a lovely country.' That 2017 tour is often brought up as a sliding doors moment for the Curry twins. Ben was due to start for England against the Barbarians before withdrawing at the last minute due to back spasms. Tom replaced him and then made his debut on that tour of Argentina, with Ben travelling but not getting onto the pitch. Where his brother is now a 50-capper and set to become a two-time Lions tourist this summer, Ben has had to bide his time. But in 2025, he has seized his opportunity, the duo starting alongside each other for England for the first time during the Six Nations, with Ben Curry playing in every game of that campaign. His performances led to suggestions that he would crack Andy Farrell's Lions squad, but that was not the case – Curry revealed that he has not heard anything about a standby list. That combined with Sale missing out in the Gallagher Premiership play-offs, beaten 21-16 by Leicester Tigers last weekend, could have put a dampener on a stellar campaign, but Curry has already shifted his focus. He added: 'There's always something different to go after. Obviously, you've got to address the emotion of disappointment, but with professional sport, there's always something thrown at you next, and you can't rest, it's about just cracking on to the next thing, and I think it's really exciting. 'In five weeks, I might kind of address those emotions, but right now it's quite nice to just kind of throw yourself into something different.' As a club captain and a Six Nations ever-present, there will inevitably some leadership responsibilities heading Curry's way in the absence of regular skipper Maro Itoje, as well as vice-captains Ellis Genge and Jamie George – currently training with the Lions in Portugal. And from his own memories of being a youngster in that environment, Curry is doing all he can to help those in the same position, including 21-year-old scrum-half Charlie Bracken, the son of England World Cup winner Kyran. He explained: 'That tour was just pure panic for me. When you're 18 doing that, I remember my first session with Chris Robshaw, and I was just like medicine ball wrestling with him, I was knackered, I was thinking, this is nuts. 'He's someone I looked up to, and there were a few senior lads on that tour who really helped us out, so if I can do half of what they did for someone else, I think that would be incredible.' Next up is a home clash with a France XV before the squad fly out to Argentina. Eight years from his last experience, the fresh-faced teenager has grown up.
